Every time I watch this scene I train myself to not cry or tear up. I fail every time. What you’re seeing is the reality of the black community. Before drugs Franklin neighborhood was like the black Wall Street. No gang/drug violence. Then BOOM crack hit the communities and took off.
Lee saved the love of his life from the pipe, pretty sure he felt he had the ability to save his best friend from the bottle. Wanda was lost at 1 point and Leon seemed dismissive off that, but eventually came back to save her. He seemed to let Franklin drift away this last scene, but pretty sure he wasn't gonna go out seeing his boy become homeless without a fight. I stand firmly on the thought that if there was an 11th episode of this season, it was gonna be Leon giving it another (more aggressive) shot to get Franklin back on his feet. Last thought: Franklin's dad was in the same position and found salvation through somebody who loved him, history could've continued to repeat itself. An ending more open to interpretation than what ppl are giving it credit for.
The Wire, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos are better shows, BUT none of them had an ending as good as this, not even Breaking Bad. This got to the heart of the character. "You make a motherfucker die breathing then you saying something" - Jay Z

This show was about action, consequences, greed, family, drugs, love, transformation, trust, loyalty, crime and war. Franklin was created by his parents. A hard working mother in the ghetto who gets abused by her boss and his homeless father who's also a drunk but a panther and fighter in the war. He's kicked out college for doing good because of money problems. Which also leads to racist remarks and drive. He gets led to meeting with the CIA that leads his involvement with his character in the operation. As smart as he was. He was definitely not. He was smart for sure but it when it came to it was used from the beginning. He never saw it coming. He was a mule. A black man in the ghetto. It's not like the CIA Teddy Agent could to it. The South Central wouldn't buy from a white guy on in bmw. Same thing to different races in parts of towns and America. Hopefully that's where we get a spin off. Years later after show. Greed got Franklin because he only wanted one thing. He wanted money. It eventually costed him Love, His Kid, Family, Friends, the streets, the city, the US, and the World.
He's " free from it all" by his own definition, yet he's destroying himself. I guess by his own terms? I guess some people would call that freedom. One thing for sure. In this whole series he was aware of people's delusion but he's not aware of his own self-delusion.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

And I don't wanna here that bullshit about once your in the game you can't get out. After I left whoever wanted my spot could have happy have it. Fact's fact's
but saint tried to leave and look what teddy did to him
teddy set him up at the banks so he could rob him from the start
no matter what saint was gonna end up robbed by teddy
@michaellong6089 It's true. Alton told Franklin this is exactly what was going to happen. He and Andre did warned Franklin about Teddy, and the drug dealing business.
It’s easy for you to say cuz you probably were nvr close to having 73mil in ur possession but for smn that did its a complete different story
@@davy8673When he quit the first time back in season one way before he met Teddy he should’ve stayed out of the business.
Bro lol you must have not been in the Real Game to Understand once you in there is no out..... You must have been selling some Ice cream to kids thats why the next one up is happy to take your spot..
The realist ending ever, he should have won an Oscar.
Franklin only down fall was still being naïve when having his family involved in his drug business one thing real drug dealers don’t do is involve their family cause you don’t wanna get caught up or you’ll never know if one of them is a snake he thought he had everything controlled but he didn’t and I understand why Leon didn’t help him because he have to give him that tough love if he didn’t he’ll be back when he started again Franklin gotta find his own way either get back in motion or die a bum/crackhead
Pride
@@papaadot9369 yeee dat too
We need a alternated version of this episode where he wins
No we don't this is reality
@@papaadot9369 but franklin wouldn't be the type of guy to just give in after a massive loss. There was no way to ever get that money back, but there are always more ways of making money.
Him drowning his pain and sorrow in alcohol and drugs is unrealistic for someone as conscientious and intelligent as him.
It’s no doubt that if Leon could press a rewind button, he would’ve continued to struggle and live how he had been living before Franklin met Avi.
In this episode didnt leon remind you of jerome with the hair and how he shouted saint
i cried for a sec , what happened to it was all a dream
Damn and the 90s was about to be wild
0:51 💔😥😥😥 man they did him really bad when all he wanted to do is be able to provide for his family and Franklin had everything in control till his family mess everything up thats why some drug bosses keep they family away from the business so they dont get caught up...they just take care him i was hoping everything work out with him....series teach me alot though
You get it👏👏💖
Proud of sound like Denzel
What’s also sad is I think Franklin is on the rock too, he is missing teeth and the rest are black/yellow, I finished snowfall an hour ago and I’m fckn depressed now, everything that started from season 1 to just all crumble and end like this 😪
Every time I watch this scene I train myself to not cry or tear up. I fail every time. What you’re seeing is the reality of the black community. Before drugs Franklin neighborhood was like the black Wall Street. No gang/drug violence. Then BOOM crack hit the communities and took off.
LA Sheriff’s Department? That’s LAPD. 😂
I hate how this ended
Fitting ending tbh, its tragic but he's finally free
The most hauting ending ever...stayed with me to this day because it so real. It is the reality of so many people
Left with nothing and no one 😢
Yo-Yo 😂😂😂
"You make a motherfucker die breathing then you saying something" - Jay Z
what a great ending
After that many bodies im surprized he walking down on streets like that
…shit hurt
The lesson Tariq is going to have to learn
I don’t know about you, guys… but If I was Leon, mayyyyybe I would’ve let Franklin move in to my house??? And then gave him new clothes? Some money for a haircut and then took him to rehab?? Or a hypnotherapist so that he can be his old self before things went downhill? I know that Franklin’s not a good guy but… I don’t know 😂
I would love to have been your friend. You are right I mean Leon tries and Frank gives up but you could try even more and then you can let him be. You real g
He kinda tried to do that by offering Franklin a job but Franklin turned it down. The reason he did that was for one simple reason: pride.
Franklin didn't want anything. He didn't want no help from anyone. After losing everything, this is what he wanted.
you cant force someone into rehab.
@@dule7380I know that but here in my country, even if the person doesn’t want to go to rehab, they still get forced to go there. 🤷🏽♂️
Still crazy how frank stood 10 toes for everyone, right or wrong he never turned his back on them and left them alone, yet when he lost it all everyone left him alone. SMH
Wesley don't pay his taxes 😂
Lee entered the game a criminal and came out clean with 3+ million. Franklin entered and exited the game clean but lost everything in the process. The only true winners of the game is the system, who funded a war and someone pocketed 73million in the process
that soundtrack
Came in with nothing, and left with nothing only real ones can relate as did I in a different game
But the Godfather, and Goodfellas and etc gets syndicated, nominated, multiple category noms, trophies, and played every holiday. It’s what they call a cult (culture) classic; with the killing, the corruption, the blackmailing, the bribing, rigging, even the with derogatory language, racist language, and political infiltration
They keep showing it and showing them love, paying them residuals.
It’s not fair, it’s just favoritism.
Here’s my advice, rig everything for you to win.
Hate how ppl called him greedy bro once he was in he did stuff for everyone then literally lost all of it teddy didn’t leave bro a cent
He was greedy
shi hurt my heart
Bruh I finished this 2 days ago I know exactly what happened and how the show ended and this shit still messed me up I’m sad asf but that’s the only way it should’ve ended
Ik Franks breath had to have been rocking 😭😭
I hate the mom more than anything... That witch was scared of loosing Frank but ended up loosing him anyway!
His mother was right
That White man did Frank dirty dirty dirty😢
He did but Franklin could not put his pride aside
This shit fucked me up but I completely understand. This was his karma.
99 of blk homeless ppl u see are franklin thats what fools dont get about this ending this aint aboug franklin
Franklin built dis shii brick by brick 😢
Now he doesn't have a brick to live in
This is how you end a show. Powerful ending.
Not some chicken shit sopranos way
Bingo
He's " free from it all"
by his own definition, yet he's destroying himself.
I guess by his own terms? I guess some people would call that freedom. One thing for sure. In this whole series he was aware of people's delusion but he's not aware of his own self-delusion.
The "baby mama" stealing a good chunk of his money didn't help matters. He knew she was a scammer and he still got involved with her.
She did it to protect the future of her child
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Best friend I ever fucking had and I’m fucking proud of you🥲😔
Same shit happened to my best friend 😢
Lost in my own mentality
