This reminds me of (and hopefully will be like) the Virginia Mens college basketball team in the 2019 szn. They were the #1 team that year, all year, and was the first #1 team to lose in the opening round against the #16 team. The most embarrassing loss of all time. They came back the next year wnd won the title.
It reminds me of teams thet have had similar stories. Things were great as a #1 team, but they lost their game in the playoffs on a heartbreaker and came back with a vengeance the next year and won it all. The South Carolina Women's basketball team is another example.
