some of the people in those places are really mean, I had to stay in a hospital for three days because of a nervous breakdown, they told me that I was gonna go crazy, they use to close the doors in my face, they didn't let me make phone calls or anything, I told them its sad that you're treating your patients this way and they use to say yeah yeah whatever; I had to talk to the doctor to let me go because they use to be really mean to me, I told him if I stay here i'm gonna go crazy, so they let me go, it was really bad, and just because of a nervous breakdown, I can imagine how they are with their other patients...

I am able to relate to this song so much now. i ended up having my 5th or 6th suicide attempt this week, i lost count how many times i have tried to take my own life. woke up in the hospital having my stomach pumped and ended up in jail for a few days and i am under gps tracking. even if i did try to take my life again, what would be the point, i'll just be thrown back in a straight jacket. i barely started my life and it has been shit from the very beginning and it keeps getting worse no matter how hard i try and try and try to work towards a better tomorrow. i can't even see my gf for who knows how long or if i can ever see her again, the one person who at least made me feel like that maybe life is worth living still. the one thing i have left to go on that makes me keep going is the last text i got before i od'd and ended up getting my stomach pumped was her saying how she still loves me and that she would never leave a friend behind who is dealing with so much crap that she also deals with, so i promised myself that i will work towards a better state of mind and a brighter future now. i want to show her that i have gotten to a better place and i can finally live life for real this time. i want to show her that i have become the person she always believed i am and not the monster i believe that i am. that's my faint glimmer of hope that will keep me going this time. sorry about the rant about my bs "problems" i'm just fucking lonely right now since i am not allowed to leave my house, my phone is AWOL, losing yet another job, and i am still dealing with the shock of everything that happened throughout this week and last week and still dealing with the aftermath of the utter collapse of what was left of my sanity when i got out yesterday. i hope that anyone who reads this is doing alright.

Then again, David was kinda in a dark place between 2008-2011 with events like the motorcycle accident and one of his ex gf having a miscarriage. Since their reunion after thair hiatus, they took a more empowering focus on writing.

Even if I pretty much love all/most of Disturbed's songs, I think this song, "Asylum", seems to be one of the best songs they've made. Overall, I think that because of these things: It's dark theme, meaningful lyrics, upbeat tempo and this overall music video, all put together makes me envision that this song summarizes completely what Disturbed is all about when it comes to their songs: Dark and surreal while having truth or meaning. Also, relatively speaking, the word "disturbed" can mean to be suffering from emotional and mental problems, wherein institutions/asylums are filled with humans that have those problems; this song even fits their name! Honestly, one of the best songs I've ever heard. :D

This shit still gets me pumped in 2020. Disturbed was never anything legendary but I think of them sort of like Slayer; maybe not the greatest but they're full of energy, killer riffs, some decent lyrics, and simple beats that allow the head banging to commence. Glad I got to meet them once back in 2010-ish when they were on the AX7 Nightmare tour.

It's dark theme, meaningful lyrics, upbeat tempo and this overall music video, all put together makes me envision that this song summarizes completely what Disturbed is all about when it comes to their songs:
Dark and surreal while having truth or meaning.
Also, relatively speaking, the word "disturbed" can mean to be suffering from emotional and mental problems, wherein institutions/asylums are filled with humans that have those problems; this song even fits their name!

Asylum is definitely Disturbed’s work. Combining the heaviness of Indestructible with the melodic power of Ten Thousand Fists, the lyrical complexity of Believe and the “fuck you” attitude of The Sickness. A heavy metal masterwork.

GetScaredGaming It's complicated, we used to be friends, but I called him stupid in French, then he said "no one ever takes me seriously" and we somehow became enemies and tried to get at each other at every possible opportunity, then it became more of a joke and we said we were enemies and talked about killing each other, even though we sort of acted more like friends, so we became 'enemies' but he still gave me some sweets and I helped him learn his French homework, so I guess we're not really enemies, but he'd disagree XD

This shit still gets me pumped in 2020. Disturbed was never anything legendary but I think of them sort of like Slayer; maybe not the greatest but they're full of energy, killer riffs, some decent lyrics, and simple beats that allow the head banging to commence. Glad I got to meet them once back in 2010-ish when they were on the AX7 Nightmare tour.
