im stuck at step 8:38. I am getting confirm disk selection but no upgrade option. I chose my Kingston usb hit enter and i get the message confirm disk selection. you have selected a disk that contains at least one partition with existing data. Any thoughts on why this keeps happening
Nice video and very informative. I have Dell R620 with the following specs. Model: PowerEdge R620 Processor Type: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2667 0 @ 2.90GHz Memory 256 I have successfully installed VMware ESXi, 7.0.0, Build # 15843807 and trying to update it to Build 16324942 but having unsupported CPU issues. Is there a recommended CPU that can support future ESXi 7 update?
@@pablitomassa82 No, I realized that the CPU CPU E5-2600 is no longer supported by VMWare . Unfortunately, I am stuck with the v0 processor. Any VMware updates afterwards, can't be installed.
i have a R620 that was also donated to me. when i try to load vmware 7, it doesnt see the PERC, and thus doesnt see any available storage to install esxi to. how did you get around that?
Do you have a youtube video on how you set up your shared NFS storage on the Synology, I saw how you have a shared folder that I think you are putting your VM's in and that way you can go to another server and access those vms. I have two Dell servers and one of them is running ESXI 7 and the other Server2019 and I want to put all the VMs on my DS1815+ where I have lots of storage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@UnkyjoesPlayhouse I did see that but I think you already had the NFS share created and just made the NFS share available to the Dell R620, I would be interested in how you set up the original NFS share and then it looks like you can share it out to all your servers. I need the info on creating the NFS share the first time and how you set up the first server to access it. thanks Jim
Congrats on the new to you server,Joe! Hope I can be so lucky sometime. enjoy your new toy!
I hope so too!

If you have the H310 mini what cable are you using to connect it to SAS A and B?

I use the 300mini I believe, I will be spinning it up later this week and will let you know for sure.
What kind of cable is that connected to the h310 mini?
How about "scared storage" for Halloween instead of Shared Storage? ;)
Great video! Thanks.
You bet!

I am assuming you watched the video? Especially this part 16:07 where I cover the NFS share ? :)
