One small thing I low-key love about Bellroy's pouches: The curved top. When I'm packing a backpack for a short trip, I feel like I'm often packing pouches last, and the curve makes them fit just that extra bit better than a squared-off pouch when you want to pack them upright at the very top of most backpacks near the zipper. Nice little touch I appreciate.
I’ve been thinking recently that I could do with something on my desk to hold my phone, reading glasses, earbuds, eyedrops, iron tablets etc. This looks perfect for the job. Thanks for the review.
Just bought one during their Black Friday sale. I love that it stands up and it fits all my chargers. I think it has just enough pockets, for me other pouches go way overboard with all the pockets.
I really dislike how uninformative Bellroy website sometimes is. Like this weight thing. Or how it is sometimes impossible to determine what material certain color variations of products are made of. Just list the damn specs for each product Bellroy. That means fabric material, denier, weight, dimensions. Don't obfuscate it by linking to some BS "advertisement" subpage about your materials.
This. I ordered the Transit Workpack in the charcoal colorway based on aesthetics and found it was a pet hair magnet. Returned for the black which has a completely different feel and works perfectly for me. No way to know that from the website 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Aaron, we really appreciate your effort to support the community who loves bags, but we will more appreciate if you can try out all the time MX master 3, because like that we cannot know if it will fit or not, its more bigger than magic mouse. And I think a lot of people out there using it.
Aaron try the Alpaka Toiletry bag, I picked it up while travelling and it’s great as a tech pouch, even though that’s not its main purpose. Plus it’s self standing and the zip is lovely. You will like it. Bit small but somehow it can store a lot.
Hello Aaron, Firstly thanks very much for the videos & reviews much appreciated mate!! I can see you did a review of the Bellroy Tech Kit a while back.. how do you think the two products compare please? (Tech Kit Vs. Desk Caddy) do you think you’ll be doing a comparison review at all (maybe with other pouches in the mix)..? I’d love that but I’d obviously appreciate even a quick written review Thanks again Cheers, Aymen
thanks man! No comparison video and I don't have either pouch with me right now as I'm traveling, but I do prefer the Desk Caddy as it self stands very well and has a much thinner/less bulky build
Rocked a Uni Style Fit 0.28 pen a few years back for the sleek and minimalist design with very sharp writing. Switched to a Uni Jetstream 0.38. Feels much better in the hand since its more ergonomic. The style fit would be a nice travel pen though. Might bring out my old ones to use
@@Nomads.Nation Lol. You watch a video about a travel wallet and see a pen, then it's all downhill from there. Nice to see the variety of youtube channels though that cater to ultra-niche subjects. There's a channel that even compares different types of pen inks. Your video reminded me of my 0.28 uni style fit pen that I had hidden in one of my dopp kits. Will be using it on my next adventure!
Disappointed that there's no magnets for the flap. Best desk caddy ive used is Evergoods CAP2. Waiting for Kickstarter Alpaca vertex pouch to ship to see if its better
This review was shot months ago and only now got published. Since then I bought the CAP2 and Alpaka sent me a Vertex early. My thoughts are as follows. - Vertex is best if you want to carry over the head headphones in it. I do, so this is my go-to of the 3 - CAP2 is probably the best designed and overall best product out of all of them, but is a bit heavier - Desk Caddy feels the lightest of the three and has the best aesthetic
I’m curious to know if the hidden pocket was meant for an AirTag or Tile…. Personally, I’m more into the Evergoods CAP2 guy but Bellroy is pretty solid classy design.
agreed that the CAP2 would be an ideal alternative. 2 reasons I didn't include it 1) we only list bags we've actually reviewed for alternatives 2) we hadn't reviewed any CAP bags at this point (this review is actually from a while back) CAP2 is def a top-tier alternative for this pouch
Evergoods makes the gold standard for a desk caddy (CAP2), and now Alpaka who have copied it and added a couple of additional useful features. Don't look beyond for a desk caddy pouch.
Agree and disagree. The CAP2 is def considered to be one of the best, and Alpaka definitely copied it and improved it in some ways, but many people will still prefer how casual, simple and light the Bellroy Desk Caddy feels in comparison to the other two.
I have the CAP2 and I like it all right for trips and overnight, but it's too bulky and utilitarian for me if I'm working remotely at a cafe when tabletop real estate is vital.
You point out that not listing the weight is annoying, then proceed to not tell us how much it weighs? :P Love your reviews but can't consider a review complete without listing weight (ideally independently verified even if it is listed by manufacturer).
The leather is vegan leather…. so it isn’t leather it’s a plastic tab looking like leather. Leather is leather and that’s made from dead cows hides. Plastic is made from oil 😝

Great call!

it'll be perfect for that, thanks for watching!

Hell yea

glad to help!

agreed
I am a .3mm pen person. I love the Energel .3mm refill in a Zebra Sarasa body.
This is the sort of pen-nerdness I need to start getting into lol
Have it in bronze and love it since first day, two years ago.
It’s an amazing pouch

I mean we really can’t know if it will be a good option for MX Master 3. And we do not have someone as you. ❤
Thanks for your suggestion! I’ll see what we can do 💪🏻

I feel myself starting to go down this pen-nerd rabbit hold and I regret nothing lol

On topic: I’m a fountain pen kind a guy. Use Kaweco only with a medium (Lilliput brass) and fine nub (Sport Brass) Love grey ink btw.
love it, cheers!

Agree with this. CAP2 is an excellent pouch and desk caddy.

Will you be reviewing the new Sympl tech kit?
Hopefully soon!

CAP2 is a better designed product with better UX, but it's heavier and doesn't look as nice imo
Very funnyb review funny yet very useful and contains rich personal opinions, loving this type of review.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m surprised the evergoods access pouch never made an appearance for alternatives

I like it. I have an aer slim pouch though so can't really justify it lol. I dig the minimal organisation though.
The Slim Pouch is so good
Surprised that a kindle can fit in there, will it fit a kindle paperwhite?
Great question for Bellroy customer support - please keep us posted with what they say 💪🏻
If this ever went on sale I’d like to get one.
just missed Black Friday!

The slim bolt action pen by Big Idea Design! It rocks!
it better for $100 USD haha
Ook. I think you sold me. That does seem like the perfect size tech pouch for me as my Peak knockoff (Tomtoc) is a little too big.
its one of my faves
Love the Desk Caddy
its awesome
Pen nerd here! Pentel Energel needle point, 0.5
love it!
Bellroy Desk Caddy or Aer Slim Pouch ???
Can’t go wrong with either but I’d give the slight edge to the Desk Caddy since it stands up by itself a bit better
You forgot your MacBook charger in that demonstration xP
oops!
.7 FTW lol. Love my Tactile Turn Slim Bolt action
💯
Parker Jotter is a good pen.
I'll check it out!
Fisher Space pen 🖊️
cheers!
Peak Design Tech Pouch>>>>>>>> Every other pouch
Not my favorite, but it’s a fantastic pouch for sure

great feedback! we plan to start weighing the actual products on camera starting in 2024 :)
@@Nomads.Nation ohh nice, can't wait!
4 mm is nice

.5
They exist? Lol
OOK sounds like GTA's YKK
Better than the usual badly translated knockoff name like Taco Enjoy instead of Taco Bell or something.
😂

definately a difference lol
