I got one of these....exzellent for long exercise sessions, also easier to play.
I also got a carbon one... also great and very loud.
But they can't beat a cane one in sound quality

Go for the lowest strength - somewhere between 1.5 to 2 depending on the style.

It depends on many factors! How much you play, how well the reed holds up and how well you take care of it. Use a reed case to protect your reeds and always take them off after every playing session and put them away safely if you want them to last longer. Take these measures and you can have a single cane reed last weeks.
