@@psyber_spaced1192 Respect your picks here! Will have to check Paul Barman looks interesting. Did you see that footage of Rammellzee rapping at the toxic lounge? Not sure if the footage is on youtube anymore. Do you rate Divine Styler??
PEEP THIS!!! NO ONE CALLIN EACH OTHER STUPID NAMES....JUST SKILL FOR SKILL...THIS IS HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE....just juggling words and getting busy with it. Bring this type of LyricalTruth Back! Salute To The MC's!! Bronx Stand Up!!
That's how MCs battles were back in the '70s until Kool Moe Dee changed the game and started dissin'. His battle with Busy Bee is what sparked lyricism and dissin' in hip hop, but MCs like Busy Bee were mainly "hypemen" for the DJs before they became lyrical swordsmen.
Damn Percee P got me being a student here studying his flows, trying to mimic his style. His rap is impeccable and still better than what I'm hearing nowadays with these so-called rappers.
im from the u.k when i was a teenager youtube was just coming out and i found this video and i was so hooked on how they rhyme i stopped making grime music fell in love with hip hop all because of this video no one was rappin like this where im from
21 years I just go off with this real hip-hop I love, not that bullshit snakes do. This is the tears of joy from flow rhyme and community. Respect with attitude and craftsmanship is in the air as it always was and will be. Thank you P and Finesse!
Yeah, that's why I can't get into the battle rap scene today. All that posturing and they don't really flow. They just talk with no beats. They stop and start over. The long pauses and the fake crew beefs. A lot of people like it, but I don't like. I think the battle rap scene peaked in like '03 and diminished by '09.
and that's what its all about people,,,,nothing more, nothing less, just grounded fundamentals telling the story of street music to whomever takes the time out to listen,,,forever hiphop!!!
@hiphopwontstop90 Thank you man 4real, I was looking for it for years, finally someone did it. Although I thought I movie length is something like hour, but I am very satisfied with this half of.
Nowadays, I can’t even remember the last time I got the chills from hearing hip-hop. All I Gotta do is go to the past. Also, I never thought that Lord Finesse got the respect that he was owed. I feel that DITC literally took the Rakim era and I feel like they were almost skipped over and went straight to Nas .
2024 and this is still absolute 🔥
Lord Finess = Monsterous flow + Wordplay
Percy P = Monsterous flow + sick syllable
Both were incredible though
The 6th God Hand ✊
Yea that’s how I call it as well. Just now seeing this for first. That high level skill of rhyming between both is wow
This should have a billion views!
I could listen to this for eternity

I just recalled how iLL rap used to be. Cadences and patterns were smashed in this. You youngens should take notes from these lyrical craftsmen.

@@TheRealPerceeP1you are easily in my top 5 mcs of all time. Edan, MC Paul Barman, MC Shan and Ramellzee alongside yourself

No mumble rap here.
I love that people here aren't really trying to determine a winner for once and are just enjoying the music for what it is. Hip-Hop at its purest here

what a sick rap battle... for me Lord Finesse is one of the greatest lyricist of all time but Percee P was also really dope so yes there is no winner.
This just puts the exclamation point in why hip hop aint shit no more
Chris Irizarry agreed. just like the same shit like the old Eminem, and the WACK one now of him.

INCREDIBLE!!!!! ❤🔥💨👑💯🙏
i met percy p in a parkinglot at rock the bells in san bernadino.. dude was so cool he hooked it up with some free stuff
He's in California?
I seen him a couple times at this event called Low end theory every Wednesday night at The Airliner.
I don't know about you, if Percy P gave me free stuff it would be nothing to compared to if he would have just flowed his sick lyrics in front of me.
ua-cam.com/video/7-duIcyz2FI/v-deo.html
He used to post up outside Fat Beats on 6th Ave selling tapes / cds. Such a cool cat
Poetically beautiful. Very talented.

This feels like me trying to figure out whether or not I want to go heavier on the syllables or the punch lines and deciding I'd rather have both

That's just how fast the cipher used to pop off back in the days! ❤
This is nuts, first time hearing
These two need to do a whole album together.
Lord finesse was definitely ahead of time
He built on what Kane was doing before him.
now we need some breakers battling and some graffiti artists knocking up a mural in the background 😊
Percee was so ahead of his time with the rhyme patterns he did

I love this...💯 2 dope emcees
