Sonic Z-Treme : METAL SONIC is a full remake of the Metal Sonic boss fight from Sonic X-Treme. It reuses assets found in the leaked 718 build and from the official SDK to recreate that famous fight in a new engine.

The boss stages were never meant to have fisheye. Only the regular stages. (Technically, Chris Senn's original plan was fisheye for Sonic, side scrolling for Tiara, top down for Knuckles, and over the shoulder for Tails).

@@feliciaroseantonia "Over the shoulder" is my own phrasing, to try and convey a camera view that always faces the character's backside. Chris Senn described it a little differently. From his Sonic X-Treme FAQ on the now defunct website, Senntient: "We explored many ideas throughout the course of development on Xtreme. At one point, I thought it would be interesting to provide different gameplay for multiple characters by changing the view each played the game in - Sonic from 3/4 view, Tails from 'tail cam' (behind him), Knuckles from top-down, and Tiara from side view... I created some demo animations to show these ideas, but they never went anywhere."
Unfortunately, those demo animations only showed Sonic's, Tiara's, and Knuckles' gameplay, not Tails', so we would have to use our imagination. Based on games that were out at the time, and assuming Senn would want to incorporate flight, the gameplay might have resembled a flight sim like Wing Arms or a rail shooter like Panzer Dragoon.
