She was great on Love. One of my favorite shows in a while
Anthony Jacob do you maybe know a rebound show because i cant find anything to watch
Try "Man Seeking Woman". It's an FX show starring Jay Baruchel and Eric Andre. Super underrated and definitely worth a shot if you liked Love.
Why is her ability to do hair and makeup prerequisite for the role? She's not going to be the one doing it for the film. You should still be able to tell that she's pretty.
I don't think it's a prerequisite so much as it's this - the goal of an audition is to make yourself look, sound, behave, etc so much like the character you're portraying that you seem like the only choice for the role. Your best chance to get a part is to BECOME the role in the minds of the casting director, director, writer, etc. so that it seems like it was written FOR you. It sounds as though she was auditioning for "done up" type roles, and getting the makeup done at Barney's was making it that much easier for the directors to see her as the part. I'm sure on the other hand, if she was auditioning for a tomboy type, it wouldn't make sense to show up in an evening gown. If she was on the other end of the spectrum than the character she was going in for, it probably made it harder for the directors to imagine her as the character. I'm sure the same thing goes for men, if they're going for the rugged, rough and tumble mechanic, it's probably best to go in with some stubble and a casual shirt, or if they're auditioning for James Bond, wear a tux. All about perception. The closer you can be in the audition to the character you'd like to portray, from looks down to voice down to quirks and personality, the better chance you have to get a role. It's just as much psychological as it is skill.
I think it's more on the lines on that there are 200 girls auditioning for a role, so if you have a talented actress and a talented actress who looks just a tiny bit better you'll go for the latter.
Because the producers who ultimately decide who gets the part care more about sex than talent.
Not pretty enough? WTF?
Hollywood's got skewed standards, man.
She is average-looking in terms of beauty standards but she embodies sexuality more than other women so I'd cast her for "sexually manipulative" roles too. But not as a beauty queen.
ThomasMueller999 if she’s average looking where you live I want to be there
@@sleptking1707 Oange County California, Orange Coast College. Go there and no matter where you go after your standards will be forever skewed
@@qs4177 if you come to Europe , specially Scandinavian and Baltic countries your standards will be too damn high. I swear every girl in this country from age 20 to 40 looks like a Victoria Secret model.
She is my favorite actress right now. I am in love with her.
Casting directors can be the cruelest people. I' ve had more than one casting director tell me, to my face, that I was ugly or tell me I was pretty, but then explain why they wouldn't pick me because of this-and-this other physical flaw. It hurt me so much at the time, but now I'm just like.... in what world is that at all appropriate to say to anyone?--much less, a STRANGER! And as though these arbitrary physical flaws had anything to do with my performance ability or anything else... it's just so shitty. That's a big reason I went into voice acting instead lol.
This is still what it's like today. Whether you do Film, TV, theater, musical theater; this is what it feels like to be a young woman trying to break into the industry.
So why? What for?
She is awesome on Love. I was very pleasantly surprised with how awesome that show is.
Gillian Jacobs is amazing. Love is one of the best shows around.
Aw poor girl. Heart to you from one nerd to another
Sure, cow.
@@thisismyname3928 what?
Gillian Jacobs?
Not sexy enough?
On what planet?
she's so lovely!
not a single dislike. says a lot.
grats u just gave the video dislikes smh
when she recalls acting at flirting successfully she demonstrates leering , but when she reenacts her awkward phase she does the nerd sneer of indignation, and she tops it off by describing sidling as her turning point! incredible actor
It was like she really took those movement classes to heart! No shade meant, as she was speaking she was illustrating what she was saying with her movements. It was great.
She’s so freaking adorable.
Britta FTW!
Oh, Britta's in this!
You’re not clever

she lived in new york
WOW, she's so gorgeous!!! ❤
It infuriates me so much that this is what the industry is like! As someone who want’s to go into acting. And these casting directors should be ashamed of themselves. Gillian is such an amazing actress and wholesome person i’m glad she didn’t let those bad moments keep her from doing what she loves.
I get lost in those big beautiful eyes of hers
So beautiful
Probably the only actress who is quite unaware of her beauty and popularity.
She's beautiful
Gillian Jacobs. Not pretty enough.
Let THAT sink in.
She looks like Lana Del Rey when she's in monochrome like this.
I feel sorry for her :(
everybody strut...strut...😀😁
2:17.... WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH HIS KNEE?!?!?
lazylank Camera focus
this game is so insanely, overtly sexist
The kids sold it because they wanted to cashiers check so they signed it away that day. My grandpa's lawyer knows my family will kill him if he sells away what he knows is mine
I prefer her as a brunette.
so?
I do a lot of pushups. Does that count?
she reminds me of jigsaw, the guy on the tricycle
She Brittad it
What's with her eyes? The pupils are, like, huge
I think it's just the black and white. There's something really unique about her eye color in color photos of her.
Oscar Mozhayskij
Yes. And they are perfect and beautiful! ❤
She's in love with Life.
She has huge beautiful blue eyes :)
Acting is a fucked up business.
She Britta'd it. 🙄
"Just describe the time when you did get the part and then you made 100X the national median salary in a month..." If everyone loved their jobs all unhappiness would end.
So not hurting for resources then.
lol like every woman^^
Dada13409 if that’s your opinion, I feel sorry for you. It means you’re such an awful person that real women avoid you.
So self obsessed
She's answering interview questions...if you have an issue here, surely it's with the interviewer?
Only on UA-cam will you see someone call a person self obsessed for talking about herself DURING AN INTERVIEW.
