Tbh it was that long ago, I really can't remember but if that's what I said, I just googled e8 sockets and they came up. It's like a female torx bit.

Hi. Did u push snap the wipers back on as I changed mine yesterday and did so and the brand new mechanism snapped. Cheers in advance for your reply

Push snap??? If your new linkage snapped then it sounds like an issue with the mechanism. I'd contact your supplier and see what they say.
