Quebec, Canada has a hugely well respected death and progressive metal scene. Quo Vadis was just one of the many bands to create brilliant metal. I would recommend checking out the song Dysgenics. Interesting note about the Defiant Imagination album is that the famous Steve DiGiorgo is on bass.
I don't typically get into death metal being a fan of the melodic. I lean more towards hair metal, power metal, prog rock and metal, hard rock and even jazz. But I heard this song on a sampler when it was released and thought that opening growl was hilarious. And being a prog metal fan, I definitely could appreciate the skill of these band members, especially the drummer on the ride and double bass. Love the song. Still listen to this day. Clicked on the video immediately when I saw the title. Couldn't believe Shane was reacting to this gem. Bravo.
I saw these guys play in Montreal around 07 that’s was my graduation gift to my self to see them.LOL they released two albums and called it quits.I appreciate you doing this song 🤘🏻
Hey bro, you're one of the very few who have reacted to this great song. If you're up for it I can recommend some other amazing songs for you. I apprecatie you for doing this. By the way I just have to mention that Joachim is pronounced wa-keem.
I work with and am good friends with the Drummer from Quo Vadis, Yanic Bercier and he is a legend. Quo Vadis is no more but he has a new band called Gone in April, while a little different in sound than Quo Vadis, they are fantastic, bring great talent from all over. Yanic is a metal great and even has his own recording studio called Wavetransform Studio. One of the fastest feet in the business! Love that guy and his music!!
Still one of the best bands from my childhood grew up listening to them but never got to see them live. My older brother did a time or two apparently it was quite the show.
It's not Quo Vadis from Poland. It's Quo Vadis from Quebec, Canada. If you want check out the real Polish Quo Vadis check their cover of Pretty Woman (ua-cam.com/video/wNKhj3v_IsU/v-deo.html) or their song Dominus (ua-cam.com/video/kVMhAGvV8L4/v-deo.html)
The guitarist , cant remember the name, but I watched a show where his knees gave out and he was held up by a roadie for the rest of the show. He wrote the music with the drummer, yanic beircer(sp).
Saw them live several times between 2000 and 2008 in Northern Ontario, Canada. Had the chance to meet them after show and got my copy of Defiant Imagination signed by the band. Every time I saw them play live they ended with the song "Legions of the Betrayed" from the album "Forever" and the place would go nuts! These guys were icons in the metal scene up here and I'm glad I had the chance to see them play live. We always pronounced the name QUO - VA - DISS (try to say it with a French-Canadian accent haha!) They are from Quebec, Canada. Not Poland.
im from Montreal and now I listen to Hip Hop rip me haha listen to Half Moon run jokes aside favorite boy, then again, call me in the afternoon plz thx, all three great from Montreal as well great reaction thx
The picture that you used is different band named "Quo Vadis " actually. They're playing trash metal ,from poland. This song belongs to Canadian Quo Vadis, they're pretty tech death group. both great group tho.
Wrong image. it was not the good band. Yanic Bercier the drummer was in the band Gone in April now and it easy to find live performance of Quo Vadis on UA-cam.
If they are from Quebec (as Alexi stated), it might be pronounced VAH-DEE. Other than that, this offering is a pass for me all across the board. However, I will say I was watching X Games while listening and it seemed to be an appropriate soundtrack for the BMX Dirt Best Trick competition!
Highly underrated band, especially the drummer! He's got a doctorate in physics!
Yanic bercier(sp?) Is an amazing drummer. He still plays. Quo Vadis broke up a while back but Yanic still kills it with a few different metal bands.

One thing that’s interesting about this song is that it’s played in E standard tuning. Rare for a death metal song.
Yanic becier, one of the best drummers. His new band is Gone in April. Definitely worth a listen.
Dr. Yanic Bercier, PhD of physics; radiosurgery, physics engineering, and of course, drummer.
I got their live DVD just for his drum-cam only footage!
🤘

I've been waiting for this song for years. You are the first I've seen react to it.

Medley?
3 albums I believe but I seen them 2x as well! Great band
It's Steve DiGiorgio on bass, that's why it sounds so badass
I listen this band since I'am kid, then long time ago. We can't do better I thnik so.
I have heard about this band, but I think this was the first song I've heard about them. Sounds great. I need to check more.

On oué deux ( Nous sommes deux)
The best Quo Vadis album is Day into night and all the song are epic
Live in Montreal is a must.
Just watch the full live. But you've understood everything.
Hail from Normandy.
Also, this song was recorded and performed on a fretless bass, the bassist on there last tour was a hired bassist who could play a fretless bass.

The band's name is in Latin and not in French.
