  • In this video, we will guide you through the process of simplifying fractions using the greatest common factor (GCF). If you've ever struggled with reducing fractions to their simplest form, this tutorial is perfect for you.
Simplifying fractions is an essential skill in mathematics, and the GCF method provides a systematic approach to achieve this. By finding the greatest common factor between the numerator and denominator, we can divide both parts by this factor to simplify the fraction.
In this comprehensive tutorial, we will explain what the GCF is and how to calculate it efficiently. We will then demonstrate step-by-step how to use the GCF to simplify fractions, providing clear examples along the way. Additionally, we will cover situations where the numerator and denominator have multiple common factors and how to handle them.
By the end of this video, you will have a solid understanding of the GCF method and be able to simplify fractions with confidence. Whether you're a student seeking help with math homework or an individual looking to refresh your math skills, this tutorial is for you.

Hello! I am currently having issues with this order of operations/fraction problem. It is:
2 3/4 - 3 3/8 ÷ 4 1/2. It went pretty well at first. That was until I got it wrong twice that I realized I didn't know where to simplify or how to simplify the following fractions. (please read the following)
I converted the mixed numbers into improper fractions: 11/4, 27/8 9/2 . I also did the order of operations in the correct order. I multiplied 27/8 × 2/9 to get 54/72. I didn't realize that I needed to simplify at this point before subtracting the 11/4 followed by the current multiplied/divided fraction and also I don't know HOW to simplify 54/72 as the problem equals to a whole number once you subtract 11/4 as a hint. I would like some advice on how to solve 2 3/4 - 3 3/8 ÷ 4 1/2 That would be greatly appreciated.
    I

Sometimes, fractions are simplified by writing some factors of Nr and Dr. and cancelling common factors. Eg. 20/35= 5×4/7×5= 4/7.
