I'm from the Philippines, but Vietnam is my dream country. Simple country with lots of healthy foods. Banh mi is my favorite paired with Vietnamese coffee.

Yes I will buy some fruit from Shells. I could hear the crunch from the Banh Mi. Absolutely a must visit for me. When I finally go I will stay across from this river for the amazing night lights, colors and lanterns. Excellent from the moment it started until the moment it ended.

Great pictures and good editing... well done to you both. I particually like it when Shelbs is eating because then she has to stop talking. !!!!. 🙏🙏🙏🙏Max.
Hoi An is surprisingly chill. Those streets remind me of Vigan, sadly you haven't been but next time you will. That bike ride was so convenient oh my goodness, I do hope it isn't as scorching hot in Vietnam as most parts in the Philippines, I can't get over the scenery though, it's like a flower festival all year long. Wow, such a spectacular place, colorful yet serene and chill. Perfect for a holiday! #Team4KForChaseAndShelbs
We came during a festival so it was crazy busy!! 😂 but after the festival was over it was quiet and chill and really lovely! Sadly it was insanely hot! The hottest place we have been so we made sure to drink a lot of water. 🤪
Vietnam is divided into 3 regions including North, Central and South. The climate will be divided into 2, from the north to Da Nang there will be 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (winter in some places with snow). From Hoi An back to the South, the climate will be similar to that of Southeast Asian countries with rainy and dry seasons. Vietnam is always diverse from climate, scenery, people and culture so you will not be bored. Welcome to Vietnam
Salt coffee is my favorite coffee. The salty cream on top is made by whisking the fresh milk with whipping cream and little condense milk as optional. Under the salty cream, there are two layers: coffee and fresh milk. I love this kind of coffee very much since you can have fun and joy by playing with different way of drinking it, i.e stirring the whole thing up or just keep the top salt cream and string a little bit the two bottom layers. I prefer that latter since it give you more texture and tastes.
I saw that you ate snails in Hoi An and they really do! It's just a bit hard to find if you're not able to communicate with the people, but if you used a translator and asked someone in hoi an they will most likely know a great place. The small ones are so good and so many different flavors! Coconut milk kind, lemon grass kind, and etc. You can find it easily in Saigon! I miss Vietnam and their food so much.
Our Banh Mi in Toronto are thinly sliced beef, you're lucky they are a big chunk of meat. In that basket besides the rambutan that purple fruit is the best fruit you can eat in Asia. It is called Mangosteen. The shell is hard, you have to use a knife to open it and the seeds are covered with cotton like. It's medicinal fruit and tastes so good.
I'm not sure if u guys know this. The snail u ate is the river snail and there are many different types of them. It is similar to mussel, oyster, etc live in the sea but instead, they live in the river. They are not the snail that crawls and has 2 eyes on it :v (All of my UK friends thought snail is this one)
What's been difficult when I travelled Asia was the communication. I had to repeat what I just said and do some hand gestures to help me out to make people grasp of what I intend to say. But, the beauty of every country was so aesthetic that people will surely love and astound. Been a while my friends. How have you been lately? Take care guys as always. ❤️👍🇵🇭🇺🇸
It makes it challenging for sure but is also a funny experience as sometimes my translator gets very confused 😂 but regardless we enjoy trying to chat with the locals and learn more about where we are and the culture 🥰we are so good! Focusing on being healthy and doing what we love! Travelling and making videos. Hope you are well ♥️
That is Vietnam, you got to go GeForce it don’t hesitate. The street seems lawless but it's ordering. You have to go with the flow like energy, don't stop.
I know that former Vietnam vets have moved to Vietnam. Living there has brought some peace to these broken men who were used and broken by the powers who forced them to take part in the horrors of war. Sounds like a good place to relocated for many Americans as the US continues to devolve into hell.
Nice video as usual. in Hoi An there is a banh mi shop where late Anthony Bourdain from CNN recommanded for those who like banh mi. He has been with former President Obama to eat bun cha in Hanoi. Be safe. From Paris, France
Tip for crossing street in Vietnam: Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! motor-bykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not runs and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid of and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.

you can not cap size a ball that's why those boat are round and people work in them, and in the river they use skinny long tail boat for speed lest drag so small engine can push up to speed
1:00 I'm not sure if it was intentional, but you guys went to a vegan Banh Mi shop. With so many different types of good meats to try in banh mi, vegan is the last thing I would buy 🤣 hope it was good tho. Also the meat Shelby was not pate, Vietnamese pate is a creamy buttery liver spread similar in vain to braunschweiger or liverwurst. One typically spreads pate along with Vietnamese butter onto the bread before adding the meat and veggies. Also that meat was most likely supposed to be "Cha lua" (vietnamese pork ham/sausage), but again since this shop was Vegan so it is probably imitation meat. Definitely try the real thing somewhere and you'll be blown away "Banh Mi Pate Cha Lua" (Banh Mi w/Pate & Cha Lua), it's one of the most basic hard to go wrong Banh Mi's you can get. Not my favorite tho, as there are sooooo many good grilled & other types of meat to try. Let me know if you need suggestion for Banh Mis to try. 5:50 every day in Vietnam I need a plain old Cafe Sua Da in my veins, nothing special needed, Coffee + Condensed Milk + Ice, and I'm good to go! You guys really have a warm go-get it vibe that makes it so fun to watch!
I think the banh mi place ya got were vegetarian, they made the “meat” out from tofu I believe 🥰 because the store name is “banh mi chay” means vegetarian banh mi.
You come in and eat a vegetarian sandwich for vegetarians who follow Buddhism or are vegetarians who don't eat meat, and the dish is made from soybeans, vegetables, and mushrooms of each other.
@@ChaseandShelbs That's vegan Banh Mi, believe me, I'm a Hoianese. =)) Because mahayana buddhism has taken a deep root in Vietnam for thousands of years, local people have centuries for inventing vegan food that taste just like meat, perfecting if generations after generations (with some help from modern technology, of couse). @@ChaseandShelbs I've never had vegetarian food from VN, but I heard that they made it such that it tastes so much like meat. You guys proved it out. Most likely, it's tofu. See if you can find vegetarian bacon over there; that would be the ultimate win for me: all of the taste and none of the fat.
It is not a small boat. It's a bamboo basket. In the 20th century, the French invaded Vietnam, they taxed boats very high, making fishermen unable to live. They came up with it because it couldn't be called a boat. It is passed on as a cultural trait.😅😅😅
