  • The DTF Industry is about to take another turn. This is an absolute wake up call to everyone using this DTF Powder specifically. DTF powder is a major Problem and it is now confirmed that this stuff can cause cancer. Use full protective equipment including a respirator, eye protection, and even ear protection. I will be using an entire suit moving forward when Dtf printing. I advise you to do the same. Click the link below to watch the full video of Brother Ernest Waning us about his Anaplastic Cancer Cause by DTF Powder.

Prayer for him. Currently, there are no studies or cases indicating that DTF powder can cause cancer, at least within the knowledge of the DTF community and industry. However, this does not mean you should neglect safety precautions. It has been repeatedly advised to wear gloves, use masks, work in well-ventilated areas, or use fume extractors when working with DTF, DTG, Sublimation or any other method.
Any product that produces fumes requires protective measures, not just DTF. Failing to take these precautions is done at one's own risk, similar to how long-term smokers risk lung cancer, how firefighters risk inhaling harmful smoke or everyday items, including processed foods containing toxins, pose health risks.
When a certified doctor publishes a case study on this matter, the DTF community will evaluate the findings, and factories will likely need to implement big changes. For now, in my opinion, there is no need for panic. The key is understanding how to work safely and ensuring you are adequately protected.

Thank you for being honest. I am glad you were brave enough to publicly speak facts. I am one that held off purchasing a dtf printer and chose a white toner.
I’m a nurse and we cannot use baby powder or any talc on our patients. Inhaling baby powder can be harmful so imagine this toxic powder.
I’m holding off until these printers have improved user protections . Until then, I’ll have a company make transfers for me.

Where the DTF powder is a Polyurethane TPU in general its non toxic, but the fumes when heated at a certain temp usually above 250C can be toxic, but so can your inks and film as well. So the key point in all of this is, stay safe and have more than adequate ventilation and extraction systems in place and exactly what Alan said proper ppe when handling powder and fumes, I will be following suite and discussing this as well in my next video ... Alan thanks for the video and neutral stance you took.

OMG Ernest was a guy that convinced me to not go down the path of DTF when I first started. Mainly because it was such a PITA with clogging. It gave me the flashbacks of the PTSD I have from my old Epson 4900 photo printer clogging constantly and costing big $$$$. Man what a bummer on DTF. I don't think I will even offer it now to not take advantage of you guys that are making it.

I don’t trust them at all. Until the right agency investigates, I would not trust them. Heat pressing this stuff may also cause cancer because of the fumes you breathe in, especially in a not well ventilated bedroom.

I enjoy ordering transfers, and rarely do the DTF hack right next to the door that leads into my garage. I have that door open when I’m pressing sublimation designs. If dust particles get on my desk, I clean it up. You can’t see it, but it gets there in the air.
    I take it seriously.

As a content creator you have to be more responsible with the content that you put out. DTF powder is made from a polyester resin made of polyurethane the base of the same things that your house is made of. It is true that it can be harmful or swallowed, left on your skin for too long or if it gets on your eyes but there is absolutely no research to show that is causes cancer. I’m sympathetic that this has happened to someone but we don’t know the extent of the environment that he’s in, or where he’s been that would allow him to attract such a sickness, a health official on his behalf has not even confirmed if what he’s saying is the case, and you just take it and run with it for some views or so that other will be afraid to make transfers and buy them from, you? You did throw that pitch in there. Thousands of people own DTF machines and this is the 1st we’ve heard of this and you guys jump at the chance to make a video without doing the proper research. If you swallow bleach or leave it on your hands it can harm you, all I’m saying is know more or do the proper research before putting this out there

great video warning people! But just a heads up if you want to keep working with this stuff you have to shave your beard bro. I worked with toxic thermoset resins in my 20s and NYC health dept required us to be clean shaven to wear the fitted HEPA masks. When you think about it it makes sense: when your beard is separating the mask rubber to your face the beard becomes an easier path for fumes are particles to pass through than the HEPA filter. For those that wouldn't shave they offered the full head hazmat bag that your entire head goes in connected to an air tube. Great channel btw!

Is there a risk to buying dtf hang sheets and pressing them at home?

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  5 місяців тому

No one knows but I highly doubt it. Pressing DTFs is probably safer than second hand smoke or smelling house hold cleaning agents but…. We do not know for sure. No one knows.

companies probably aint gonna change much in selling this stuff if anything or i think they might do is put disclaimers/ buyer beware up on product pages. Hope thats not the case and hope maybe some go back to the drawing table and maybe find other sources to make this stuff safer

They have the technology. Gonna cost us more but I’ve seen sealed off enclosures to protect from the powder going everywhere. The thing is setting up and taking all the safety measures isn’t all on them. People don’t want to spend the extra money on protecting themselves. Most people just want the cheapest dtf printer. Or the cheapest anything sublimation, dtg, embroidery machine. 3everyone just wants the cheapest. The companies cater to the demand. Demand safely and we will get safety. It’s gonna cost more though. People ain’t ready for that. So what do we do.

@@adubbproductions that’s good to hear and agree, I recently got a laser not long ago and one of the things I looked for was for something more enclosed and even with that ended up adding inline fan to help push fumes out.

When i use the powder to make transfers.i go outside to make transfers...was thinking about getting a dtf machine... I think i will wait now...
The fumes from a heat press gotta be bad also....
I see the funes like 2nd hand smoke from a cigarette...
I can see steam sometimes while heat pressing.
Since we started tiktok shop, we have been using dtf transfers because of the 3 day time frame..
    Thanks for the information..
    God bless mr earnest....

ALLEN! Brother I have literally been putting off buying DTF equipment because of your warnings and thoughts on what the fumes and powders may cause without the proper setup/equipment. These talks are especially important when DTF is being pushed EVERYWHERE on TikTok and other socials right now. I really appreciate your videos and Insight on anything business. Keep up the great work 🫡

Thanks for sharing this information. A lot of us crafters have tried dtf hacks in the home where our pets also reside. If your pets are like mine, wherever I am they are. Make sure they're not around when using dtf powder also. I know 1st hand that dogs can get just about every illness we do. I just lost one of mine to cancer last Nov. Praying for Brother Earnest.
