Hahahaheeee! What a piece of junk..,I'm glad it failed
Much better context for the final break up vs the official coverage.
Thanks Scott! Feel free to use if you’d like in any analyses you do! Just link back❤️🔥
Please can I have a job
You mean zoomed completely out with hardly any detail. Plus no “context” that meant much either.
@@somerandomname9252 It's a better angle, tf are you bitching about
If only SpaceX had planned to test separation as a launch abort option if things went sideways as they did.
Trevor, we can always rely on your footage providing a different view of things at extremely high quality. This is another gem.
Aye, absolutely brilliant shot.
ummmm this was NOT extremely high quality. Not only that, but he over saturated the colors like a little kid playing with instagram filters.
@@OregonCrow It's clearly done on purpose so you can distinguish the details that would normally be blown out by the bright exhaust, so yes it's brilliant footage and mastered perfectly for the rocket.
@@TheOfficialStal Sounds like you're coping with a complete failure.
@@OregonCrowgo do it better
Your tracking was impeccable man, this deserves a TON of respect. You could almost "feel" where the ship is in the air by just judging from the video.
Main stream "media" has destroyed this AMAZING event! They have NOTHING good to say about this HISTORIC EVENT! Everyone I've talked to, and I'm in the Rocket Propulsion business, says this was an EPIC GAME CHANGING ATTEMPT!!!! 13 MILLION pounds of thrust, with 7 engines out, likely caused by pad disintegration!!! It drastically affected the gimbal ability to steer the stack, thus ending in Controlled destruction. The decision to not release Starship in an uncontrolled attitude, from the first stage, was the correct one! If anyone is interested... The 33 engines were started in 3 separate stages 2 seconds apart. That is why it took 6 seconds for the stack to release and move vertically from the launch stand. The two launch ring cameras would have shown that, but the were almost instantly destroyed lol. Stunning SPACEX!!! GREAT vid my friend, and Y'all, wait for the next launch.... Just Sayin!!! 😊❤
Your film is actually better than the one from SpaceX. Thats huge! Congrats!
Best one I have seen yet and I have watched several dozen. Great job!
oversaturated too much but still top tier video.
@@UCs6ktlulE5BEeb3vBBOu6DQ thanks! It’s only contrast but duly noted, will keep in mind for future videos!
@@TrevorMahlmann I actually like the contrasty look.
@@WillFaustCuber thanks Will!
How much contrast and saturation?
Video editor: yes
all of the contrast🤣
I think it brought out the best for human viewing.
Doing Barrel Roll and a Loop - SpaceX just showing off
That's some expensive fireworks right there... 🎆🎇🎆
Excellent camera work!
I was far more impressed that it stayed together as long as it did while yawing so far sideways.
That fact you highlight is mostly not relevant that this launch was not a true success. The success was it didn't blow up . Big expensive problems for Space X now.
@@mikewallace8087 SpaceX has always had the mantra of "fail early and fail often" because that is simply the best way of gathering real usable data. Saying "Big expensive problems for SpaceX" means nothing because it was already anticipated and expected. There is nothing negative about this test flight.
@@Sundablakr Untrue given that most of the obvious problems experienced were easily foreseeable and in fact have been known about and solved for generations now. It's analogous to SpaceX trying to replace a circular wheel with a hexagon because it's cheaper and easier to build, and when it doesn't work they and their fans laud it as a success because they learned so much about how not to design a wheel, even though everyone already knew those things for generations. The reason that deluge systems and flame diverters are so widely used is because people already learned 60 years ago that not having those things causes serious problems.
I was impressed with how long it stayed together too at first, but then noticed just how slow it was traveling (thanks to all the lost engines), so the dynamic pressure at that speed and altitude was not very high. Once it came back into thicker air the structure failed as expected.
@@harbingerdawn There probably won't ever be a water deluge system... they aren't solving things in the same way becasue the target perormance parameters are DIFFERENT, than any rocket so far, these things have to launch from Mars and the moon eventually as they may as well solve that problem now. That said... they probably do need a flame diverter... instead of just a flat pad....
Great shots! Excellent view of the flips too, it really kept turning for a while
Very impressive to have the entire stack flipping over and over like that without tearing itself apart at those speeds. Some real material strength right there.
@@Sundablakrat that altitude there was not much air resistance...it had only just started descending and air is very thin that high up, not even enough to give lift to the wings of a jetliner. Still impressive though
@@cyh4031 Sure, but the G-forces must have been ridiculous. That ship can take some strain.
The fact that the ship did not break apart when massive aerodynamic forces were applied to the side of the booster when it started to spiral gives testament to the superior engineering that went into the construction of the vessel. Much was learned. Better luck next time. I gave this one a 1 in 10 chance of total completion. Next one will probably have 1 in 3 chance of successful complete trip.
@@winfordnettles3292 Tells me it was overbuilt and could be lighter. Rockets don't need to be able to survive flying sideways because should it happen then the mission is over.
Interesting how long it fell before blowing. Elon said the "onboard self-destruct system" was suppose to do it but failed, so the range safety officer had to blow it from the ground.
Finally.. Someone with a camera who knows how to use it!!
It was impressive that it did so many 360 degree turns without breaking up.
I think the technical term is Space Doughnuts.
cope harder with its complete failure
@@OregonCrow How was it a complete failure?
@@OregonCrow its a test lol, you know how many falcon 9's they blew up til they got it right
@@ixxxxxxx You seem to be coping well with the failure.
I just can imagine the sound when this giant back to landing and light up those engines 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Having a backdrop of the boats at the beginning really adds to the sense of scale of this thing. Kudos
I can’t believe that thing held together for so long as it was tumbling.
Excellent tracking! Love the end how Starship say, "Bellyflop with me!" and Super Heavy is like, "Nah, I'm tired, so let's finish climbing ok?"
I am still in awe!! Having waited for this launch for so long, to see that it actually cleared the launch pad and flew for quite some time… this was perfect!! Now to crunch the data and make it so much more successful!! ❤️
Just want to second what others have already stated - GREAT camera work!
i hope someday i ll be able to watch something like that live too. incredible. greetings from germany
The way things are going with Russia you very likely will see this live only difference being they will be coming down rather than going up 😂
A f#$k8ng 190m tall skyscraper more powerful than any other rocket in existence lifted off Earth. Absolutely was a marvel to watch. Cannot wait for subsequent tests
Actually Starship Super Heavy is 120M tall.
The most powerful launch in history was the launch of the N-1 in the USSR, 50 years ago. It is the most powerful in the USA. Maybe the next rocket can beat the old Soviet record.
@@MultiNike79 According to Wikipedia, the Starship Super Heavy produces a maximum of 75.9 MN of thrust, compared to the N1's maximum of 45.4 MN.
@@MultiNike79 Starship is vastly more powerful than the N1
@@41-Haiku Yes, but not on this flight. In this flight, the power was less. Maximum - yes, Starship has more. Maybe the next flight will be launched to the fullest.
It's funny that the H-1 was closed, and its engines were sold in the USA, and already in the 21st century they flew to space.
The sound of a launch never gets old! Incredible footage
I hear only some farting or diesel engine.
Fantastic coverage in high res. You kept it centered (not easy at all!) and the color and detail here are amazing. Not to mention the base in the sound. Thankyou Trevor!
For those calling this a total failure..let me remind you,.. this enormous rocket did multiple flips, without breaking apart... no rocket in history could withstand an maneuver like this without fully breaking apart.... this is total succes...and the absolute bulletproof future ahead
Musk did it for us.. Lets give the guys something they will like, Push the go button!!! What a fricken ride!!
😂 Ladies and gentlemen, I give you .. The Starship Way Too Heavy!
Now SpaceX understands the importance of flame diverters and water sound suppression systems, as chunks of concrete blew up into some of the engines and caused them to fail in flight, along with a forward center of drag, at some point there may be super heavy boosters with foldable grid fins, or bottom mounted fins like the Saturn V rocket had.
@@norliasmith exactly....it's all part of the process..and Elon already said,...they didn't know if going without the diverters was a good idea....
Look for a video of a tumbling Proton.
What's crazy is that if there were people in the rocket they would have had time to safely escape. The structure held through some crazy maneuvers before they pulled the plug.
"...some crazy maneuvers..." The acceleration levels may have prevented that, or might even have been fatal.
@@MrShobar true
@@MrShobar You mean the momentum? This thing has an insane amount of mass. So, the momentum was huge too. p=mv
4 consecutive loops. Another record
👍Your editing tells a great story of of combustion efficiency and engine condition.
Well said!
Of all the camera angles and views this one gave me the best perspective of what it's like to see the launch in person. Thank you.
Stunning footage and fascinating to see a different angle on the whole thing. Thank you!
Beautiful footage, so clear and steady, almost like being there
Fantastic footage sir!
I love how you can see the starship rolling in the atmosphere on its trajectory upwards
Yepp It did a cople revolutions around the planet.
Well done Trevor! Thanks for sharing.
That is the best video of the launch and flight by far - thanks!!
This is absolutely incredible tracking work. Nice shot!
That rocket took a beating during the initial launch that would have destroyed any other rocket previously flown. Starship is legit.
Absolutely stunning footage! Thank you Trevor! 🤗
Great video. This is one of the best views after launch. You have a better angle and able to see it doing it’s loops. Great job 👍
Launch sounds are asmr for space nerds
Great footage and the sound is the best so far.
Thanks
Great video Trevor. Thank you for sharing.
Best video view of the full launch profile I’ve seen so far! Thanks.
Of all the countless videos I've seen of this insane moment I'm time, I think this one is my favorite. There's a bunch of great edited takes but this single shot really gives me the feeling of what it must have been to see it live. Awesome, dude.
BEST VIDEO TO DATE!! Thank you!
props on your tracking skills! Probably the cleanest launch to RUD tracking I've seen so far! Well done!
This might be the best video of the launch I've seen so far!
Beautiful! Love the mach diamonds -- when the engines were burning mostly clean -- excellent work, many thanks!
Trevor Your video is so much better than even SPACEX own feed. Thank you!
Bloody brilliant camera work. Well done and thanks for the footage. Wow.
Incredible! Thank you for capturing that audio! ❤
-Excellent tracking shot, Trev old bean. The quality of which has prompted me to subscribe to your channel. Please keep up the good work.
Awesome camera view! Thanks. Best one I’ve seen.
thanks for sharing it with us!
Fantastic shots, thank you
Spectacular Footage! Thank You! Best I've Seen.
WOW!!! That's some AMAZING footage, dude! Can very clearly see when the engines start to puke near it's apogee and then the tumble, just incredible! Great job keeping the camera steady, too... I would've been shaking from the adrenaline. WOW!
Awesome! Wish I could have been there! Thank you for your amazing photos and videos!
Loved that perspective. Still more than happy to support you!
Excellent Capture of this whole flight. Bravo!
Wow, unmatched footage! Thank you!
Excelente video! Muchas gracias.

Fantastic tracking! Great view. Excellent sound.
This is a great perspective. you can see the color changes in the flame front. non of the other spaceX vids show it so well being they're looking from the rear.
Well Done -Thanks
Awesome job!!
Great video. Every flash of light and every pop and bang is a tell. Best view of the destruct sequence.
Best footage I've seen by far............Thanks!
REALLY good camera following there. So smooth and always in center. Very nicely done. Can't wait to see you following the next attempt. Thank you, great video and sound.

Absolutely incredible footage! So good!
Amazing and thank you!!
Thank you Trevor!
Thanks Trevor, great video.
Really love the audio quality, you can hear the engines "stuttering" and the side comment "that doesn't look normal" (my thoughts exactly)
Looking forward for you recording the next successful launch!

Nice shots and the sound is glorious
BEAUTIFUL
Great camera work! And great job, SpaceX! You guys did everything you could to regain control. Very, very good work, guys! You will succeed!
Awesome work as always!!
These were the clearest shots I have seen a far. Well done
Thanks Trevor!
Great Shot !
That is the best video of the launch that have seen.
I'm in love with these "no-zoom" tracking shots that help give a real sense of distance and elevation, a lot of that is lost when the tracking cam is half filled with the rocket itself
This cameraman needs a medal for the best in class picture.
That was incredible footage thank you,
What a view, such a nice advantage overlooking at the spacestation
I had to be so contained watching in the breakroom at my job😂
