Yes! But I played Triangle Strategy and loved Bravely Default series and I’d heard this series was similar to those. I FULLY intend to go back and play the first at some point after this one, even though I have heard that the second is a completely refined system of the first, downgrade or not I’m still playing it lol. But I’m honestly grateful I played this one first, and that it is fully self contained and I didn’t need to play the first to fully enjoy it.
For extra advice for the JP augmentor, fast travel to the beasting bay anchorage in toto'haha (right continent, south area), head east and go up past an archway to find a dock. then go west from the dock to get to the island
I abused that same cave on my play through. Most of the enemies deal physical damage so Throne's Ex skill makes you invincible to them. They were very powerful captures for Ochette when my party was around level 20.
Took 11 attempts for me to get bow; worth adding - you should always attempt to flee if an encounter is triggered! I got lucky and escaped an encounter, allowing me to pickup the bow!
Suggestion another try to get evil ward from cleric sub job, it will making easier to flee from any high lvl dungeon encounter and also good to access exploiting enemy weakness while exploring
Lost tribe axe is also very fast and easy to get early with Evasive Maneuvers. Put apothecary sub job on Hikari and sweeping cleave everything to death on turn 1.
@@CoatTee I think the same thing would work with Throne or Ochette since they also have naturally high physical attack. Hikari is my boy though lol. Lost Tribe Axe + A Step Ahead + Apothecary sub job breaks the entire early/mid game so hard lol. Sweeping cleave for adds, poison axe for bosses, zero thinking lol.
Are you suggesting we only have Osvald go into this cave… I’ve got a full crew at this point Tried several times but one or other part members end up slipping.
@@CoatTee seconded. In the first game, Olberic made it easier to powerlevel with his Challenge path action and that is upgraded with Hikari able to learn skills from any opponent he beats. Cyrus and Osvald just removes the hassle of figuring out the enemy weakness. Heck you can even disregard their Analyze skill and save it for the last skill unlocked and still come out golden.
Even though this was annoying to do as I kept Getting into random encounters right before I reach the chest, I managed to get the items thanks to some lucky Flees!
There is actually a lot of useful stuff and good weapons to steal in the first few towns if you're willing to try your luck so far hasn't worked for me..... yet
@@CoatTee Mugging with Osvald is quite good because you can mug npc’s of any level. So if you’re able to barely squeeze through a fight, you get all their items
@@CoatTee my osvald is getting a bit overleveled from all the mugging. I like to steal when it's 80% or higher and I don't care about any other item the npc has for convenience. It comes in handy if you don't start with osvald or if someone's way too overleveled so like you said there's some use.
Is osvald the only character i can get evasive maneuvers with? If not then who else can use it. Also can will i be able to get these items without evasive maneuvers all together?
Heading west to the harbor. Take the ship to Toto'haha. The small island with the cave is exactly in the starting area. After receiving your items go south to the village to get Ochette and you can use the strong bow.
Is this your first octopath traveler game?
Yes fullgame but the first game i Playd the demo
@@Maximilian837 how are you enjoying it so Far?
@@CoatTee it is relly cool

In normal gameplay this isn’t necessary but if you’re doing a solo run, this is a god send (or least the JP Augmenter is)
Are you doing a solo? If so, what character are you using? Solo runs are a great way to replay the game
I’m sold! Great video I’ll be checking out all your other octopath stuff
Thank you!

True definitely should add that information. Thanks
@@CoatTee Thank-YOU for the excellent video. Got my Platinum in this game last week, and what a fantastic ride it was!

Haha, I thought I was the only one who saved, then went to the main menu. I did that to get jobs and get to towns at a low level 😂
Lost tribe axe is also very fast and easy to get early with Evasive Maneuvers. Put apothecary sub job on Hikari and sweeping cleave everything to death on turn 1.
Never thought about that! Hikari was actually the last character story I did

Thank you so much for this guide!❤
You're so welcome!
I’m already level 70 with Osvald and Hikari so I’ll walk through and fight everything
That works to, instead of early, it's easy
This game is better than the first one
Thanks for this.
I'm glad you liked it!
thanks for the tips!
Thanks just grab them. Good stuff
Thanks glad it helped
Bow is an RNG fest... took me 10+ attempts (with evasive maneuvers) and I only got it cause I got lucky on an encounter flee....
It can be tricky. It took me 2 trys to get it.
Are you suggesting we only have Osvald go into this cave… I’ve got a full crew at this point
Tried several times but one or other part members end up slipping.
Yes I would just use Osvald and to make sure you have his ability equipped
You encounter less enemies during the day time. You can switch between day and night with right trigger button.
thanks sir which character do you suggest player to start from demo ?
The best starting characters are Osvald,Ochette, and Hikari. I think because they give you most options and have really great abilities

@@CoatTee I would say Osvald, Ochette, Hikari and Partitio.
@andreasrunge9216 Yeah, for they're all very strong characters
First try LOL!
Encountered an enemy, successfully escaped and reached the chest.
Lucky me 😅😅😅
Nice 👍
Get the fire starter early for Oswald...
Even though this was annoying to do as I kept Getting into random encounters right before I reach the chest, I managed to get the items thanks to some lucky Flees!
Did the same and it worked.
How were u playing this game in 2021? Didn't this just come out
I'm confused u said two weapons but the only weapon u showed to get was the bow
Should be the one weapon and the item
@@CoatTee ah ok gotchya thanks
179 atk bow as soon as you get evasive maneuvers.
"This wont break your playthrough and make it to easy"
Are you sure?
It definitely gives you a good start, but it won't make the game too easy, although I didn't find the game too difficult in general
Only played the demo from first game. Was wondering if there was overpower weapon/equipment like the golden axe you could steal in the first game.
There is actually a lot of useful stuff and good weapons to steal in the first few towns if you're willing to try your luck so far hasn't worked for me..... yet

@CoatTee mugging is far superior than stealing in this game. Stealing is only still semi good cause of save states manipulation.
@jordankelly4684 That is true. I find myself using mug a lot more than steal in this game

Osvald is only character with evasive maneuvers you will need it to get the items at low level but can always get them when your team is leveled up
How exactly do you access it?????
From the dock head right on the beach (dont go up the Hill) until you get to the little dock, then you just head straight in the water.
took me 20 times to get bow. 🤦🏻♂️
Awe, that is very unlucky but at least you got it!
How do you get there from Osvald’s area?
Heading west to the harbor. Take the ship to Toto'haha. The small island with the cave is exactly in the starting area. After receiving your items go south to the village to get Ochette and you can use the strong bow.
@@AndreasRunge999 Thank you!
Never overpower yourself in a well balanced game. When you lose interest and quit before finishing, you will have only yourself to blame.
Naaaahh
Different strokes...don't ever let someone else tell you how to have fun.
This really isn’t game breaking. I bought an even stronger axe in Ochette’s village right after getting her.
If only they'd allow me to switch out my protagonist (Osvald) while I train my B team, my Osvald is too strong now 🤣
I had the same issue lol
Dude sounds like AI
