People don't realize how revolutionary the gen 1 Scion xB really was. I'm still so upset that Toyota went to gen 2 and also discontinued xB brand. If they kept the original box design and kept updating it, it would have the same legendary status as the Prius but better looking (my opinion). My main 3 things about it was the amount of visibility, amount of space and just plain fun. If I had to have only 3 cars in my garage collection it would be 1. Scion xB 1st gen 2. Tesla Cybertruck and 3. Tesla Model S. Each I believe were way ahead of its times. 2006 Scion xB, 170k miles Berri No-ICE.
I love my 06 with almost 300k miles to it. I've thought (since you mentioned Tesla) of possibly puting rear wheel electric hubs and making it a sort of a hybrid scion. Seems like it should be easy to convert. Just a thought and yes, all 3 you mentioned take my vote for being ahead of their time.
Bought my 2006 brand new in 2005. It is still running strong with 360,000 miles on it. Besides having to replace the catalytic converter every 2-3 years, its very low maintenance. Replacing the catalytic converter onky costs $70 for labor since you get a rebate if you return the old one to parts store. Love it!!!
Just picked up a 2004 auto with 170k miles on it for $4500. It’s my dog/grocery hauler and allows me to keep my Miata as a weekend toy. I had no idea how much I would love this little Toaster! I love the practicality of it and the quirky looks. It’s not great for long hauls up steep mountain roads with the automatic but I use it as an in town run about which it does very well! I’ll drive this thing till it’s time to replace the drive train and even then it’s a perfect candidate to convert to an electric car!
I've had 2 NA Miatas in my life and I probably won't leave this Earth without a 3rd. So one of my neighbors told me I should be driving a Tesla if I care about the environment. LOL even if I wanted one I ain't getting one now! That's why I slapped the Greta sticker on the back of the xB. If we really cared about the environment, we would take old cars like the xB and work on making them last longer, run clean, and eventually convert to EV (assuming batteries and sourced electricity is clean)...
I have an 06 5speed I bought from a friend who was moving. Out of the 15 wrx, 18 Cummins ram and 96 hilux surf I drive my scion the most actually everyday. Love this car
I've got 97K miles on my black manual 2006 that I bought brand new. 17 years later it still looks and runs great. Best car I've ever owned. I should have bought a supercharger kit when they were still available to get a bit more power, but it's adequate. I'll keep this car for the rest of my life, even when I buy something new 🙂

how did you fix the engine rattle?
is the mirror a clip on, do you have the link where you purchased ?
Where’d you find that mirror? Maybe it’s just the video, but it really seems to give you some awesome side rear visibility.
Were you the white xb flying at 100mph down 101 near san mateo the other day?
change the pcv valve
Get a spoiler and yes paint the grill black
I'm thinking about a gloss black spoiler and painting the grill gloss black...hmmm

Nice Ride! What size rims and tires are you running?
Thanks. Tiny 15x6.5. I added 25mm spacers in the back, I think after I shot the video.
Making me wanna sell my e36 so I can get a xb and mod one😭
Hahaha I sold my z3 because it wasn't practical with the family. xB fits an amazing amount of stuff inside but it is SLOW
I guess that there are people that have not played gaia online
When I was in 9th grade that event came out and it influenced me even more to get an xB 😂 product placement at its finest. I loved the 1st gens commercials esp the transforming one but once they put the 2nd gens in Gaia I fell in love.
You should leave the rav4 not the xB lol more valuable and cooler to me
Man the xB is really growing on me. I almost picked up a 2nd one but had to hold back.
