I’m a self taught artist too!! I started my first oil painting at 13 and sold my first portrait at 15, last year, my skills is not that great but I’m happy enough to know that someone actually bought one of my painting😂.This inspired me so much to improve more, after knowing that you are a self taught painter too and you have such such a fantastic skills!!!!! It made me hopeful that maybe someday i can be as good as you, Thank you :) ❤️
The pose is reminiscent of Girl with a Pearl Earring. I love portraits on a very dark background. This is beautiful work. Absolutely gorgeous. I wonder how many years it took you to reach this level of mastery.
Hi Zarina! You’re so relatable! I got a lot of enjoyment from listening to the ways you deal with problems as the come up, in the creation of the image. I’ve been at the easel for a long, long time. I am now free of fear to do portrait work. Always have avoided it. Your video is a true blessing for anyone to listen and absorb. Great presentation!
Nice work! I've had this video in my library for months. I started painting again and then painting fell by the wayside once more. Great inspiration to start again at starting again! You have a voice that's easy to listen to too without making me want to fall asleep! Some painting tutorials have put me to sleep inside 10 minutes.
I watched this months ago and was amazed. Just watched it again and I am still in awe. Amazing talent and fantastic job of bringing us into each brushstroke.
Thank youuuu ❤❤ I love paint and have great skills but I’ve never studdies art so sometimes I feel lost and stuck and your video help me so muchhhhh !!!!
This was extremely helpful. One of the best tutorials out there and it came at a good time. I am self taught and I’m having a hard time in learning portraits. I have a few successes and a lot of failures. I love your process especially doing a small sloppy color study. I hope you return to making videos.
I am such a big fan of Zarina and her tutorials - particularly this one. I think i've watched this about ten times. Honestly, this is the first video I've seen filmed with perfect angle and lighting ..with a super sharp resolution...I can "relate" to what's happening with each brushstroke. As if I were next to her at the easel. Thanks Zarina.
Talent at the art form and at teaching in-depth. Your humbleness was cathartic as it really made me self aware of my own personal frustrations lol Thank you. 🍻
I see your hands move. See the strokes on the canvas. And still, it's like magic. You are an amazing artist. I am constantly in awe of your work. You're so humble and encouraging. I adore your content. Please, make more ♡
Hi Zarina, I am not a painter, but I love to relax and admire painting by watching painting process videos. To me this is some kind of magic. I've watched tenths of such videos and still can not figure out how do yo do it - starting with some random black brush stroked and Voila!!! Here is a beautiful girl looking at me or a rural landscape at which I can stare for ours. You personally impressed me with with your way of not painting single hairs and still making hair look like... hair. Also rotating the canvas is a good trick, and although I understand your idea of doing that I still cannot understand how one can paint a face looking at it upside down or sideways. To my you work looked perfect until I saw you in a video. No, this is not a self-portrait by any means. You are such a beautiful and bright girl and this portrait... don't want to name it because you don't deserve it.
I just clicked a wrong button and sent the message before I finished it. I wanted to say that when I read that you are a self taught painter I was astonished. My daughter graduated the Fine Art High School in my country and a saw their annual exhibitions. Neither of them could compare to 1/100 of your mastership. Wish you a wonderful life. People like you together with the musician make me still keep my hope for humanity.
Beautiful portrait painting. I’ve had hard time getting the right ratio of skin color. I couldn’t get right colors to make skin colors and always discouraged me from painting portraits. I tried black and white portraits and it seems to be working but I want to try color. Would you be able to make a tutorial on mixing colors for skin ? That would really help. Thanks
your a beautiful artist, i,m doing my first portrait , ive been a landscape artist for 28 years , thank you for your demonstrations zarina regards trevor
Loved watching your process, very masterful! What kind of medium do you use - linseed oil? Just solvent? If so, what kind of solvent? Or maybe troynik? Thank you.
you all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Matthias Alonso i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi Zarina! Thank you for the video. I can’t, however, access your course through the link provided. Would you mind looking at it again? It might be the issue on my side..
Here are a few examples: - if your model is under sunlight then the highlight will be cool while the shadow - warm. That's a simplified version. - If we look closer, we may notice that it's common for a highlight to be cool, the light - warmer, the border between light and shadow - cooler, and the shadow - warmer. - The sides of the face also tend to look cooler. - And we shouldn't forget about veins and vessels that can give a cool or red tint.

Hi zarina, I love your work !!! You are so pale what colours do you mix for such light skin?
Hi Mrs Zarina, do you use fixative after using graphite?
Hi Zarina! Thank you for the video. I can’t, however, access your course through the link provided. Would you mind looking at it again? It might be the issue on my side..
Hi! Unfortunately, the course is long gone. Sorry about that!
Nice. I just subscribe. Can you explain how and where are the cool and warm values should be placed?😊
Here are a few examples:
- if your model is under sunlight then the highlight will be cool while the shadow - warm.
@@zarinasart Thanks so much. I get. 😊😊😊😊
Do you still sell the course? I like your style
