Win felt closer to 2022 than 2023. They started slow but the finished strong and stayed consistent. I was very impressed with the defense. Nick is now 4-0 in season openers. He went 10-1in two seasons in a row. I know people criticize Sirianni for not playing starters in the pre-season, but you just cannot argue with the results... You can't.

Not an eagles fan but it was absolutely criminal what their coaches were doing with one of the most elite rosters in the NFL during 2023.
Kellen Moore worked wonders for the eagles in ONE GAME, we saw the difference what good coaching does.
ALL that talent will be wasted as long as Hurts is QB, Barrett Brooks is absolutely right about him.

Lane Johnson completely missed two blocks. I couldn't believe it. I honestly think it's the first time I have ever seen him miss a block. Really hoping that just doesn't happen again at all this season. I'm used to seeing absolute perfection at our right tackle position, and I'm not ready to lower my expectations.

A win is a win, but damn they have to tighten some things up. Hurts needs to make some better decisions on some of those throws. Need to scrap some of those quarterback keeps, it isn’t fooling anyone anymore.

The whole not fooling anyone is the point. They have to scheme for it, so even if it isn't delivering yardage, it's still tying up physical and/or mental resources.
Hurts is great running RPO's!!! Eagles need more of them, & gamble that Hurts doesn't get injured. Otherwise, he's just a slightly above average QB.

He needs to clean that up, for sure...but the differences is that Hurts is still producing a lot of offense whereas 2020 Wentz gave us interceptions and not much else. I think he will clean it up.

I think he’s mentally stuck in 2023, he feels constant pressure to make something out of nothing because he doesn’t trust his defense. He needs to relax and just take what defenses are giving him rather than trying to force shit. Once he calms down a bit I think he’ll get much better.

@benniehoskins2514 Will it though? His ability to read a defense and process what he sees and doing it quickly( that's the most important) has always been the weakest point of his game. And after 5 years in the NFL he has shown not much improvement in that area. He is slow to go through his progressions and process what the defense is showing. It feels like if his first read isn't there then he immediately goes into waiting for an excuse to run with the ball.
He needs to learn to throw the ball away and live to see another down. He will get better.

This felt a lot like ‘22 than ‘23. Especially after two first quarter turnovers. They could’ve gave up and just tried to make the film look better. Defense stepped up, kept it close. Offense exploded. Dumb decisions, bad mistakes, bad referee calls throughout the game(think Jalen Carter was held more than points put up in the game lol) kept it close. And that’s stuff they gotta clean up. Mini bye week, BACK HOME IN PHILLY FOR MONDAY NIGHT!!!

Strip bringing up Reddick this is the exact reason why we didn’t give him what he wanted. For one he would blow his own coverage to try and sack hunt when it wasn’t called for and was the weakness in run game if he’s not blowing coverage always biting on the qb and not looking for the handoff cause he wants the sack numbers meanwhile blowing past is the rb and ball. Sorry but 25 mil a year for a guy in his position and his age im good plus he wouldn’t have wait to play last year of contract he wanted to be paid before season. That happens it’s a ? The score isn’t totally indicative of the D. They held 2 goal line possessions early the offense put them in a both times that was huge. I think noticeable upgrade from last season. Run defense is sketchy though

Whatever Jalen Hurts does, you all will never be happy
Its night and day between last year and this year in coverage calls. When there were big plays for GB it was generally a Players fault. I truly believe when all of these players buy into Vic's schemes you will see a transformation of execution. Baun is amazing, Quinyon played to the level of DROY. Sweat was AFK, Reed came in clutch, Dean was hit or miss. Carter has the talent and still has the undiscipline of a rookie. CK has the talent of a star but didnt show up. Defense showed up when the offense failed. Offense showed up when defense failed. They won as a team, regardless of the faults. A team normally doesn't win with a turnover deficit. But we handled it.
If this team continues to get better in these systems, watch out. Jalen will improve week to week, Kellen Moore will adjust the play calls to Jalen’s strengths, and this will be a 30+ points a game offense. 13 and 4 record 1seed in the nfc

Eagles gave GB every chance to win this game. 2 turnovers deep in their zone in the first quarter. Pick when in chip shot range at the end.
Jalen simply has to be better at situational game management. At times a sack in the pocket with a 5 yard loss is manageable. A turnover isn't. Mostly every posseions should end with a kick if your managing the game correctly. Team is too good for heros
Ive lost my confidence in Hurts after this game. He definitely needed snaps leading up to this game, he looked flustered at times and his reaction time was terribly slow.
It’s his first game chill out. He just needed to get the rust off and shake off last year with a win. I think by game 3 or 4 our team is gonna be humming for real
He made some bone headed plays but it’s week 1. If he doesn’t clean it up soon then I agree but it’s way too early to panic. Aside from the team meltdown last year he does win ball games

This game was 100% proof that preseason is a waste. You have two bad drives and then suddenly turn it on for the rest of the game. If all preseason is good for is to get going two drives sooner then it's not worth the risk of injury.
Sure seemed like they could have used some preseason game reps. Jalen looks to be pressing again. Not thrilled with him at all. Finally, need to stop trying to hold onto older players because of "experience" and be willing to give more to the young guys. Nick has this ridiculous thing about sticking with guys that have been bad because of "experience" and it stunts young player growth.

Starters played good for not playing 1 snap in the preseason
This game was a bit sloppy but this win felt better than week 1 last year when the Eagles struggled to beat the Patriots but the Packers are a good team so it should be a closer game. We had some nice pass plays, guys ran some routes that we wished we saw last year and we had some big plays. The offense flowed much better and we got that big play to AJ and that was more akin to 2022 than 2023. The INTs were bad, sometimes there's nothing there.
