  • In this video I explain how I use permaculture techniques to optimize the growing space in my tiny forest garden. I explain three tips that are wellknown in the permaculture tradition: guilds; edge effect and hugelkultur (also known as hugel mounts). I also briefly introduce permaculture as a method for gardening where focus is to establish a permanent garden with perennial crops and a rich biodiversity. Furthermore, I talk about different gardening topics such as the concepts of companion platning and vertical gardening.

Growing up as a child of an agriculture grandfather in the Caribbean I would see this type of farming, regenerative/ syntropic/permaculture, now as I am older and took a Horticulture & Agriculture management, I realize how wonderful this is for the earth, which has everything to help itself. But all these monoculture farms etc. is actually hurting this lovely earth and us. Your yard is so full of life, lush greenery. Anders, you truly make me miss being a farm/country girl, lol, thank you :)

I love gardens and nature. But sadly, I live in an apartment. I did, however, put my name down on a waiting list for a small plot of land in a community garden near by. I’d like to grow native flowers for the pollinators.
May you continue to live this way as long as you’d like, Andy.

Learnt so much! You provide clear ‘how to ‘ about permaculture (ever only knew the term). I had questions that an auto-play of the video on how you drastically changed from a 9 to 5 answered; that you could teach other members of the community etc. Will view some old videos you mentioned here for more answers. Great work and such a great lifestyle!

That's a heatwave of chopping sticks for fire, until today I relied on being good with an axe. Are they black potatoes?
