Kilker tone just plugged straight in....boost helps a lot..I want one of those new badlander's..I look forward to seeing you and Ola do your thing..🤘🤜🤛
Fun fact pulling out the shitty mesa labeled glass and buying a Eurotubes full retube high gain kit will make the amp not even need a boost/over drive in front and will make that Rectifier come alive. I tried this option way back in 07/08' and it did improve the tone a lot and made it sound a lot better without using any boost in front. Because the tubes mesa loads in from the factory, make them sound fuzzy, muddy, and muffled out of the box.
Thought about doing that! And you dont even have to get it rebiased do you? Beciase I think all you do with the mesa is flip the switches to 6L6 correct?
@@chriszembol9784 Correct they're fixed biased amps. He will select the best tubes based on what amp you have and what style of music you're playing...
On the red modern channel, the treble control is more a high mid control, and the presence is more a high treble control. Note that the presence on the red channel is not a "real" presence control. For the orange channel things are different.
A lot of great guitarists have used these for some killer tones. But from what I’ve heard from this video, I don’t think I would jive very well with this amp. I’ll stick to the mark series and 5150s.
I've gotta say; I kinda like that low-end sound the way you had it set up to begin with! Just saying... I have to wonder if the sound you're getting has anything to do with the SM-57? Well I'm sure it does, but as I said - the way it sounded too begin with was the way I would rock it! (If I had one) sick!!
Have you thought of selling impulses? I would love an impulse of your Oversize Rectifier cab. Do you have a flat solid state power amp to ping your cab with?
It sounded better without any boosts I think the two you chose don't really work well with the rectifier. The ts-9 and od808 sound great with this amp.
I'm broke but had a couple real nice guitars. I was looking to do a trade for an amp so I was at the mercy of whoever would be down to trade. Never liked mesas. So of course the only person that would trade was for a dual rectifier lol. I'm learning to like it. I learned that I like it more in person. People scoop the mids in most videos (fail) but if you really coax out the mids with a ts9 and an eq pedal it sounds great
No disrespect man but running it through a two note? You telling me that two note doesn't effect the tone at all? I bought q captor x and it definitely effects the tone, makes it sound like an amp sim
I have a mesa triple rectifier from 2003 that was modded from a parallel to series fx loop. When my loop is bypassed, this amp sounds like a monster. When the loop is on, it really sounds bad. My problem is, i need to kick on reverb and delay from time to time that are in fx loop for my lead work. I really need help with this amp.
I played a roadster at a guitar center and I loved it! I really wish I had the money to buy it and it wasn’t as expensive compared to the ones on reverb
I love my roadster 2x12 but there is just so many functions and It definitely takes some time getting dialed to to the channels you want! I still need to spend more time with it. But for the price of what you get you cant beat it!
I think the modern 4x12 that is in there is based on a Mesa 4x12. They did say they would add a 5150, which is pretty much the same as a 6505, so hopefully that happens soon!
I am sure theres something wrong with me. I dont think that amp sounded great at any point in this video. They always sound like theres not enough gain/distortion or too much and muddy, its weird
This is the exact issue I have with rectifiers. Unboosted it sounds very dry and boomy. Everybody shouting 'put a boost in front' just makes me think: so apparently this amp almost achieves greatness but it still needs a crutch to really come into its own.
4x12's usually resonate in a more specific and usually desired spot. The low end is generally huge. On a 1x12 for example, it's a bit higher in the spectrum in terms of where that bass blooms and generally sounds not.. as big? I could be talking out of my ass and I'm not sure if the science of it but that's generally what I've gathered. I've only ever owned a 1x12 and I've only played through 4x12's. They definitely sound huge.
Thanks for dropping by! If you like this series let me know below! 👇
"Rank that recto" that is not gonna age well in spanish jajajjajajajajjaja, love your videos man
Thank you for turning the damn bass knob back up *after* the OD is engaged.. you impress me more and more every video.
I mean, I like low end lol 🤷♂️
@@TaylorDanley Exactly!
Theres another word for doing that, its called "muddy", also commonly called "shit"...
Cool series idea. Mesa cab with the SM57 sounded the best to me.
Rank that Rectum! Sorry I had to. Love the channel man
Wreck that rectum?
It’s rectum fryer
What I thought I heard
The sound from that mesa cab was stunning 🤘🔥🤘

If you want this kind of tone, don't get a Badlander. I bought one, had it for 2 months, then traded it for a Mark V.
Much like hell, there isn't one king, but a number of kings. This has always been one of said legendary kings.
Agreed.

Nice video, you really display the Rectifier tone :D

Man that mud killer really turns it into a different animal completely
Sick video man!

this is a great video man!have u played through the badlander?
Thanks! No I haven't, but I definitely want to!
Wreck that Rectum...I mean...Rank that Recto lol
Rank that Recto featuring the Mercuriall Recto and Amped Roots would be interesting to see
Sick! Any reason why you don’t own one?

Можно было взять сигнал из оконечника с гнезда slave out пустить через di box и потом уже в звуковую карту.
A+

Just recently bought my first Mesa. Its a Roadster and it is amazing. I call it - The Roaster.

What model Jackson is that!?
oh man I thought you said "rate that rectum" I was like damn... what site am I on??
I too enjoy some Krank in my collection.

I agree, I think it would have sounded better if the presence knob was back a bit.
My JCM 900 with an SD-1 will eat that Recto alive
The only time a Marshall can even attempt to keep up with a recto is if the recto is a 3 channel or broken
Then you woke up.
Jcm 900 😂
@MayoCoCEO What's wrong with the three channel multi watts? Just wondering, new to rectos.
Please rank my recto!!! lol \m/
Why ppl buy 4x12 cab if we use just one speaker at time?

If it's terrible THEN WHY IS EVERYONE COMPARING their amps to it, it's the standard for 35 yrs
Episode two? ;)
If I do, I'm gonna have to do it on something that wins... like the QC or AXEFX
звук плохой. глухой и песочный. на марк 5 история славы меса была окончена. не знаю зачем они так поступили но есть как есть.
Flubb machine. ENGL, EVH>Recto
EVH has way to much natural high end
