Does this 2011 Ford Raptor PROVE that the FIRST GEN will LAST? - Raiti's Rides

  • Ford rocked the truck world with the introduction of the Raptor. This 2011 Ford Raptor has that loved 6.2L V8 and has over 90,000 miles. How has this truck weathered over the years? Is a preowned Raptor worth the money?

    I still remember the first time I saw a Raptor pass me on the freeway in 2011. I was blown away and had no idea what the hell that truck was. I own a 2011 Raptor now.

    We bought our 2013 Raptor SuperCrew last year. It had 93,000 miles when we bought it. Now it's up to 115,000 miles. No worries, though. We bought it for the platform -- the suspension, the 6.2L engine, the truck that it is. We love it and can easily see keeping it forever. I figure that when I need to rebuild the drivetrain, I can justify the expense because we love the truck and it's one of those vehicles that should do well at collector auctions in a decade or two down the road. Very pleased with it.

    Ford Built Tough
    thats the new motto by Ford for the F150s
    The previous owner def daily this truck
    for almost 8 years old truck with 90k miles
    the exterior still look factory new
    Ford dropped the 6.2L in favor of the Coyote 5.0
    but it didnt stopped modders getting this engine and supercharged it and extract tons of horsepower from the 6.2L engine
    the interesting design of the cylinder block make it able to accept aftermarket heads if there are for the 6.2L and even the possibility of converting it to DOHC 4 valves setups for more air flow
    recently there is a rumor the Ford Raptor will see the return of the V8 but now the V8 has 7L displacement with DOHC plus Direct fuel injection
    def a direct competitor to Chevy/GM V8 in the displacement wars
    I can imagine the 7L V8 engine with a supercharger putting out easily over 1000bhp at the crank

    • @RaitisRides
      @RaitisRides  5 років тому +1

      You are so right Lin! As usual thank you so much for your extra input. I personally would love to see a Raptor with a 5.2L Voodoo engine! Now that would make for one hell of a high screaming desert running truck!

    I got taken to the cleaners on a raptor..trying to fix it.. nothing but a money pit at the moment..but..I’m in too deep right now... gotta finish it.. 2-3 days after I bought it.. the cam bolt on passenger side lower control arm slipped wheel is cockeyed but still drives without pulling.. shocks are bad too.. so.. I ordered camburg UCAs MOOG andDLP tie rod ends.. new cam bolt assembly of course , Fox 3.0 coilovers and btw.. they put a frame cut bumper.. looks like they went for utility only.. it’s solid, but ugly.. so.. I ordered frame rail replacements and I got a guy who will weld them back on.. still deciding which bumper... a lot cheaper going back to stock....but I kinda like ADD venom or race series R... oh. The idiot I bought from also but the shocks on highest perch and threw 37s on..so.. I bought 35s nitto ridge grapplers ... so yea... had I realized the suspension was so jacked .. I would have passed on it.. but the flip side is.. it will all be new

    I mean, yeah, you can tell the car is aged, and of course, the 15-19 Raptor is better in pretty much everything (except engine sound), but let's be clear, the 2014 Raptor had a base MSRP of $45K, the 2015 Raptor had a base MSRP of $55K, of course you're going to have more quality plastics and materials, and a better performing engine. If you ask me, I'd rather save the $10K and mod a 2014 Raptor with upgraded shocks and bigger wheels than spend $10K on the 2015. The 411 hp is more than enough, and with that money you save, I'm sure you could add a turbo or other enhancing components and get even more hp and torque than a stock 2015... Right now, the 15 looks much better, but give it 20-30 years, and the difference will be much less noticeable, and a V8 engine is going to be a thing of the past, you can only get in this Raptor (or the Raptor R, but that's crazy expensive)
