Wo-Long did something similar by making the first boss of the game extremely difficult. Sort of as a skill check I assume. I'm still struggling with this boss. Try again tomorrow.
Yea you're right you really had to have the deflections down to progress. I don't think pieta is as tough and there are more defensive options here at least
As melee this boss has ruined the game for me. It randomly does stuff like shoot beams out making it where there is no pattern and I get torn up.
I found her much easier with the hallowed knight than the cultist the damage resistance between your armour and shield means when you block/parry almost nothing penetrates and you regen with 1 or 2 slashes
Is very easy boss I beat her in my third try
While i enjoyed this boss, compared to any other souls like she's easily the toughest tutorial boss
This is an excellent video, good tips and advice..I’m not great at parrying either, it looks like the key to getting her health down. I’ll change my approach a bit..thank you for the help 👍
The parry feels so natural in this game. I had a satisfying invasion where it ended when the guy parried me and riposted after I had parried him to near death. I enjoy invasions so much because the oponents right now feel like they're at my level.
In my mind I have always been so eager to get into souls likes but none have caught my eye until this one….this is my first souls like and this boss is giving me such a hard time and at this point I feel like I’ve wasted my money so thank you for this video. I’m going to try and slap her cheeks up again today
2 things that work for me when coming up against any boss in a souls like is first, don't try to win on your first 2-3 attempts just try to survive. This does 2 things one you won't be as frustrated as your goal was to die anyway and you'll naturally get better at not dieing for your next attempts, unless you're doing it live like on my channel take a break. whenever I have slept on it, the morning after I always do MUCH better. Try the Jedi games, I just finished Survivor and it was amazing. Fallen Order is what got me into Souls like. I prefer faster paced ones like Jedi, Surge 2, Bloodborne and this.
@@TheLuckyShepherd I tried but I couldn’t get into it. I like the darker tones of Star Wars and Fallen Order just didn’t do it for me….BUT I just fought Pieta and got her health below half!!!! Haha so tonight I’m going to push to get the job done and will update you all!!!!!

I finally beat her by changing my character to the dark crusader and I managed to beat her
Get your 4 or 5 hits back up and go in and 4 5 hits repeat that thats the key 🔑 to this game
I seem to do almost no damage to her in her 2nd form, so annoying as I like strenght builds in souls games and rely on getting two good hits in when there is an opening but it seems harder than usual in this and I dont have the patence to play slow.
You in the nerfed version of this boss or something? She does no damage to you or the NPC. I die in 2 hits and this boss has 4 one hits.
What nerfed version, was recorded this morning. Sounds like you should listen when i said pay attention to your health and defenses
