Old Town is great. Old time feel. Excellent burgers. Not too fancy. The video says it's in Greenwich Village but that's not right, it's north of there in the Flatiron District.
@@Bucketlistbars Too bad two old German bars from the mid 19th century in Queens are now gone in the past 20 years, Neidersteins and the Triangle Hofbrau, the latter having been Babe Ruth's regular hangout.
Hello- while Fraunces Tavern is the oldest bar/tavern in continual business since the day it opened its not the oldest building. if we were going strictly by the date of the building it would be the Bridge Cafe. the current Fraunces Tavern is a reconstruction built during the WPA program.
Christopher DeCostanza well, sort of. We visited Bridge Cafe and it was in our book (and you can find our video on our channel) but it’s permanently closed since Hurricane Sandy. Thanks for the feedback!
Fine production, and thanks for posting it however there are some mistakes 1. 1:05 It is SouthSTREET seaport, not southside seaport 2. 3:12 Old Town Bar is not in Greenwich Village. The northern border of the Village is 14th st Other useful info would include 3. Although a relative late comer The Whitehorse Tavern established in the 1880's is a very solid choice for a NY bar bucket list. I should know, my parents met there. 4. Not many people know but McSorley's didn't allow women to enter until 1970
Thanks for the tips and pointing out the mistakes, good catches. We wanted to talk to Whitehorse to but they didn't want to talk to us either, we did grab a beer there though. Thnx again!
+Bucket List Bars Appreciate the response. Yeah the Whitehorse has never had the friendliest of owners and over the years the clientele has changed. Its still on the short list of best bars in Manhattan tho...
+2001lextalionis Thanks again, maybe we'll try to give it another shot when we visit again in the summer. Have you head any word on Chumley's? Last we heard they had won a lawsuit and had one pending...
+2001lextalionis Chumley's is in litigation to regain its liquor license against some local resident resistance as it potentially harms property values.
Neir's Tavern, Landmark Tavern (ALL older than many featured here). But the most egregious error is this: Sorry, guys! But Fraunces Tavern, as we now know it, was built in 1904.
It's cool but I expected less obvious choices. I like the old-school vibe, music, people, simplicity. These became luxurious over time. I guess you only hear of those if you know a guy/girl
White Horse was opened in the 1880's after Pete's, which was the last of the top 5. We included Old Town just because we liked it a lot more than others from around the same era. Cheers!
The management of Pete's Tavern must be a bunch of idiots... any business wants free advertising... I don't understand why they didn't allow filming...
Ive been to Fraunces and Mcsorleys with my dad and uncle when i was a kid, cant wait to final go when im 21!
Great tips, when I go to NYC end of this year I try to visit al of these!
Been to all those, and they're just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to historic bars with character in NYC.
Petes bar! ! ! don't they feel crunchy now. lol
Enjoyed watching. Thank you,

boodleheimer thanks for the clarification on that. The Old Town is a must see when you visit NYC!
@@Bucketlistbars Also, the urinals are closer to 80 years old than 100, but still worth a trip the bathroom. Sorry ladies!
This was amazing. Thanks so much for this.
Really informative! Great job!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
I love the Corner Bistro in the West Village. The Bistro Burgers are the best in the world.
Loved this
How about Neirs in Woodhaven? That’s early 1800s plus they filmed some Goidfellas scenes there
We didn't find out about Neirs until well after we made this, on our next trip we hope to visit and set the record straight. Thanks!

I love it, and yes, I do take my tourists here, when they come on an www.Olidaytours.com
I just wonder if the ww2 soldiers went there before they deployed?
No. Old Town Bar in NYC is actually an Irish pub because reality is different from what it

3:38 grosssssss,,, now I don't care to go there
Ye olde pub crawl!
That one kid bye his self was the one he had to watch he's not like the rest of them
Dove Papa?
can minors enter the bars??
They should be okay. If they're under 16 they need to be accompanied by a guardian though. Most of these places serve food too. Have fun!
