Id like to see a reverse slasher where the mentally Ill person isn't the hero ot the villain. They are just a survivor. Make them suffer from delusions or hallucinations and by the end they have overcome their disadvantage to come out of the story not have healed as a person but rather became a survivor.
Also that the "last woman", who often survives the horror movie, did not end up living due to "virtue" or luck or something like that - but due to pure skill
They are pretty stupid in some spots, but if the movie was about intelligent people this blood bath would last 30 seconds and the rest of the movie would be autopsies

You're Next, The Guest, and Ready Or Not would make for a great triple feature. They all maintain that difficult balance of humor, action, and gore from beginning to end.

One thing I like about You're Next and much of Adam Wingard's work is the thematic elements-however lightly. One thing that connects You're Next and The Guest is the theme of "Those trained for war returning to society". You're Next is a genuinely great home invasion/slasher and I'm glad Adam Wingard has gone from the $2000 budget Pop Skull to making Godzilla vs Kong and soon a Face/Off sequel and Thundercats movie
I paused your video, went and watched this movie and then immediately came straight back to watch the rest. The ending blew me away tbh. I’d seen some parodies of the movie and even then I was like “OH DAMN” when it happened. I love Erin. I also laughed out loud after Erin literally tenderised one of the murderers head, only to take his mask off to say “Anyone recognise this guy?”. Love it.

Next video "How this horror masterpiece, broke me( AGAIN x5)
Literally used that title for 3 videos out of the dozens I made each year, calm down
stories break you in different ways.
This was one of my absolute favorites movies in the past decade! Amazing it was made on such a small budget (less than $1 million )

Oh, hey! It's one of my favorite horror movies! I had so much fun watching it going in blind. Nice to see you finally cover it.
Obligatory comment for algorithmic engagement purposes: Nice one Ryan.
I have never been this early!!! And is one of my favorite movies!!!!!
I loved this movie, somehow it hadn't crossed my radar until last year and I'm so glad I finally watched it. Super well done.
I loved this movie the razor whire scene was so shocking
I paused your video, went and watched this movie and then immediately came straight back to watch the rest.
The ending blew me away tbh. I’d seen some parodies of the movie and even then I was like “OH DAMN” when it happened.
I love Erin. I also laughed out loud after Erin literally tenderised one of the murderers head, only to take his mask off to say “Anyone recognise this guy?”. Love it.
I thought the lead actress would have gone on to have a great career in Hollywood. Sharni Vinson, I remember her in the soap Home and Away.
I actually got to go to an early screening of this film when it came out, my mom won a radio contest for it but isn't into home invasion/slasher films so she gave the tickets to my brother and I. We had the movie introduced by a radio host with a wicked rockers growl and it was so worth the hype XD
I appreciate your content. Just simping for daddy Al Gorithm don't mind me.
It feels like this film and Ready or Not take place in the same universe and just don't know it yet. They feel like siblings, but in the best way possible. Strong woman takes on hoard of evil fucks, and puts some stank on it. I have a new favorite sub-genre, HOYEVER, I just need Ryan to name it.
If the couple from the first Strangers had Erin on their side they would have lived.
Thank you as always Ryan. I said it as a response to your tweet a few days ago, and I'll say it again here. Cover what YOU want to cover, it is your channel! WE are here because we value your voice, opinion, critiques, and takes on films that you find enjoyment out of. I'm sure it wouldn't be crazy to say that many, if not most of us who subscribe to your channel, have a wider taste of films just like yourself, yet are all aligned more or less through & through.
Can't wait to see how you may evolve & change while still sticking to your core, and I'll be here as you do!
This one is so much fun
can i just say i am obsessed with your channel?! I used to be into true crime but it would always leave me with such pain in my heart for those who died and a lot of guilt for finding it interesting but then i found channels like this that discuss topics that are still scary but not necessarily real. i don’t feel guilty watching horror movie reviews or takes plus i have ADHD so watching a full movie is near impossible 😂 ur channel is awesome homie keep up the good work !!!! 👍👍👍
How about Wer, for a movie to discuss? I quite enjoyed that movie
Gods the movie was so freaking good, and one of the first thriller/horror films I saw in theatres instead of on home VHS/DVD. Thanks so much for covering this!!!
I love seeing Ryan talk about movies I love whether or not we share the same opinion on them. Keep up the great work, dude.
I'm a big fan of "You're next", very well done home invasion flick, My wife found it a tad too stressful though!
I get so excited every time I get a notification that you're doing a video about a movie I enjoy. It's always great to hear your take on it.
Just wanted to thank you for your videos. I love the breakdowns and analysis of these horror films. I love finding new movies through your videos.
