Layne believes in equality of tone throughout his material. He allows other players to freely play adding lots of dimension to his overall sound. Very few singers pay attention to the mix and also play all instruments and allow collaboration. I can only think of Prince and maybe Sting.
The only thing I would want to hear is Laynes personal unreleased solo album that he was working on before he passed. Layne said he played every instrument himself plus the vocals.

Only recently has the music been allowed to be released by his estate. Its about the fans, not money or fame.
