licensing wise, a simple way (yet long explanation) to put it is...... Game pays licenses for the brands it uses ingame, so they can "sell" that brand ingame. By buying the game you are also "buying" those brands. If another brand comes to console, game isnt paying for it, and since console makers earn money by selling the consoles, by having a different brand through the console is like they are "selling" that brand, because they are earning from console sales which is the device used to "sell" those brands, but they didnt pay license for it. on this situation, the device is more pursued than the game developers, because its the console makers that must have control over it, not the game developers. On pc, it is allowed because modders dont do it for profit and therefor are not "selling" the brand, and it was not created by game developers to sue the game devs, and there are hundreds of pc brands to be able to track all of them and "forbid" them to use branded mods, when they have no control over the users/gamers at all, while console makers can control what users/gamers do with their devices. This applies to all games, not only fs22, dont assume these restrictions is only for farming sim, all games that allow console mods have these kind of restrictions, specially brand copyright restrictions. Hope it makes it clear for people lol.

To a layman, a script is 'read' by the controlling program, not the processor, line at a line, and VERY inefficiently converts it to batches of pre-defined machine code using the script contents as variables, by a script interpreter. However, to change the script, only text is needed to be changed. Programs however are in binary, 1s and 0s - they come from compilers which take the text code written by the developers and convert it to binary executable machine code, specific for a specific operating system and sometimes even specific processors. This is perfectly efficient (depending on the compiler). This CANNOT be done in real time. However, it is the MOST efficient method of program execution. Changes to binary code are done with patches, which create 'jumps' from where they want a change, to a whole new section, and then jump back...so from a processor point of view, its completely transparent. In no way shape or form, will Giants (or any other company) allow users to PATCH their code - hence scripting is a great way to offer user customization in a 'code style 'environment, not in just games, but all commercial software. However, THAT type of customization (scripting) is deemed a massive security and quality risk by console companies - and security/quality is a cornerstone to the console business case, so it will never change. If you want scripting, get a PC, period.

So.... to make their equipment and stuff work like it's supposed (like picking up and tree/s) would take more than just base game "Farming Sim" and that requires third party modding which isnt allowed.) Just wanted to clear that up a bit.
Anothere great vid FSG, the mods are coming faster than with fs19 but I still feed we are all obligated to dig that little bit deeper when we go looking for mods on there party sites, and make shore that we take the time to find the contact info for the mod author and drop then a thanks for there time and work for the community .
Great information thanks. Bring a console player would you know why on no man’s land I don’t have the option to sell silage at the farm shop? I’m updated on everything.
They aren't charging you for the mod but I suspect that at least some are getting paid by those junk download sites that try to trick you into downloading extra junk files.
@@TheFarmSimGuy I forgot about people reposting. It makes sense that they would be the major offenders. Whenever I tell people about this game, I always tell them about all the hard work that people do to give away their free mods.
If i may correct you around the Patreon and donations subject... you have it for the most part incorrect... A huge amount of modders are actually outright charging you for mods... Which i understand that models cost money and it takes time and so forth to ingame these mods... but you do have those who ask donation but many many modders are outright hiding their mods behind "Paywalls"... if you want proof of this you can contact me and i will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Dont get me wrong i truly understand why some of these guys choose to do it and i most definately understand the constant drama that goes with this subject but i just had to correct you. I do not think there is anything Giants can do about it as these mods are distributed outside of their control.
Oh I absolutely know it happens, but it is of course against Giants terms of service to directly charge for mods so this is how some modders get around it through the "donation" route.

I would of been happy to pay extra to buy a game that was made for ps5 and then am not playing a ps4 game on my ps5 but am just going to buy a pc so this problem goes away
@@TheFarmSimGuy yeah definitely is that’s the problem with backwards compatibility like it’s name it’s backwards lol , but don’t think they will ever make separate games ie PS4 ps5 but there’s talk they are going to separate pc from console
I agree, but I’m amazed how many don’t it’s kinda scary, all the info is out there, people just don’t seem to have the appetite to read stuff for themselves
So like I said…….Giants could build the scripts for autoload pallets like they did for autoload bale trailers (difference between a bale and a pallet, nothing)…….not interested in auto drive or any other mod. Giants are at fault here……so don’t say it can’t be done, it could be put into the base game. I’ve complained to giants, I suggest everyone else does the same…….they had better put it in soon!
8% of all mods being tested are for console, that’s an absolute joke. I hope Giants streamlines the mod requirements or for next years game make an entirely separate mod hub for series x and ps5 compared to the older versions. FS22 clearly is better suited to be played on pc than console, from a mod perspective and that’s very unfortunate for console players
But that could just be one specific day, all mods go through a first stage of being tested for PC then move onto console testing afterwards so it could be in future days way more mods are in console testing than PC. The majority of mods (other than ones that use scripts for obvious reasons) are available for Console 👍
Yes it’s a common misconception, don’t get me wrong you can pay thousands for a top end gaming PC but you definitely don’t need one of those for Farm Sim, I just bought a Pc for my son as he is learning how to use Photoshop as well as play games, plus he can do his homework on it (he’s less impressed about that 😂) but it cost around $800 and he’ll be able to upgrade parts to more powerful stuff as and when he needs to. The only issue right now is availability as like lots of things in the world are in short supply.
Well I don't agree with the Facebook group page you were talking about, hiding it in a group isn't putting it out for the public to use, it's putting it out for a select group of people, which imo is kinda rude.
Giants can release scripted mods, so why don’t they? Especially a mod like course play would be cool if they put the effort in to bringing it to console instead of just extra models. maybe some of those heftier mod only be available on next gen equipment
It’s a valid argument, It would have to be next gen only I think, Courseplay would melt a PS4 processor, I think you’d be in single figures for frame rate. Also the likes of Courseplay and Autodrive are continually being upgraded with new features, unlike seasons for example which once implemented doesn’t change. So they would have to continually rollout game updates which Giants have to pay money to Sony and Microsoft for
@@TheFarmSimGuy love the game none the less but from the perspective of someone who “doesn’t” know how to make a game per say but understands that after doing something 4 or 5 or 6 times you get better at that thing.. for example why can mods come out with these AI systems a month after game release but giants can’t release the base game with better AI? Let’s note that they’ve had plenty of time to perfect or take ideas from mods in past games
@@TheFarmSimGuy just don’t understand why a modder can make these systems work but not the programmers at giants.. like Pc gaming n’ next gen consoles aren’t very much different in the sense of power. Just sounds like laziness on GIANTS part or maybe just very unorganized
@@TheFarmSimGuy okay, what if they put the courseplay systems in the game, hypothetically it’s optimized it’s good 👍🏼 it’s not a mod but a setting you can turn on or off.. it doesn’t have to to be constantly revolving and changing like the PC mod cause it’s not a mod it’s just part of the game
@@TheFarmSimGuy like it’s not even too late to do an update like that.. yes it would have to go through lots of reviews and get approvals etc. I’m not saying don’t give credit where it’s owed but when it’s essentially FS19 remaster and it’s got a texture pack n’ some new visual effects like the pixelated deer 🦌 I almost shit a brick
If that’s what you’ve deduced from it plus your other two comments on my map tours asking questions that are talked about In detail I suggest you start watching with your sound turned on 🙄
Console gamers aren't "crying" they are frustrated. We've paid in just as much money to the support of farming simulator. Understanding that there are restrictions to what can and cannot be done, just remember that the love of playing a game isn't restricted. Pc gaming is obviously more expensive just because of the hardware involved, some can't afford that luxury. Console gamers aren't asking the world of anyone, but there are questions like why do we have to pay full price for a game we can't fully enjoy for its vast amount of possibilities made by mods we can't access. You shouldn't be allowed to influence with your negative views and patronizing outlook.
@@TheFarmSimGuy you influence people so there for you are an influencer, very negative shitty attitude, and definitely your opinion and "feelings" is taking over facts.
@The FarmSim Guy Maybe try influencing without patronizing an entire group of people for just wanting a couple extras. I could care less about what you have to say any further.
And this is why we can't have sensible conversations, you just want a rant. I'm not patronizing, purely stating the facts that at the moment, it's not possible for console to have everything PC has, that's just the way it is. So rather than being angry at me, direct your frustration at Sony and Microsoft who won't allow 3rd party scripts which is limiting the mods you can get. You paid just as much money to support Farming Simulator as everyone else - That has nothing to do with 3rd party mods, you've paid exactly $0 to modders who create stuff outwith the base game. The game you bought for console is identical to the game I bought for PC. Have a great day! 👍
@The FarmSim Guy It's obviously impossible from what is allowed, Console gaming has limits. When I seek out answers for anything I don't expect there to be much information wise, sense console modding is complicated. I want answers just like anyone else wants answers to their questions. I only wanted to clear up the fact that Console gamers were crying over the mods, the information is limited and most answers aren't clear so forgive me for the way I acted like a child, but in alot of ways it's just as frustrating to have the question asked as not being answers when asked. I've played farming simulator sense 2015 and I've tried to be patient knowing the game has limits on a limited system.
Sorry thats not how it works dude don't be an ignorant brat why screw over everyone else just cause console can't get a particular mod lmao grow up dude 🤣 nobody likes a whiner lmao 🤣

So.... to make their equipment and stuff work like it's supposed (like picking up and tree/s) would take more than just base game "Farming Sim" and that requires third party modding which isnt allowed.) Just wanted to clear that up a bit.
Nicely done FSG 😁. Great input in this 👍.
Thanks Rusty, I appreciate it man, Hope all is good with you?
@@TheFarmSimGuy all is good, thank you :)
Great video, with fantastic clear explanations. Thanks FSG
Thanks Viking I appreciate it
Well said, lot of really good points
Thank you 😊
You're doing yeoman's work here, FSG. I hope this helps.
I hope so too, thanks for the support Kieran 👍
Great video FSG and thanks for explaining I find it very helpful 🙂 Question: Does Modders use Instagram aswell?
Thanks TxR, I think some do, but not many, usually as a supporting channel alongside others
@@TheFarmSimGuy Thanks FSG 🙂
Thank you sir for the informative vid.
Great video.
So true, couldn’t argree more
Soooooo….. no boat mods for console….?
I very much doubt it
@@TheFarmSimGuy I love the contractor series btw!!
Anothere great vid FSG, the mods are coming faster than with fs19 but I still feed we are all obligated to dig that little bit deeper when we go looking for mods on there party sites, and make shore that we take the time to find the contact info for the mod author and drop then a thanks for there time and work for the community .
Well said Mark, a little thank you goes a long way 👍
Great information thanks. Bring a console player would you know why on no man’s land I don’t have the option to sell silage at the farm shop? I’m updated on everything.
That’s strange, you should be able too, might be best to ask on Alien Jims Facebook page
Have always avoided the mods on Facebook. Can't stand Facebook, had an account when it started but deleted it shortly after and never gone back.
And I fully respect you for making that choice 👍
@@TheFarmSimGuy I understand its easy for people to use though. Its why see a lot of local small businesses use it as its just easy for them.
They aren't charging you for the mod but I suspect that at least some are getting paid by those junk download sites that try to trick you into downloading extra junk files.
Yes agree with this Jim, usually the people taking others mods and reuploading them without permission will do that to attempt to make some $$$
@@TheFarmSimGuy I forgot about people reposting. It makes sense that they would be the major offenders. Whenever I tell people about this game, I always tell them about all the hard work that people do to give away their free mods.
The Facebook thing is whats irritating to me. I will not use Facebook for anything, but seems all the good mods are there
Totally respect your choice, but as I said in the vid, it is the perfect platform for sharing news and information about upcoming releases for mods
Great video, could not agree more.
That said. 🤬book is still a no go for me though, in any way, shape or form. A bit annoying when it comes to mods, but hey, I can still enjoy the game without them.
Thanks Purple I appreciate it, and like I said, you can always utilize a friend who has got Facebook to share the mod link with you 👍
@@TheFarmSimGuy Not an option for me given I have no friends that play the game at all.
Join some friendly discord servers, they can help you out, link to mine in the description to the vid 👍
may you help me find a couple mods on facebook? I don't have it lol and seeing other yter use them is bugging me
When will we see winches and tow trucks? Even in lizard or TX variants
Not sure, I'm sure they will come at some point
I havnt got any new mods since Friday and I'm on my latest version of the game.
facebook is better than trying to find it in discords
I would of been happy to pay extra to buy a game that was made for ps5 and then am not playing a ps4 game on my ps5 but am just going to buy a pc so this problem goes away
I know what you mean John, I think it's as frustrating for next gen console players as PC players with FS22
@@TheFarmSimGuy yeah definitely is that’s the problem with backwards compatibility like it’s name it’s backwards lol , but don’t think they will ever make separate games ie PS4 ps5 but there’s talk they are going to separate pc from console
Well put FSG.
Most people should know this modders owe you nothing so stop asking
I agree, but I’m amazed how many don’t it’s kinda scary, all the info is out there, people just don’t seem to have the appetite to read stuff for themselves
Why isnt there excavators on 22 when there are on 19
Because modders haven't made of converted them yet I guess
So like I said…….Giants could build the scripts for autoload pallets like they did for autoload bale trailers (difference between a bale and a pallet, nothing)…….not interested in auto drive or any other mod.
Giants are at fault here……so don’t say it can’t be done, it could be put into the base game.
I’ve complained to giants, I suggest everyone else does the same…….they had better put it in soon!
Good for you 👍
Anyone know where i can get this mod?
Yes Todd grab it here ua-cam.com/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/v-deo.html 👍
I don't like mod dowland Limit on console I think they add new Settings menu "size of mods space" and everyone is happy
I think that is something put in place by Sony and Microsoft Giants has no control over it
@@TheFarmSimGuy maybe new fs game (sure only ps 5 and Xbox) will add what I said
@@gamers33573 Yes that would be cool
Anybody experiencing more crashes with the new mods on ps5?
Does the game run OK without mods? perhaps some of the mods are needing updates.
No matter what platform you play on the game is awesome
Well said 👍😊👍
I disagree there this game is far better suited for PC
Adamda
Not everybody can afford a PC I wish I could
A PC that plays Farm Sim can be bought for virtually the same price as a PS5 and it’s more practical 😊👍
@@TheFarmSimGuy I didn't know that people tell me that cost a lot
@@TheFarmSimGuy it don't matter what platform you play on love Farm Sim
Yes it’s a common misconception, don’t get me wrong you can pay thousands for a top end gaming PC but you definitely don’t need one of those for Farm Sim, I just bought a Pc for my son as he is learning how to use Photoshop as well as play games, plus he can do his homework on it (he’s less impressed about that 😂) but it cost around $800 and he’ll be able to upgrade parts to more powerful stuff as and when he needs to. The only issue right now is availability as like lots of things in the world are in short supply.
I agree it's hard to come by things right now it's crazy time in the world say a prayer for all the people out there going through it
Well I don't agree with the Facebook group page you were talking about, hiding it in a group isn't putting it out for the public to use, it's putting it out for a select group of people, which imo is kinda rude.
But it is public, anyone can join, no different to having a library card for example
I can't stand this game on console
So what you are saying is you have to buy a 6000$ pc to have the mods
Not influencing, or negative, purely stating facts
I've played farming simulator sense 2015 and I've tried to be patient knowing the game has limits on a limited system.
all i getta say i dont belive this
Don’t believe what?
You don’t know what your talking about
Ok 👍
If you can't make it for consoles don't make it
Sorry thats not how it works dude don't be an ignorant brat why screw over everyone else just cause console can't get a particular mod lmao grow up dude 🤣 nobody likes a whiner lmao 🤣
Or if it doesn’t run on your system and you want it, get a better system, same (completely flawed and poorly considered) argument
@@TheFarmSimGuy take you game and stuck it if you can't make it for everybody don't make

@@TheFarmSimGuy thanks to the modders that take the time to make mods for consoles and the one'sthat don't are the lazy one
