  • Newmarket Harley Davidson kindly let me test out the new big bore Lowrider S whilst my Fat Bob 114 was in for service, how do I get on?

When I tested these bikes in 2019 I loved them both but chose the Fat Bob for the taller rear shock and the forward controls. I too had trouble folding my legs to fit the mid controls on the Low Rider.

Indeed, my legs just curl back too far; not sure about the rear shock I did not check the specs. Cheers for commenting.

Im stuck on exactly this question at the moment, looking to replace my current bike, I love the styling of the fat bob, the LRS is just a bit too generic. Up until they released the 117 I was convinced a second hand fat bob with a few basic mods would be my next bike but now with the new LRS im back to questioning my choice. I like the mid controls, the handlebars, wheels, the intake and the 117 on the LRS and the price for a brand new bike is only a couple thousand more but the overall styling of the fat bob still has me leaning in that direction. Hopefully they drop the 117 on that fat bob for 2023 and put a decent paint job on it and solve my problem for me.

Simply add stage 2 to the 114 and you will already be = or indeed exceeding the thrust of the 117. One has to love the look of a bike and like you Fat Bob has it for me.

Just try a test ride on FXLRS 117 and you will never return to Fat Bob. Even it is a really nice bike. Low Rider S 117 is very brutal and powerful indeed. Videos will not help you. You should ride on both and you will understand everything.

Just found your channel, great! I've two gsx 1400 and also a fxdx dyna super sport 2001, which I've had for 21 years. One of those things, I love it, I've got one but don't ride it often, could not just have a harley. Big heavy primative lump that looks cool ( not me bike). The attention ( from non bikers) is amazing. If you go to a bikers cafe/pub the attention you get on a Gsx1400 is amazing, you get no attention on a Harvey.

The GSX1400 gets far more attention these days than 20 years ago when I first had it.

At some point we should start protesting against the EcOfascist agenda. I think most people don't appreciate this aggressive anti rider/driver sentiment but we don't make our voices heard.
    Thanks for the reviews!

I have to agree… the eco agenda has huge connotations for our future freedoms. I am considering making a video on the subject, may loose subs and loose watch time but… as you say.

That’s a good looking motorcycle, but it needs forward controls. Love my Road Glide Limited with the 114 - I imagine a 117 on that frame is a lot of fun.

Indeed it’s a very cool bike, as you say critically needs forward controls. 117 with some extra tuning would be awesome.

Nice ride report, Martyn… do like your FB.. not so keen on the view of the ride on the LRS… love the gear shifter position… how embarrassing for Newmarket Harley… fancy sending out a bike set up like that…🥴😳😂😉

As you say the gear leaver just needed correctly adjusting for mid controls. Cheers for commenting. 👍

I'm just wondering how it feels to ride with the handle bars on the right instead of the left.

I ride the Fat Bob a lot, more than the GS currently; what a huge smile I have! Yes ST will be most interesting.

The old forward and mid control argument. You’ll never please everyone one way or the other. Just change it to what you want. Harleys are meant to be customised to what you want.

I purchased the rack and had it fitted at my Dealer when the bike was new, so it’s a Harley one and it’s removable which I like. Check out the Harley accessories catalogue.

Harleys are way too expensive they will be the first to take a hit like the last time. With the Financial climate right now..

Maybe, but the age of the average Harley owner is very high!

Yep, my 21 year old harley is worth what it cost new.
