I'll definitely need to try this one out. Really simple setup without a lot of extra rules. With some playing of it, it should be possible to identify a 'difficulty' of auto battling fighters. Thanks for this one!
Oh man, that 2md fight is a rough match up. Definitely got lucky with the AI draws. This looks awesome, even just to 'dummy' train against. Thank you so much for this, Battlecon is always a game I struggle to get to the table, should be able to get it there more now!
Glad you enjoyed it. Check out the rules. I’ve improved them since the video (mainly how AI overload bonuses and force work), and I’m just about done making specific rules for every Devastation character
@@OneStopCoopShop Printed out the rules tonight. I like how you have specific instructions for certain fighters and bosses. Once I test it out a few times and get a feel for it, would love to maybe help create guides for the fighters in other sets.
@@davidarlington1206 that would be awesome. You might have already seen, but in the solo rules (just before the specific fighter profiles) I have a Google Form link. Drop any suggestions or extra fighters right in there!
Great system...I made something similar to just spar against. But honestly: it feels really bad when the AI beats you with doing random stuff! LOL! But part of the fun of this game is seeing the genius about how each character works and this definitely lets you do that. Thank you for making this!
Well, BattleCON can be random enough in its matchups that sometimes you can lose through no fault of your own ;) Still a great game though! Glad you're enjoying the system.
This looks amazing. I love how the boardgame community comes up with stuff like this. I'm a solo-only player... nobody to play these with... so it can be very frustrating to see a game that looks really great, but is competitive only. But then fans can come up with stuff like this that make it actually playable. Or they even take a game that's kinda busted (Dark Souls) and make just the right tweaks to make it amazing (the Hallowed variant for that, I love it, even if setup does take like 50 years). Really impressive what people come up with. As it is, I might go ahead and pick this up now as this stuff you've come up with looks like it works wonderfully, and is probably easily tweaked if necessary. I'm a long-time fan of fighting games, so... yeah, this one had always looked like it was right up my alley but I just couldnt play it. The fact that this looks like it is both quick to set up AND quick to play, yet with actual depth, helps alot... been looking for some faster games lately, I have so many that are giant bloated things and are amazing but just take forever. This also happened with Rallyman GT, that looked super fun but no "true" solo mode (not that the time trial thing isnt fun), but I saw the playthrough you did with the fan-made AI cars and picked it up, and boy is it a blast even if I kinda suck at it. As always you guys do amazing content here, Rallyman and this game wouldnt be the only games I've specifically picked up due to seeing your videos on them here. Would definitely be interested to see some more videos of this game in particular. The fast-paced back-and-forth action of this one make for a very entertaining watch.
Glad you enjoyed it! I also have a new solo variant for Exceed, Level 99's other fighting card game. That video is going up on Saturday (and there is a contest entry up now, where you can win store credit with Level 99). So you might want to check out that one too, and see which system you prefer (exceed or BattleCON). And yes, I would love to do more of these. So fun to play :)
@@OneStopCoopShop I tried out Sarafina vs AI Alumis from Fate using current rules and your rondel update. Alumis was very easy to navigate since she has not special ante. I lost with 2 health left on Alumis. Very nice variant!
@@OneStopCoopShop I’m looking to hold a tournament with some friends where we will have 3 matches going at the same time. Devastation only came with one stage/arena/cutout where the fighters go. I’m looking for some cool looking copies that I can print so we can all play at the same time 1v1.
Three small rules corrections: 1 - On the turn the opponent antes 1+ curses, Rexan does NOT gain a curse when hit. 2 - Reveal effects are resolved (based on the active player from the PREVIOUS turn), then priority is determined, then start effects are resolved with the new active player going first. 3 - On a clash, the fighers each choose a new BASE (right card), but not a new style (left card).
If this gets enough positive response, I might do a video with one of the bosses and 2 player-controlled fighters, both to show the updates to the Overload tiles, and to show how co-op can work for a different mode of play.
@@jupiterloner999 I enjoy playing, so I'd like to. My thought is a cooperative fight, using one of the bosses and 2-3 player-controlled fighters. Should be fun and epic :)
