Tom Murphy is a legend in our industry. Over the years, Tom's relentless dedication to replicating the magic of vintage instruments has made him an authority in the guitar world, and all you need to do is look at his list of clients to see proof of his skills. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Dickey Betts of The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton have all called on Tom to apply his signature magic to their guitars.
So, when our friends at Gibson offered us the opportunity to join such an illustrious list of collaborators, we simply couldn't resist. Now, after months of careful preparation and development, Wildwood Guitars and the Gibson Custom Shop are proud to unveil the Wildwood Spec by Tom Murphy Les Paul Standard Series.
You can see Tom's passion, artistic flair and eye for detail in the historically-accurate plastics, historic serial numbers and stunning Murphy-Burst finishes that grace each one of these guitars, but their appeal goes far beyond the tangible aspects of guitar design. Tom Murphy has imbued these guitars with a vintage mojo that is hard to quantify but impossible to miss. His talent and dedication practically seep through every pore of the wood, and the resulting instruments are some of the most accurate Burst recreations we have EVER played.

If Greg played one more lick on that guitar, I think he'd be taking it home with him!
Oh wow!
Greg Koch, or the human lick library on the internet. Big fan, watch your videos weekly! Thanks for all the fun and jams you upload. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany.
So beautiful and amazing tone. No, not Greg with his gerth and gain. The Les Paul. droooooolll
please keep sharing these in this way, always makes my life better!
God that guitar is awesome beautiful and so loose singing sweet sutaining tone. My god i want one. Gregs playing is godlike.
Mr Koch. You are a beautiful man.
Great googly moogly that is some monster tone and just dirty, sick playing.
I would love to hear him play something other than Fenders, Gibsons, and PRSs.
1:38 - Reminds me of Ike Turner's "Gettin' Nasty" That LP sounds excellent through that Koch amp!
Nice!
You guys need to either stock a vintage Twin or a Carr Mercury V, to get one of the two classic authentic sounds of these kinds of axes.
Greg Koch - Plays better than Eddie Van Halen, raps better than David Lee Roth.
Jimi Hendrix say's, "stop or I'll break your fingers." Just kidding, loved the Freedom jam.
According to UA-cam I'm the 59th like. Felt special :)
Greg...GreG...GrEG...GREG...You wild and woolly toque wearing pseudosquatch................... Nice jams, fellow Squatch.
Hmmm love it! :-)
Squishy and Delicioushe. 🤣Gibson should let Greg name the pick ups.
Sounds like a Gibson made of Alder. None of these sound like vintage les pauls, but that doesn't mean they dont sound great!
?? why
That's some deep neck for a 59'... !
ESQ?.......touch lick and gnaw...... attorneys at law.....
$11,716.43 with Colorado's Boulder county sales tax. Right, like gold leaves just started growing on trees, pine needles that burn like gasoline. If you got it, burn it. Meh.
@@witnessingobscura952 I wish... With those Rosewood fretboards and the calamity CITES forget it...! :(
Greg, in the future please play ALL Les Paul guitars through either a PLEXI, JCM800 or for the love of God, a FRIEDMAN! I want to hear some REAL overdrive! :D
Emm they used a Friedman head to get the dirt tones for a looong time already, check out the older videos, actually 'The Greg' sounds WAY better than the Friedman and it's still transparent enough to let the guitar's sound come through, it would be actually better if they keep using Greg's amp
@@adolfoherrerat I second this. The Friedman sounded awful compared to the Greg.
I'm almost certain this is the first comment on any of these Wildwood videos with something positive to say about that horrific fuzzbox they've finally got rid of.
The Greg > Paper and Comb > Friedman.
