Team Chemistry means: Team Clique not floor performance. Like in high school girls belonged to a "clique". A clique is a small group of individuals who interact with one another and share similar interests rather than include others.

It was about the "clique" that is Team USA. Arike and Caitlin were not a part of that "clique" so they were out! Arike saw it when she went to the camps and she withdrew her name because of it. What we want to know is what were the discussions and what were the politics? Isn't a committee supposed to cut through all the crap and is the reason why we have a committee in the first place. "It's all about team chemistry they say"? BULL CRAP! Team WNBA with two Rookies was able to pull off enough chemistry with only 2 practices to beat cliquey Team USA!
Actually, Team WNBA won the last time as well. Arike should have been on the last Olympic team in 2020 along with Candace Parker and Nneka Ogwumike. However, Geno was the coach then and in 2016, so it was all about the pros that played for him at Uconn, so that was the majority of both teams. I believe the committee was trying to right some wrongs of those two teams thus year. In the process, more people got snubbed. Sorry, Caitlin didn't get snubbed though. I get that the USA team usually takes a college player. However, that college usually wins the National Championship in the Olympic year...look it up for yourself. I think Clark will continue to get better and be a very good pro and will make an Olympic team. There are a lot of good players that didn't, so it can't just be about who is popular. I think the team is soft inside and need more bigs that can play on the block and not just shoot from outside. Also, being a former player and coach, Team USA would have had to play perfect again a team that is gunning for you and have nothing to lose. They did not do that, but they also only had a few days to learn a new scheme offensively and defensively. Team WNBA, just went out and played.
Arike wants no part of that clique. Is clear.

But it is to the detriment of the team. Her trying to get the MVP has caused the Aces to lose more games this year than all of last year. And the Wings and Sky are not great teams. Iso ball is good for winning basketball. Ask Carmelo and Russell Westbrook.

Stephen A was right because selection criteria should have been on basketball fitness and not team chemistry. Arike should be far ahead of Catlin in terms of selection. Catlin's noise came from white fans as they did for Maria Sharapova against the GOAT Serena Williams in 2006.

The difference in "pieces of pies" is that I'm not going to be watching the Olympic Team without CC and Angel Reese, and I'm not the only one who won't be watching. That is a HUGE piece of the pie...especially when the US team got completely worked over by their "rejects". Stephen is 100% right about this. 1. Per CC, I think he - and perhaps Andrea as well - is also overlooking that CC qualifies, already, basketball-wise. She's the only player in the W averaging at least 15-5-5, and is at 17.2-5.8-8.2. She can push the pace or slow it down and nobody else in the league has her passing ability. I think she's already the best point guard.
2. Yes, Isiah was a great player, and he may have been snubbed due to animosity among him and other players, especially MJ. But Stockton was, arguably, also a better basketball fit,
Isiah was more of an explosive scorer (who could also dish) but look at Stockton's credentials: 5 straight ASG appearances, and had led the league in assists the last 5 seasons, with 4 more consecutive to go. He was a good defender with lots of steals, and even set screens. Oh yeah, he was a career .515 shooter, made his free throws, and even set screens like a little demon. Oh, and except for a couple seasons when he missed some time, you could count on him to play 82 games a season. Isiah was great; Stock may have been greater!
Womens National teams been failing to move on to the next generation. Soccer team had the same problem. Politics does always get involved but the mens side move faster.
So what am I missing? Arike said she took herself out of the Olympic selection.

Caitlin and Arike should have both made the team. Anyone with half a brain can see that if they've been watching the last three years of basketbal. The reasons why almost don't matter. The fact is that they were both snubbed. And the selection committee and the coach are responsible. It probably won't end up mattering because the USA is still so much better than other countries, but Caitlin Clark is the best point guard/playmaker in the country and Arike is the scoring guard in the country. Leaving them off is wrong whatever reason you want to give.

CC was omitted maybe bc of politics but the basketball reason is very very valid. She was straight up bad in the beginning of the season and that’s all they had to go off for making the Olympic team at the time.
The wnba season moves very fast and now Clark is def on path to being her. I think she’s going to end up a top 10 wnba player end of this season easily. But she didn’t deserve it basketball wise when the team was formed. If she got it it would be marketing reasons.
Arike on the other hand was straight up robbed lol.

Lol you know whats crazy is that the men nba is treating the nba as entertainment. They act like actors really. They look like they dont care once they get paid (only looks like), and they put stars over team chemistry for the Olympics. Another example is the all-star games. The wnba literally more competitive in every aspect. Olympics looks for team chemistry with mixture of defense, offense, and team chemistry. Which one is correct for the wnba? Basketball is still entertainment after all and wnba was/still lacking in entertainment (but i hate seeing the men nba sport like this).
