- Here is a recipe that we ourselves found from a Swede. Recipes for crayfish can vary a lot but it seems that this has a lot of the basics in it that most people here use. We thought it was absolutely delicious.

A small tip for you who who do as Simeon´s family, that is fish the "kräftorna" yourself. The water were you get your kräftor is perhaps not as clean as in Simeons. Therefore ler your kräftor swim around in your bathtub for something like 12 hours. That way the empty their intestines completely and you awoid the risk for them not to taste as good as they can!
Brilliant !

Mats Runnerstrom, In Louisiana, some purge them in plain water in a wash tub or bath tub and some put salt in the purge water then plain purge water. The salt water then plain water works almost instantly. Maybe 5 minutes each.
Looks scrumptious!!!!!
Your wife is a saint. She looked tired in your last video. She is the back bone of this family. You are great too. But she is awesome.
Looks great. 👍
As a kid in the central valley of California nothing but farms and ranches as fare as you can see ,We just gig them netted them what ever it took to get them in the pot . most came from irrigation canals and holding ponds there was never a scarcity of them no nothing in the pot just drooped then in boiling water and eat them until we could not move it was a great . bot that was some 60 years ago and there still around I guess there not endangered . Happy Trails
Thanks! That video 🤤 left me drooling and wanting some of those fresh water lobsters.
Haven’t had them in ages!!! Thanks for reminding me how wonderful they are.
I grew up in south Louisiana and crawfish is a staple there but we always used zatarans crab boil but it was usualy 40lbs at a time. This is a interesting method I will try it one day.
No you won't.
Nice to see u cooking, it might be nice as a weekly/monthly addition to the channel. Foods from Sweden, Germany, & the USA.
Well done !!!! So wonderful to see your children taking part and learning as they grow. God Bless you all.
That looks delicious 👍♥️
Looks delicious
I would love to try this, looks yummy ;)
I would have never thought of using dill flower. Think I'll try this with shrimp. Thanks. I love your videos.
Looked delicious. 😁
Made our day. Love seeing people having a good life. They look very delicious.
Very nice, I have a pond breeding crayfish, svensk flodkräfta not signalkräfta, very tasty indeed :)
Great video. Crayfish is soooo good. 😋 Greetings to all from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden 🇸🇪
Dude....your doing just fine the way you are.....no need to stoop to the tactics of this channel. Do YOUR thing.
Interesting recipe. I usually use the beer and a good amount of Old Bay seasoning. I do blue claw crabs in the same manner. On a picnic table outside, spread the table with a few layers of clean newspaper or brown butcher's paper....ice cold beer, drawn butter, lemon wedges, or juice, HOT SAUCE 🔥(Scorned Woman is the brand), good friends, and have at them.
I save the boiled water for gumbo, (if it's not too salty.)
Fred Thorne
What is gumbo? Sounds interresting
Anders Jansson - Gumbo (French: Gombo) is a stew popular in the U.S. state of Louisiana, and that state's official state cuisine. Gumbo consists primarily of a strongly-flavored, roux based stock, meat or shellfish, a thickener, and what Louisianians call the "Holy Trinity" of vegetables, namely celery, bell peppers, and onions. Gumbo is often categorized by the type of thickener used, whether okra or filé powder (dried and ground sassafras leaves). The dish derived its name from Louisiana French, which may have derived the name from a source such as either a word from a Bantu language for okra (ki ngombo) or the Choctaw word for filé (kombo).
Fred Thorne
Oh, That must be nice. And, that was a answer that i like! You got it all👍
Thank you!
In Sweden we just throw the boiled water with all flavours away after we eaten the crayfish. Not so good, we should do gumbo!🙂
Anders Jansson - Absolutely, the nice thing about gumbo is that you do it any way you like. The only requirement is that it should be like a soup or stew and eaten with a spoon. 😁
YUM! Looks like fun, too
We'll have to try this!
That looks delicious!😋
We had a feast of these last month, our chef used pickle spices and salt, so good!
Pretty good haul from the lake.
I remember catching crayfish one summer in 6th grade to sell to the bait shop. We then went to Thrifty's and bought a bunch of candy. haha.
Those aren't crayfish, they're HUGE! I could almost smell them from waaaay over here in Montana! Looks great!
those are not european crayfish, theyre actually from america (signal crayfish) and they are infecting european waters :)))) pretty bad man
Going to try your recipe. Finding the equivalent beer will be a fun trial and hopefully not error.
great music selection
YES !!!
Butter, butter, butter and a little bit more :) Love these kind of meals where everyone dips in and gets their chins messy! Hope there was enough!
Sola Mano Absolutely!!!😁
Yum.
Love the music!
My compliments on the filming and editing! Nice music, good instructions and great that we could see your reflection in the lid! I like little details like that, good job! By the way it looks delicious as well.
Gör gärna mer videos där ni lagar mat. Väldigt roligt att se :)
Not much is better than a picnic table outside on a warm summer day, a bucket of steaming crayfish, a couple friends and a generous supply of napkins.
fabulous :)
We add some corn on the cob, new potatoes, garlic cloves, smoked sausage and Cajun spice, cocktail sauce and the beverage of choice. Nothing better on a summer evening.
Yeah, but this is totally different in taste... You would not want a salty dill corncob or potato nir sausage :)
Thanks for te recipe, going to try this tomorrow, greetings from Nederberga, Orsa
Nice meal for the family..
🌻have a beautiful tomorrow🌻
Don´t forget the aquavit! Beer and aquavit is a must when eating swedish style crayfish! Skål!
Yummy! ❤️
Oh yah, we also call them mud bugs.
If they taste like mud, next time add salt to the clean water which will make them vomit up all the mud inside of them. Rinse them with clean water if you times, then just follow your recipe.
Awesome job. Well sort of. You need some crab boil and some Tony’s seasoning Great job any ways. Thanks for sharing
I'm from Spain and I am visiting your beautiful capital Stockholm. Man this days it is doing the same temperature here than were I live in Spain
Looks yummy!!
Nice...
Interesting recipe, We have a russian recipe and the main ingredients are salt and lots of dill. Just like in your recipe!!!!
dill calls out a delicious flavor in the crawfish and also in seafoods such as shrimp/ loster/crabs!!!
We put them in anywheres from 30 pounds to 300 pounds at a time depending on the size of the pot. Crawfish is big business in Louisiana. Enjoy them mudbugs.
oh my!
That looks like GOOD EATING!!!! Can I come over the next time you do a boil???? :-D
That was a lot of work for a very little bite. Happy to hear it was delicious though.
Hey Brother, we call them crawdads.
Had no idea you had Crayfish up there.
Yep! Invasive signal crayfish, mostly...
All the more reason to eat them.
I liked the music, kinda Django-like. Hey då!
I wish i could come and live in Sweden. Unfortunately i am one of the more paler residents of South Africa
Goodluck with all the fires m8!
Hi!
Hope that you're all ok?
All love, and best wishes, Claire, Berlin 😘 😘 ✌ 👍 👍

I thought you were making pickles at first ;
I'm coming over for dinner. Just kidding.
can you talk about how land is sold? how the gov. was going to take your land. do they pay market value or over? love your videos. mainly the STIHL videos. get your brother to swing from the trees like TARZAN.
Do you still have to wait for a government-dictated date to be able to buy those crayfish at the grocery? That is what I recall from years ago, when I lived in Sweden. I though they all came from the U.S. How lucky that you can catch them in your lake!
the governemnt dictated date came due to overfishing of crawfish in sweden, hence there were no swedish crawfish until after that date. Some lakes , like the one by Simeon, is not under that law. Foreign crawfish would be possible to get all year.
Awesome recipe, guys! So I did a thing, finally... I'd been telling you for a while now we were wanting to start a UA-cam channel of our own, but that we were afraid. Well, we finally DID IT!!! We've now got 3 episodes up, and the 4th drops tomorrow. I hope you'll stop by to check them out and let me know what you think ❤️ We appreciate you and all your efforts.

can you make a meatball video? thank you. new york upstate
I can’t believe crawfish are sold (and counted) individually in Sweden instead of by weight. In Louisiana they’re only sold one 30-40lb sacks. Seems more like a light snack in Sweden.
Too much work, give me Long Island lobster or Rockport lobster any day!, I want a meal not a snack! So, how'd they taste?
Mud bugs!
hah
if you poor table salt on them they will purge there intestinal tract befor you cook them. you do not need to some cooks do.they looked good.

Now that my friends is disgusting!
not eat same day wait 1 day to eat :)
You dont use beer
very clever , but boiling for 5m ? doesnt overcook ?
hope you save that water for cooking other foods - bet its real 'yummy' , yes ?
Simion........You give no responses to those that follow me below.....are your too busy or too big for such things now days??? You ask for comments and such frequently in your vids........no need to respond to me but maybe you could spend just a little time to do so for those that are reaching out to you by commenting on your channel and supporting your family by doing so.....Just a thought.
One response ..........want to keep it sweedish????? Then stay in sweden...........want to replicate TV of today then just say so........MAN UP!!!!
Sorry buddy but I like cookin them Lousiana style better.
What! Are you putting them alive in boiling water 😶
Again! All of these snowflakes in mid-summer! Where do they all come from?
Madwife Cinda - Science has not yet concluded that animals can feel pain. I belive that includes advanced integrative neurobiology, and can you explain that?
That's how crab is done as well.
Raccoon eating a crayfish. What would you say is Humane about this?
m.ua-cam.com/video/J86GJuY9ArM/v-deo.html
