Just a reminder that the CGQ Discord chat is not some kind of Patreon and/or channel member-only kind of deal. I just don't post the link publicly as a spam and troll control measure. If you want to check it out, just shoot me an e-mail for the link. The e-mail address is on the channel's "About" page.
CGQ+ I misspoke in this video. “Oktoberfest” beers are of course märzens and not helles lagers, which are just standard light lagers. “Helles” literally means “light” in German.
Local post office here used to have MC Escher's original Metamorphosis III hanging on the wall near the ceiling behind the counter. Loved going there. It got removed a few years back and I think it's at Schiphol airport now. Amazing work to see in person, because it's fairly large.
Chris, you are often hard on yourself for a great number of things in these videos. I know you are just in front of the camera being yourself, so instead of trying to convince you that it isn't necessary... I just want to say I really appreciate your thoughtfulness as a creator/curator of these great videos you have been making for so long. You are one of the last real UA-camr's left in this genre, and it is a real treasure to see a new video from you regardless of the time span between episodes.
Thanks Chris really appreciated the surprise video drop, nice to see the pick-up/video game play-even though you aren’t planning on doing pick-ups anymore...👍
Great video Chris! It was a nice treat to see you did some gameplay...I was like: the video is ending with 30 min left?? And then BAM, a sweet surprise! Thanks again for all the hard work! Love watching these things!
Chris i really do appreciate the work you do on both channels. Its a refreshing break from lifes routines when you upload a new video, thankyou sir, and take care.
Awesome game! I need to get back to playing Turrican on the MiSTer. I totally passed these games by back in the day and watching you play them had gotten me into trying them all out. Great entertainment as always and thanks for the video.
No idea how the Mega Drive Fan 'Let's Read' video did in terms of engagement, but personally I thought it was really cool and would definitely be interested in more foreign/non-English magazine read throughs.
Some of the best Van Damme movies were directed by Peter Hyams (Timecop, Sudden Death), by my favorite is Nowhere to Run, featuring young Kieran Culkin.
Fun to hear that you have more Swedish subscribers! I think you did pretty well on your second try at “Jönköping ” :) Those Swedish magazines are very representative of the way we got our news before Internet took over. Since we first only got news from the official Nintendo source we weren’t aware of the possibility to import. This changed during the SNES era with ads in magazines like Super PLAY. Sweden wasn’t always behind on releases, in the 80’s we were the first in Europe to get the NES. That’s why NES was way bigger than Master System here. Turrican is great, I guess the reason it didn’t sell in the US partly is because it plays differently from regular console run’n guns. With no invulnerability after a hit you can die very fast, and level structure is also unconventional. This makes the early Turrican games less of pick up and play material. When you learn to play they are awesome though! Cool that the shoot ‘em up levels of Turrican II are replaced with new platform ones. It’s kind of exclusive unofficial new Turrican levels!
Tjena!
29:30 Hey, man, having the manual is 80% of the battle for CIB'ing Sega Genesis games. BTW, I was browsing Amazon, and they were schilling this magazine with your doppelganger on the cover. You seem to be wearing more Polo than flannel-pattern shirts these days, but I see a resemblance besides the obvious difference. I recommend looking up the cover of September/October 2020 Poets & Writers. It might be good for a chuckle.
Hey Chris keep up the great content brother! You always do a good job in your production quality and videos, trust Me, we are all plowing thru 2020 the best we can. Cheers from Colorado and stay safe out in Cali man! 🍻💪😎 #JCVD
Maybe you can get magazines from the same year, same month but from different regions, and compare what there talking about, or showing if you can't read them.
I'm not sure. After Tower closed, the building was taken over by another local record store chain called "Dimple Records", but now that's closed as well, so I don't know what's there at this point.
@@CGQPlus for some reason I remember being in that store late 2019 and it still has the Tower Globe and broken brick wall in the middle of the store but it was a GW. Maybe I'm remembering the location wrong though.

Please make a video of SNES in 1992.
I don't see the email address... Maybe I'm blind 🤨

Good to see a new upload. Hope you’re well during these dark times.

Belgian beer is also very good.
Thank you so much for new content!
You have no idea how good it is to hear your voice again. Hahaha.
:) Thank you.
I love my CGQ. Thanks for all the hard work. I am always looking for your content to come out. Thanks Chris. That beer looks good.

What a nice surprise on a Friday! Thanks Chris! Hope you're getting along alright up there!
Happy to see a new episode. Always enjoy your content. And a good beer while watching makes it better.

Next 10 is great. Hopefully we get another one soon.
Good to see you. Feel better, we’re all with you.
It’s always darkest before the storm.
Great music.

Sawdust is WHAT?!
Oh, I just didn't wait long enough lol
Amiga for the win! Good times

Jean-Claude Van Damme is the longest name that hasn't ever been acronym'd. If you told someone you ran into JCVD at TJ Maxx they'd be lost.
A Swedish enclave in Central California... Hmm, something tells me they probably had a low Crime Rate...
Why’s that?
Get in that groove, baby!
I'll be drinking my Fest biers tonight at Dancing Gnome :)
Isn't the original Tower Records a Goodwill now?

You're talking about the original Tower Records location in Sacramento, right?
@@CGQPlus yea but I could absolutely be wrong.
I'm pretty sure it's the one on Watt right

oh man glitter, haha
Yeah. It’s a great shirt because I love the smell of sawdust and I absolutely can’t stand glitter.
Putin’ on a Clinic!!
Haha, nice.
