Normally the CVR and the FDR for Russian Planes, especially the Tu-154 (like the one which was used by Flight 2937) have their Black Boxes up the front, which is why and how we hear the captains and/or pilots speak even long after the back fuselage has been snapped.

Which makes this even sadder is that the kids travelled on an overnight train to Moscow and arrived on 29 June, then, as their driver accidentally took them to the wrong airport, they missed their original flight. They remained there until 1 July in order to find the arranged this charter flight.
There's so much to unpack about this. In the DHL plane, the pilot and F/O instantly became passengers in their own plane. Nothing they did after the collision could have possibly save them, as the tail was basically destroyed. After final by the F/O, it still took ~ 2 minutes before the end. They rode that plane as it flat spined, thinking that it's just an engine fire (the fire alarm came on), not knowing that they're as good as dead. In the Bashkirian, it's horrifying. The explosion, followed by the wind howling tells you the front of the plane was cut clean off and is plunging at terminal velocity to the ground. The pilots gasped for air in the thin atmosphere, they also rode the fuselage to to the very end. The captain's last act was to call out to his F/O in a vain attempt to apologise for doubting him, knowing full well that his life, as well as all those on board, was about to end. You can only hope that they were overcome with hypoxia before the impact.
@@thefraserchannel6562Without the vertical stabiliser, the DHL plane was uncontrollable. With no meaningful directional stability left, the aircraft would yaw hard left and right uncontrollably. @@JoeAriminvm Yes, if the vertical stabilizer is lost, there is nothing to keep the nose pointing forward. It will start spinning like a frisbee due to inherent yaw instability. @@tiamaquino2823 just because he said it was his mistake doesn't mean he was actually at fault. weird thinking you have. Imagine that a father lost his child at a school shooting. if a father initially puts his child at that school where there is a murder incident when there was another school option, and then after the murder, he says he's sorry, will you also think it's the father, not the murderer, at fault? the pilot had no idea that skyguide management was horrible and that the atc officer was dealing with multiple plates on his hand with bad equipment. also, when the pilot said sorry, he had NO IDEA atc officer was NOT reaching BOTH planes IN ADVANCE as he should have before finalizing/confirming instructions. and then imagine you don't listen to ATC as murat says but dhl is following atc. what happens is collision and the person apologizing would be murat.
Thing is, it wasn't invited maliciously. It was unclear at the time who took priority, TCAS or ATC, and ATC had no indication of what TCAS was telling the pilots. And normally that's how it was done. So, when ATC told the pilots to descend, they followed ATC because, well, why wouldn't you? And how was ATC supposed to know anything about their TCAS system? Also, there were many other circumstances beyond their control.
At that time in Russia, dispatcher instructions were more important than tcas. It was believed that the system could fail. in the tower, controllers see the entire situation in the sky. there is also a warning system on the ground. Unfortunately, the system was turned off that day, and the dispatcher was very tired. the tragic incident showed that the system works flawlessly. now in all countries it is accepted that tcas is high priority than the dispatcher
I think the pilots were aware of the TCAS, it’s just that a rule by pilots is to always trust the ATC even if they are a couple of dumbasses. The ATC at the time told both planes to descend, which makes no sense whatsoever. The pilots insisted on listening to the ATC and to descend because the ATC is generally the main spectator of all air traffic. Now I’m not saying that the ATC who was responsible for the accident is a total idiot either, because the ATC was just trying to do their job and was the only one ATC Controller working at the time. Either way it’s incredibly sad that both pilots didn’t know anything about either plane and their altitude or heading until the last second. The Pilot of Flight 611, once he saw 2937’s nose, lowered its altitude in an attempt to try to save the plane but it was too late.
At the time there was zero international standard. Western Training said to trust the computer, Russian Aviation Training(mostly separate until very recently) said to always listen to human orders.
saddest thing is everyone is focused on the father who murdered the tca officer, but no one is discussing the skyguide verdict. they got out easy. They wanted the Russian father to serve 8 years for one planned murder and the others for involuntary manslaughter of several dozens of people, most of them innocent smart children with future potential, a mare few months or not at all (not guilty). That's why wars happen. When the other side doesn't respect your needs and does not seek justice for your people, you gotta take action into your own hands to protect your own people.
Vitaly Kaloyev murdered an innocent man, I do agree Skyguide should have faced harsher charges for allowing policies to leave 1 controller to manage several radar screens which that night were faulty due to ongoing maintenance, but that does not excuse what Kaloyev did, he went to Nielsen's house, and murdered him in his own front garden infront of his kids, he still hasn't shown remorse for his actions, and blames Nielsen for killing himself. and is treated as a hero in North Ossetia and Russia even being awarded the medal "To The Glory of Ossetia" which is awarded to those who prevail in "improving the living conditions of the inhabitants of the region, educating the younger generation, and maintaining law and order" And I haven't even mentioned yet, Nielsen was found to be not at fault by authorities, with all the blame going on Skyguide for giving 1 man an unrealistic workload with no working phone line

What good is TCAS if pilots ignore it.
Sad.
All these lives needlessly lost. RIP.
I thought the DHL pilots survived but they didn't
saddest thing is everyone is focused on the father who murdered the tca officer, but no one is discussing the skyguide verdict. they got out easy.
Vitaly Kaloyev murdered an innocent man, I do agree Skyguide should have faced harsher charges for allowing policies to leave 1 controller to manage several radar screens which that night were faulty due to ongoing maintenance, but that does not excuse what Kaloyev did, he went to Nielsen's house, and murdered him in his own front garden infront of his kids, he still hasn't shown remorse for his actions, and blames Nielsen for killing himself. and is treated as a hero in North Ossetia and Russia even being awarded the medal "To The Glory of Ossetia" which is awarded to those who prevail in "improving the living conditions of the inhabitants of the region, educating the younger generation, and maintaining law and order"
And I haven't even mentioned yet, Nielsen was found to be not at fault by authorities, with all the blame going on Skyguide for giving 1 man an unrealistic workload with no working phone line

From where did you get this?
History almost repeated(uberlingen mid air collision)
what happened to the dhl? why did your cvr stop recording?
Engines ripped off their mountings when the plane entered a spiral, instant power loss.
@@BlackPhantom_IIIncorrect, without power CVRs still work. The DHL plane, a Boeing 757, has the CVR stored in the tail (the only part ripped off in the collision) but the Bashkiran Airlines plane, a Tupolev 144, has the CVR stored in the cockpit, so even though the plane was split in half, the CVR was still recording
@@GreenAxolotIWrong again, the 757 did not have backup batteries in the CVR while in Russian planes there are batteries which made the Tu-154 keep on recording until impact.

If the DHL flew for another six mins, is there any cvr of that time frame?

It lost power after the engine 2 fell off
no, the cvr cut off because of the detachment of the 2 engines because of the flat spin. this caused instant power loss, hence the cut off

While the bashikaran was recording EVEN the plane was half
it stopped recording because the engines were ripped off during the flat spin. they disconnected pretty quickly after the collision

Can someone explain me why did the cvr of the dhl flight got disconnected earlier than the flight 2937 which literally broke in half
I know that the Russian plane had its cvr up front and continued with a backup battery but the dhl plane was intact and only crashed cuz it lost its rudder and probably its hydraulics that control the plane.
Why did the cvr of dhl cut off right when the pilots said fk me
its because the right engine fell off

How It still recording without energy?
It's a rly modern technology invented by aliens that came to earth last month. It's called "Batteries" -.-
They do get their power from the engines tho. The real question is how the Tupolev still recorded the CVR even though the black boxes are usually located at the back of the aircraft. Maybe the russians designed it differently and the boxes are in the nose-section?

Sorry, but this was the Russian crew's fault. They chose to continue to obey the ATC's command rather than their TCAS.
IOW, they were good Soviet soldiers and followed orders, not beeps from some silly newfangled Western electronic box.
And they all died because of it..

That must be one of the most terrifying deaths. Falling like that. But there's a place so terrifying many people can't comprehend it, therefore they don't believe it's true. Imagine terror like that and you can't die to relieve your suffering. That's what waits for whoever doesn't repent and believe in Jesus as Christ.
