A way to think of CAGED is it organises the fretboard into different positions. You can play chords, scales, arpeggios all out of each Position. A video might be a better way to present this?

Yes that’s correct. It gives you a E9 sound overall. I was going to mention it but thought it might be info overload. But great work for knowing that!
