    I’ve always used AudioControl and I like that you do also. They make good stuff and their support is awesome if you ever had a problem.

      I had never heard of them until I started watching his videos several years ago. After seeing how supportive they are with the channel and their dynamic line of amplifiers I think I'd like to try one for my next amplifier. I'd be interested in seeing a more comprehensive video on setting up DSPs to adjust for the factory EQ curve, I bought a 2020 Subaru Impreza a few months ago and would like to upgrade the speakers without losing the factory head unit.

    • @jeffpessemier9802
      @jeffpessemier9802 4 роки тому

      UnsulliedSpy I have the DM-608, the Matrix line driver and two of their amps. Almost all of their products will take in high-line (speaker level) inputs to do what you want, but if you’re looking for DSP function, you can either do the DM-608, DM-810, or one of their amps. I would have done one of their amps with the DSP built in, but it came out 6 months after I bought my system. Also, the amps won’t take the add-on piece that lets you stream music or adjust the setting through your phone. Once connected and you have their program up and running, you can literally press the “auto EQ” button twice and it will smooth out the curve for you, then you can adjust the 30-band EQ from there.

    • @406Steven
      @406Steven 4 роки тому

      @@jeffpessemier9802 Wow, thanks! That sounds a lot easier than having to manually adjust the curve every few volume levels! I bought the optional Rockford Fosgate upgrade with a DSP and new front speakers but it still leaves a lot to be desired.

    I installed a kicker 15" in my fortwo a couple years ago, had to wire in at the passenger foot well, this video wouldve been real nice :c I also put an aftermarket head in, which was a nightmare.

    Hey Mark I have a question that maybe only you can answer... Can I use my current Polk Home Theater subwoofer plate amp to power a Alpine type R as a replacement driver for my home audio? Or do car subwoofers only work with 12V powered amps? Much thanks if you have an answer to this. Thanks!

      @@CarAudioFabrication i had all the smart models over the last few years and ive done a few builds. Last one had a panel where i mounted the amps which could flip with hinged bolted to the 2 holes where the hooks are. And there was a cover on top to be able to use the trunk.
      A big 3 is a must for these cars and also note that the alternator isnt really that powerful.. an upgrade or at least a few maxwell supercaps will help greatly to prevent voltage drops. Other than this they are quite nice and easy to work on and soundproofing is easy to do as well! Can't wait to see more of that project. I miss my little smart!

    Hello, I've always been curious where you end up getting 6 input channels to use on the dsp. I always only see front, rear, and, sub. Thanks! Looking forward to the outcome on this pipsqueak! Making it a popboom? 😉

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  4 роки тому +1

      There is no advantage to using all 6 or more channels, for stereo you really only need two. It's more handy to have many channels when integrating into a factory system that has bandwidth limited channels like tweeters, mids, etc that need to be summed to full range

    Just curious, what makes Audio Control so good? Are they worth the price?

    • @timrudisill
      @timrudisill 4 роки тому

      They make super high quality equipment designed to last, many of their products specifically address problems that other manufacturers overlook, ignore, or just don't do as well, and they're customer service is top notch if you need help. They're easily worth the price. Be careful though, because they make a lot of products that address specific problems and concerns and if you don't plan your system out carefully, you could easily end up with something that doesn't do what you need it to do or you could spend money on something you don't need. Hope this helps!

    Hi Mark,
    I'm planning a SQ system for my 2019 Toyota highlander hybrid. I am currently waiting for new audio control d5.1300 (5 channels w/dsp) to pair up with 2 sets of dynaudio esotec 242gt 6.5 component and one jl audio 13tw5v2 with factory seal box. Will the amplifier be a good match for the component sets or will you recommend a great SQ component set (I love the natural sounds from dynaudio). My budget is between $3000 to $4000. Thanks

    Audio Control amps are really really nice "but" so so spendy .. Just what was in that box bounces around the $1200 mark .. Maybe one day I will be able to go the top of the line route, but for now, it's eBay used amps, local classifieds, and lots of tinkering to fix the stuff other people break .. Looking forward to this little car's build ..

    Mark, had a question I'm hoping you can shine some light on! I listen to a variety of types and sources of music. The one thing that bothers me about my system is that different genres and sources have different volumes of bass. I have a remote control for the gain for my subwoofer amplifier to adjust this on the fly. However, it gets to be cumbersome having to adjust the bass level with each song/source. Will a product like the AudioControl Epicenter help to bring bass to a steady level between different songs/sources/genres? I've noticed that SiriusXM channels such as The Heat always have bass that is an even level. I've even noted tracks that appear to have a good bass tone on that channel, only to play them on Spotify and notice the bass level is not the same. Thanks for any assistance on this issue!

    For Mark or anyone w/ valuable input: I’m happy with my current install using older but high quality gear I bought years ago but trying to decide on some changes. 3x new alpine type R 12s sealed (2x on Memphis 16mc1000d amp, 1 on 16mc500d amp), 4x type R 6.5s (components up front and coax in rear) on 16mc2004 amp. All off a pio4200nex bypassed with a Xstatic Batcap and clean wiring properly sized in a 2004 Nissan Xterra... I recently disconnected my rear speakers and running fronts thru my 4 channel 150wrms x2 @ 4ohms bridged (can also do 50wrms x 4 @ 4ohm and 75wrms x 4 @ 2ohm). My 6.5s can handle 100wrms each, so is this “better” than just running it as 4 channel? I’d rather more output up front as my rears are in the trunk area facing my sub box. Long preface but should I just run it as standard 50x 4 channel, or keep it as fronts only 150w 2 channel? Also am I better off getting an audio control DSP? Or a new audio control amp w/ dsp? Or some combo thereof? I want to stay budget conscious and spend the $ 1x smart. Serious suggestions only. Thanks.
