Thanks for all your sharing, I am 60 years old, picked up the guitar at age 46, and appreciate all you share. I heard a story of a 100 year old man who was learning Hebrew. When he was asked, "Why are you learning Hebrew at age 100?", he replied, "It's now or never!" Gotta love that! For me, playing guitar, learning old classics is very relaxing, and as long as the good Lord allows me to breath air, I plan on playing and learning for my own satisfaction. Thanks a million James James!
No doubt about it! No one plays the drums like Keith. Many have tried to capture his style and sound, no one has succeeded...Zack does a good job but its obvious is not Kieth.
Keith never seemed like the practicing type...also, I read somewhere that on the first take of this recording, Entwistle did his thing and just went insane, and then said “ok let’s do it for real this time” and Pete pretty much said “that was incredible, we’re going with that one” because the bass was so amazing. Pete also described this song as “a bass solo with words”. This is the greatest rock band we will ever see, playing at the very top of their game, opening one of the best albums ever created. If there’s a better rock song, I’ve not heard it. Oh, awesome job on the video dude!
super cool. great choice on the hollow body- it really honks. you really get the Pete thing of brandishing and scrubbing to create explosive crescendos. all the dynamics are there too. you and the who in peak form. thanks
@JamesJames -- I have been watching your videos for years and just want to say "thanks" -- you have inspired me to play and enjoy playing again. I have been a "by ear" player most of my life, but it's nice to just get back into it all - just Thanks, I truly appreciate your efforts and love for music
Maybe something by the Airplane please? Paul Kantner has just died. FIrst Bowie, Frey, now Kantner. The British-LA-Frisco classic rock axis is getting hit damn hard. RIP each and every one.
This has been one of my favorite rock and roll anthems since I first heard it as a boy. I just LOVE the way it goes from zero to 182 miles per hour in nothing flat. Like getting shot out of a cannon. You nailed it.
+Philip Heying I like songs that join a story already in progress: "I went back to the doctor..." Wait a minute, I didn't even know you went to the doctor the first time!
James James I am Keith not zoe I have been listening to this album since eighty three has always been my favorite you gave me a good laugh I had never thought of that keep up you're clever observations by the way kid I don't play guitar but if you can play what pete plays your ok in my book
You might get this question alot.... But.... who edits your videos? Like the cutouts and stuff? very well organized. i think you should have an intro and maybe a cool transition with a banner.
It's amazing how much terrific music Townshend got out of a few chord shapes.
Very few. 😎
The chorus progression stands out a bit more

Still love your version even 7 years on!
What a great piece of music Quadrophenia is. It never gets old.
I heard Pete say in a interview that Keith never practiced. Thats pretty incredible. He is easily one of rock's best drummers. Love his playing.
This is probably the greatest rock drumming performance I've ever heard.

Moon and Entwistle are incredible on this song! Never really paid attention to the guitar part very much because of that.
The verse where is its just moon, roger and john is the best part of the song.
I agree.
Agreed x2.
You nailed one of the greatest rock songs ever!

So short but so great!! One of there best songs ever
As Pete said” it’s just a piece of wood and some wires”.

Sweet! My all time favorite album! I always thought that song would be too hard to learn but I think I can swing it! Thanks!
Superb 😃 Love what you do and the way you do it 😃😎👍🎶🎶🎶🙏❤️❤️❤️
Just bought a new guitar from CME. Great playing.
Great playing. Such energy!
Another good-looking guitar from your collection.
Not so great for soloing, but fantastic for chord work.
Great Song and love the shirt! Awesome store...

That sure woke me up! Love it.
That smokes dude!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great choice as usual.
Will we see a guitar collection video in the future or has the collection remained pretty constant since the last one?
Excellent...

Outstanding stuff mate. Love it when you do The Who!
What guitar is that? Don't remember seeing it before and I can't place it. Cheers.
Conrad from the mid-60s.
Kick ass job James! One of The Who's best songs! Did you do a lesson on this?
good yeah, i love the who
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome man.
one of my favorite songs ever :D
Try doing the base. Now that's the real challenge. Good job.
Hey the Chicago music exchange!

Awesome JJ
Wow How many guitars do you own?
Opening riff is crazy
Are you using a delay pedal here? I think I hear a slap back echo.
Yes, just a little slap back.
I'll have to try that at home. Are you getting it through an amp, or a pedal, and if so what pedal? I've got an MXR Carbon copy that does it well.
+Bill Cupp This time I just did it through the amp. I have a Danelectro pedal that gets it pretty close, but I was too lazy to dig it out.
In my opinion, Pete makes the song, mainly because he wrote it.
+Stephen Pinder Nah, Dude. The Ox makes this song...
Are those the original pickups?
+China Iyf No, somebody swapped them out a long, long time ago. These originally came with singles.
