- The U.S. attempt to challenge the one-China principle is just wishful thinking, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday, in commenting on recent remarks made by some U.S. officials concerning the status of Taiwan in distortion of historical facts and in violation of international law.

US prefers strategic ambiguity in language and actions.
The United States is interested in having two Chinas, which is what it does to North and South Korea. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) challenges the US's responsibility as the principal occupying power and sovereign of Taiwan.
To understand Taiwan/China relationship, we need to understand the purpose of UN 2758 and the background it based on. Here is some history:
In 1945, at the end of World War II, the Republic of China (ROC) under Chiang Kai-shek, on behalf of the Allied Powers, accepted the surrender of Japanese troops in Taiwan, putting Taiwan under the control of a Chinese government again after 50 years of Japanese rule!
The war between PRC & ROC is a civil war. In 1949, ROC got kicked out of mainland and exile to Taiwan!
In 1971, UN 2758 was established to settle the dispute, between PRC and ROC, which one is the legitimate representative of China! It is based on the fact that, historically culturally and geographically, both sides of the Taiwan strait, are part of China! Since it ruled that PRC mainland is the only legitimate representative of China, so Taiwan belongs to PRC mainland! 2758 has the supports of more than 180 countries including US & its allies superseding any treaties, documents and agreements!
Currently, the Biden administration tried to discredit 2758 by introducing its own law One China Policy denying Taiwan belongs to China! It is absurd for the following reasons:
(1) US law is not international law, if US wants to revise UN 2758, go through UN first - US one China policy is illegitimate! It has nothing to do with UN 2758!
(2) It takes two to tangle! If Taiwan is not part of China, what is 2758 for??? No way that the representatives of those 194 countries are that stupid working their asses off days & nights for nothing! It is logical impossible that Taiwan is not part of China as US one China policy proclaimed!
(3) By US's one China policy logic, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Texas ... do not belong to US!
When 180+ countries in UN spoken, it become an international law! Taiwan belongs to PRC mainland! Abide by it!
Taiwan relations act, no need to say anything more.

Taiwan wants to be Independent China Should respect that, all the other countries area China should all like in peace with current defence agreements in place. Thats that. USA should butt out of the rest of Chinas internal affairs & focus more on supply education to its own citizens health care, Taxing rich closing loopholes, giving low tax relief to Low & middle class, infrastructure etc . Working with China to stabilise global trade & peace if America war machine would allow it.
