    Voigtlander 75mm F/1.5 Nokton. It’s been highly anticipated, and it’s now here. If you’re looking for a vintage styled lens that can capture beautiful portraits, but not willing to fork out that extra cash for that red dot, this is probably what you should be looking out for.
    We had the Voigtlander 75mm F/1.5 out for a day, tested it, ran through its paces, compared it with a Leica 75mm F/2.5 Summarit and a little bit with the Noctilux, well… safe to say, you’ll be slightly surprised.

    Super, very many example pictures, the quality of the Voigtlander lens is very good. With many pictures I would have hardly noticed the difference in practice.

    New to the channel. Thank you for the review. A little pricey I may have to look at the 1.8 as an alternative, or TTArtisan for price

    This is the lens that I’m waiting for. And I wanna compare to the 7 artisan 75 f1.25 as well.

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  5 років тому +1

      I need to try the 7 artisan more, but I would say the Voigtlander hits the sweet spot for sharpness, Color, and build quality

      silly! I would never compare cheap Chinesium optics with legendary Voigtlander Cosina glass! (essentially same company that produces glass for Zeiss)

      Check out our review of the 35 f2 and 50 1.2 the 50 is approx the same for the 40. Fantastic lens! As for the 35 f2 performance is similar to the 35 f2

    • @charruaporelmundo
      @charruaporelmundo 5 років тому

      TECH360.TV Yes but the ones I saw were on leica cameras. If you can test them on mirrorless ones ( not leica), and if you can, with techart. 😬, would be excellent!

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  5 років тому

      We were testing it out briefly for this review. Sharp lens, great alternative to the summicron if you don’t need f2 and it’s a lightweight.

    • @srkgv
      @srkgv 5 років тому +1

      @@TECH360TV Thank you for the quick reply and for the short review. Precisely, I was thinking of it as an alternative to the cron. Problem is I already have a 50. Don't know if its worth it to get a 75.

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  5 років тому

      Depends on your photography style. Are you more into portraits? Are you okay with a longer focal length? If you aren’t sure, maybe the voigtlander will be an option for you to explore without spending Leica prices until you are ready.

      I tried it on the Leicas MP. Because the lens is quite small, limited blocking. Very similar to the 75 Cron or Elmarit

    • @TECH360TV

    i'm not sure I agree with the Voigtlander to be "similar" to the old Mandler-designed 75mm f1.4 Summilux; the latter has no aspherical elements so its wide-open characteristics will have more CA (aka "dreaminess")...and this aspherical element probably allowed closer focusing distances for the former (0.7m vs 0.8m)...the Voigtlander still has the modern look even wide-open. however, neither have floating elements that's why both lenses have sharpness optimized for a certain range of distances...I do hope Voigtlander comes out with a 75mm APO FLE just like its new-ish 35 and 50 variants...that would be my preference.

      @@TECH360TV Hello, we are now in the future since you wrote this answer... ! ;) Di you make any test on the 7artisans 75mm 1,25? In comparison with the Voigtlander, how does it perform?

    • @TECH360TV
      @TECH360TV  4 роки тому

      We are and yes I did. The lens performance doesn’t match the Voigtlander and we felt not necessary to invest production budget on a lens that performs so softly wide open its not very usable.
      While we are fans of what 7artisans is doing, we feel the optical performance could be better. Hopefully in future lenses they will improve this.
