We have gone past the stage of itemising what the police need to perform their work. State police is an urgent need in Nigeria today. We all know the security challenges faced by Nigerians. What should be discussed now is how to implement it.

Some states in Nigeria are struggling to pay workers basic salary, so can they fund a state police,equp them ,hmmm,i don't think so
Most times, I am not happy anytime I watch or see our leaders, politicians, looking good and enjoying while when I get to the street and see poor Nigerians suffering, I wonder whether is this the same Nigeria all of us are living.

This is a selfish presentation. We need the state police more than ever before. What we need to work on are the area of perceived and likely abuse of the state police by the states political actors especially the governors

Don't bother to join Federal road safety to join police, if you allow road safety to bear guns, the country will regret this. So rule merging of road safety to police out. Limit them to control of traffic
Submit your plan to the federal government and put pressure for the plan to be executed
The way out is to recruit more federal police men and women, i mean mass recruitment, equipment of international standards, create special squads for different purposes, such as FBI, SWAT,Detectives, Anti terrorist squads,SHERIFFS, we need to train the police vigorously, they must be physically and mentally fit to face any type of challenges. Also very important WELFARE, as for state Police it will be abused before you know it, either by state government and it will be another tribal and ethnic police, its a capital NO, NO..

Who is the person? This man thinks the NPF will exist in current form along with a new state police. The current NPF and its infrastructure in every state should be handed over to the state. Existing budget shared, “Federal police” can be DSS responsible for enforcing federal laws, while state police is responsible for enforcing state laws. This will help with separation and jurisdiction issues. Police don’t need to live in barracks, they can live amongst the populace they are protecting. This will also help with the local knowledge and crime fighting/investigative work. This guy is just trying to preserve his cake. It is t as grave as he makes it seem.
There are countries that have Federal, State, Local govt (equivalent) police and even some college/universities have their own bonafide campus police. But he is here shaking at the thought of just state police (in addition to federal). 😂
