Dang sorry you had to go through that twice. From the footage it definitely seemed like he just suddenly merged into your lane causing the collision but as you mentioned in the comments, the other car was in his original lane immediately. Just bad luck :/
Bad luck for sure, but if he wasn't speeding, things may have been a little different as well. The other car probably would have seen him and not merged. It's alright. My car is in the shop and being fixed. The most important thing is that it kept me safe.
Accident 1: Volvo have had auto brake for those situations for ten years now... And i do not remember previous models but at least the model we have now stops from 4 km/h. Accident 2: You are driving WAY TOO CLOSE to the car in front! Please stop that habit! Three seconds or more is the proper distance. Otherwise, seems like the usual blind spot/distracted/...
I reviewed the footage and it turns out that someone was merging into his lane after all. They must not have seen him because of how fast he was driving.
The guy who hit you lied to you and the police officer. I would have pressed charges! I'm getting my Model Y in just a few weeks and hope I don't get this Tesla hate.
So I reviewed the footage again and saw that just after I got hit, the car that was in the lane to his right actually was in the lane next to me immediately after the crash. So I do think that the next car over was merging into his lane, but I do believe they did not see him because he was driving so fast. Congrats on your Model Y. You are going to love it!
Damn that was a totally unexpected move on his part. I don't think any action by you or autopilot would have prevented that. I was actually expecting to watch this and see that somehow it was you becoming too complacent but.. nope, that was unavoidable
It happened super fast. The guy came up behind me and jumped into my lane. When I slowed down the footage, I could see that he actually was avoiding getting hit by a car turning into his lane from the other side. They must not have seen him because he came in so hot.
What I noticed that specific spot you got hit is a very weak spot for the AP to detect car and react to avoid accident. The Autopilot should have given you a warning prior to that car merging to your lane and should have atleast reacted and possibly avoided the accident. This is why I think the current hardware and sensors for the car will not be sufficient enough for FSD. Its all a scam by Tesla to get you to pay the $7k. Elon is the biggest Kool Aid out there. I'm glad though your alright, but sucks your car value will be depreciated for an uninsured driver.
Agreed. I hoped that AP would have at least beat me to trying to avoid the collision. And regarding your comments on FSD... exactly. Not even close yet. Needs at least a couple more years of development. $7k is way too expensive for what it is now. I got it at a much lower price. More in that in a future video.
@@SeedVisual Tesla basicly wants you to give them money for a system that yet to be proven to work and at the same time use you and collect your data for FSD. In return the consumers basicly get nothing in in their investment and data. How bad could it be right 🙉. You should have the Tesla engineers take a look at your incident and see what feedbacks you can get in regards how the autopilot did not react to the incidents.
He said he had to avoid another car,... that’s some nice invisible car dude
Accident is at 12:15
Sad to hear this story. Terrible the guy tried to get away with it.
All good. Accidents happen.

Looks like he done it on purpose I’d say he was on the phone

Def avoidable
