You will never go wrong with a series 60 Justin. Good power I love how they sound at idle. They have a sound all their own. Not sure if you know but John Deere designed that engine then said nah we don’t like it. Shame on them lol
Just went to California from Michigan to get an older 379. Got out there, looked at it and got back in the rental car and left. Drive back home. I’ve bought trucks from the same dealer before and they’ve been nice rust free units. This one was rust free but it was in bad shape. Sometimes you win sometimes you loose.
I like that you care about how your fleet looks! Easiest way to get our ownership to buy the 'right' part is to casually mention how we can do it otherwise but it'd have a Mad Max look if we just made it work. You'll get the PO you're looking for before you finish your sentence! XD
Steve first wanted to go with a factory in the State of New Hampshire. They told him one story about accepting his template upon his arrival at their facility. When he arrived at their facility, they refused to take the job and tried to pass off a metaphorical load of animal poop as their excuse for getting caught red handed in lie. If I remember correctly, Steve Feszchak found a factory in the state of Ohio. They took the job earlier this year and his rails should be ready to be picked up within the next five weeks. For those of you wondering who this FEC and Steve Feszchak is, they can be found on the FSC Trucking UA-cam channel. The frame rails that Steve is having built will be used to convert a 1983 Ford CL-9000 single axel drive truck into a dual Axel drive truck. To avoid certain rear suspension part supply issues (Ford no longer supports their old Class A truck parts company), Steve used the Ford Front end suspension part of the original frame and the 1979 Peterbilt 359 rear suspension part of that frame to make a custom frame to revive a Chapel Truck that spent over 20 years at a truck stop in the State of Washington.
@@rce8540 I honestly don't remember which state Steve Feszchak tried to get his rails done at originally: New Hampshire or Vermont. The detail that I somewhat remember is Steve's claim that the people at the shop told him one thing over the telephone and a completely different story when they refused to take the template to do the job. I know he was happy to have met the people at the second factory (in Ohio if I remember correctly) who agreed to do the job. The job should be almost completed by now.
Looks like it may be a good one. Can't fault it for the Detroit, WAY cheaper to rebuild and if you tune 'em right they'll get a little better fuel milage too. 👍
Almost looks like an ex Helena Ag truck, thats why also its so rusty cause hauling fertilizer most of the time, their green is exactly the same, we had also some peterbilts of them, good fleet trucks, dont work too hard👍
Hi Justin nice score on the new to you truck! As far as the colors go my thoughts are have your logo done in green and possibly add a stripe. It’s nice you were able to find it at an affordable price. That poor old truck 107 must have 9 lives like the Cat under the hood! Hope the blessings keep coming your way! Stay cool
Good luck Justin, really!!! The story goes Fitzgerald wasn't using Detroit o e parts when building those engines!! Not saying that's one of them!! Just some chatter over the radio and elsewhere!!
Color looks good. Needs a cat. But for the money sometimes you can’t have everything. I’ve only seen one Detroit that didn’t leak or have blow by. It was a 3 cylinder in an old link belt excavator. Good way to price what to spend when buying. An engine overhaul can put a big dent in the pocket book nowadays.
I sure wish I could come work for you You seem like an awesome boss to work for you actually care about the drivers That's hard to come by nowadays.I got over 30 years experience. Maybe 1 day. Ou're a friend from detroit michigan take care god bless
I actually like the green. If it were me, I would extend the green with a tasteful same green 2 or 3 inch belt along the bottom of the cab and sleeper... along with chrome, and lights, tasteful without being over kill. I might replace the stack with 8s straight no bend. She is beautiful and I pray will serve you well for many years to come.🙏💜
I said up there, suggested wtuever, green pinstripeing, and the mayflower green OUTLINE BORDER outlineing or a border background for the blue logo's... the green pinstripes or like you said STRIPES would tie it all together, I saw a DIAGANAL from the rear of the fender up the the top back corner diagnally something like a 2 inch stripe that turns into a 6 inch stripe at the rear top corner of the sleeper... then up around the back top edge of the sleeper then down diagnally to the other fender ;) and I saw in my mindseye, a GREEN PALM TREE on the back of the sleeper... it was an abstract design that was a palm tree...
She definitely looks good, I had a monster green flattop peterbilt with black fender so I like green. Trevor is the man and still thinking about your dad hope all is well, safe travels buddy thanks for sharing 👍 P.S. the coffee is great 👍
Hello Justin I love your channel. I am located in Texas. I have a friend That owns a truck salvage yard. If you ever need a hard to find part you might want to look him up. Fisherbuilt Custom Haulers Belton Texas.❤👍🏽
Keep your logo the same; As others have said have said: Option A ; repaint fenders blue to go with logo… Option B; create a stripe that Fades from blue to black to match logo and frame and a second stripe that fades from gray to Mayflower green to go with fenders ??? The gray will contrast the blue and green…. Nothing real crazy but alittle bit bigger than pin stripes… Green above the fender to back of sleeper gray and blue above green to black on back of sleeper … side stripe would be blue and green matching fender and logo and back of sleeper would be black and gray…(Something different) could probably get it done cheaper in vinyl wrapped stripes instead of painted idk… might be able to find a computer program where you could pull up a W-9 a play around with different colors and stripe combinations before you make your final decision but that what I would do😊
The Fitzgerald in house built 12.7 Detroit engines were junk. Fitzgerald would mix and match the cheapest aftermarket parts and they would build 500hp 12.7 engines out of very early 11.1L blocks without piston cooling nozzles. They didn't care and they would build engines using junk cores.
ya COULD make a GREEN BACKGROUND SQUARE and put your blu logo over that ''background square'' (billboard?) anyhow looks like a pretty clean truck... does it ride nice? or is it """JUST A TRUCK""" ..... or my first thought was ''use mayflower green'' as an OUTLINE COLOR to your blue logo... little 1/8" or 3/16" green outline around the blue even if it is just the OUTSIDE of the logo, it would be pretty cool, then you can use a lil bit of green pinstripeing to carry on the green thru all that WHITE... :) but LOOKS like a sharp truck! :)
Yup I few out to Arizona for my son pick clean low miles glider 250,000 on Speedo. 2018. Same color stand up bunk. With Detroit Basically same. Yup. Drove it back and 2 wheel seals clutch cable and water pump all in trip. So 5 day trip took me 2 weeks. Nice layovers. And. Told my sons I write them a bill. Not saying I get paid. Beens I’m retired owner. But I alway like taking trips. Cost of buying prices drop a lot. And fuel prices too
I was trying to figure out why a Detroit with only 600k miles already had 200k on a rebuild, until you said Fitzgerald glider. By the way, it wouldn't be hard to repaint those fenders blue.
Fitzgerald gliders with engines built by them have a reputation for not lasting very long. One the guys I know about bought one with low mileage. Less than 200k motor blew. Fitzgerald would not stand behind it because he's not the original buyer. Shop ordered a new Detroit s60 based on the serial number - ended up with a 400 hp bus motor a motor that shouldn't have been put in his truck.
It is very hard to beat the economics of the 12.7 Detroit. I can properly overhaul 2 maybe 3 12.7 Detroit engines for what it would cost to overhaul a single Caterpillar. A properly built 12.7 Detroit should easily last a million miles, unfortunately with the quality of many rebuilds people are lucky to make to 500k without doing major repairs.
Detroit's are cheap... That's why they are in those trucks. They same clowns that skirt emissions are cheap skates. When it needs another rebuild in 100k you will understand they make their money on parts.

That’s an old Pillen livestock truck out of Columbus Nebraska. Jim pillen the owner is also governor of Nebraska
You're right, I noticed that too right away.
Yes
I'm glad you are having a GOOD week for a change.
Me too!!!!!

Some people saying series 60 pulls better than Caterpillar
Junk. But hey dey sound koo bruh...
@@RR-nz2vethey pull good but the blow by is brutal,,,,, but lots more U can do with Cats bcos of displacement C 15, C16, C 18
Except he mentioned it was rebuilt 200k miles ago and it’s only got 660k on it… So it needed a rebuild at 400k.
Right. If built right should go close to a million on a rebuild
Wow. I’ve been in that position already….. it’s not fun.
The color scheme is perfect for your fleet, fits right in, very good looking truck.
Thanks!
Add some black contrast with the green, Black and Green always look good together.
Black, Green,Gold look AWESOME
That would look with those colors.@@scottycollins1829
I like that you care about how your fleet looks!

U can add window in rear of sleeper!!!!! RV windows are between $150-$200 complete with trim. Jst cut the hole
Congratulations on the new truck! Glad to see you doing well.
Thanks 👍
Justin, Fsc found a factory that makes new frame rails. When not start, rebuild your trucks from the ground up. At least you know where it has been.
Right. It’s here in the northeast

It’s in Vermont I think. Some friends of mine bought two rails. They drilled holes there self. Big job. It was a Peterbilt

I would just paint the fenders blue.
Great color keep it green an white
That's the plan!
Mayflower Green from the bed bugger company
Nice looking truck get rid of the double hump fenders and put a nice set of stainless full fenders
Paint the fenders Flint Creek Blue...to match the other trucks.
Very nice truck
Thanks 👍
Would DEFINITELY be AWESOME with 24.5 on the LARGECAR K-DUBB
With the fitz block if not replaced, you’ll need those Detroits you have , but over all looks great!

Take a 60 series Detroit all day long. Had one with no jakes brakes, had the original turbo on it with over a million miles.
Re paint the fenders blue and blue strip alone top of hood like one of your current trucks
