Looks and sounds like a minute Super Hornet. Absolute wondrous machine. Knight Flight, watching it fly gave me goose bumps!!!. Prime example of one size fits all.: advanced trainer, light attack jet. Simply amazing air display!!!. I want it for Spain as a replacement for the outdated SF-5M.
Israel bought the M346, then it must be good, Israel makes different trials and tests, they buy only things they know it's top! I always watch what they are purchasing, to know how good something is, because they have one of the largest spy agency,,, only behind the US, so when they buy something i'm sure they have already enough info from their Intel sources
This is not only a italian design! It was first developed by the russian company "Yakowlew". In 1993, the italian company "Aermacchi" joined the programm, but in 2000 the companies ran into friction, so the programms got split, after Aermacchi payed 77 million Euro to Yakowlew. As result we have today these very similar looking, but different planes Yak-130 and M-346. In my opinion the two worldwide best existing jet trainers.

Le 346 bien équipé est une arme redoutable quoi qu'on en dise. Les suisses auraient bien fait de l'acquérir plutôt que cette usine à gaz volante (et encore de temps en temps) qu'est le F-35

Dobbiamo essere orgogliosi dei nostri.da piccolo andavo da un mio zio che durante la guerra era mitragliere sul gobbo volante e abbattuto sopra Malta e rimasto sul canotto per 48 ore prima di essere recuperato..bhe vicino c'è l'aeroporto e all'epoca erano i g91 come caccia. Facevano dei numeri e degli incroci radenti il suolo posso assicurarti che era uno spettacolo..buona serata.namaste' buona vita a te

In Italy (I believe also in Israel, Poland and others) it's used as an (advanced) training aircraft but I read that some country is buying the combat version too (who knows if it's as good as the training one).
Really looking forward to seeing this aircraft display in Bray Airshow 2022 in Ireland. It is going to be the very first time ever for this aircraft to visit our country. And it will be very manouverable, fast and really loud.
Sadly for operational reasons it didn’t make it to the Bray Airshow 2022 but it hasn’t been confirmed for this year’s show. Hopefully in the future in could come to Ireland in 2024

All major Soviet designer bureaus participated but only two projects were chosen: from Yakovlev and Mikoyan-Gurevich. After collapse of the USSR both bureaus had a deficit of funding and as result Yakovlev chose Alenia as a partner and Mikoyan-Gurevich was working with French companies. At some point Alenia left the project and took the blueprints. Finally Yak-130 was chosen by Russian Air Force over MiG-AT. In the end the aircraft has a Russian DNA: the concept and the airframe. The avionics and engines are different. So Yak-130 can't be a copy in any possible way as the concept was there way before Alenia has joined. And the airframe is very "commie".

The problem with the Leonardo's plane isn't that it's a fine aircraft, because it is. The problem is KAI/Lockheed-Martin design and KAI now builds the FA-50. It's similar cost, with a Mach 1.5 spec, and can out turn any fighter at dogfight speeds. Leonardo really needs to up the ante to build a faster more competitive fighter/trainer. Much like Boeing, they are producing a less desirable plane, and the USA will find that out.
T-50 Golden Eagle is basically improved, thoroughly modernized and simplified YF-16, which in turn - in original spec and with GE-developed thrust vectoring - could pull crazy ass stunts near X-31 or Su-27 family. Case is, that while as PURE TRAINER M-346 will be superior, FA-50 is better choice for most thrifty Air Forces because it can actually fight.

T-346 is the twin brother of the YAk- 130 BBC Russian Air Force. T-346 should be the next plane of PAN Frecce Tricolori, after the MB339
