    Thanks for the review, yeah I think that is really bad that some people doesnt apreciated the work of the "after LTE band", I think that is a good band, petrucci is not all the magic.

    Dudes! (Sunderlanding and CknoxW) you had the largest youtube-coments-battle, lol. But seriously if you want to argee you must do some research and in this case Sunderlanding was most right.

    @Aaronmac404 Yes, it's because this is a progressive rock-experimental band. They were trying to make something unique.

    I absolutely love the contrast of rock drumming to jazzy piano playing. In fact, this is the first time I've heard anything like it. I fucking love it hahaha

    This is still opinion that you think they aren't great musicians. Some people think Hendrix is great and very talented... personally, I think he's shit. Portnoy is mediocre in your eyes. He is a legend in my eyes. It is IMPOSSIBLE to argue about skills of musicians and music. All I said is if he had no technique... he wouldn't be in a band. You took it the wrong way and assumed I was somehow saying anyone that is in a band is good. NOT what I meant by any means.

    @xMetalUpYourA55x hey don't knock meshuggah, honestly they are more unique than this band, although i would say this band is more talented as musicians although Fredrik Thordendal.....is a fucking god in my book, his Sol Niger Within instrumental album proves that

    If that is what you think, then there is nothing I can do to change your opinion. But he wouldn't be ranked as one of the greatest drummers of all time if that is all he did.

  • @kilipeti
    @kilipeti 13 років тому

    @ikeeln00bz yes, but people are comfortable enough to qualify too many bands progressive. I would say Meshuggah is one of the better guesses amongst others.

    By the way... you basically just said that only people who know nothing think he sucks... Just saying. You should work on your grammar.

    Dream Theater is one of the most technical bands out there. Out don't know where you get this shit from.

    Mike Portnoy is his name. He is one of the greatest drummers of all time and thats not even opinion.

    @ikeeln00bz it's mathcore and mathcore is progressive in a way. They invented a style as well.

    Stylistically Dream Theater/Liquid Tension have certainly followed in the footsteps of musical giants that have preceded them. Without question. But the same must be said about all musicians. Nobody creates something 100% isolated from the influences of others. It is a gradient of novelty, if you will, with which everything is produced. You could argue that Dream Theater's output is 'less original"...but why bother? Either you enjoy it or you don't. I for one enjoy it very much.

    i cant see what the problem is, some peple say MP is not that good, like that was a bad thing, nobody is perfect, maybe my father is a very good doctor, but the existence of a better doctor does not mean that my dad sucks; dont be childish and open your mind to better musicians, but still is wrong to say "OMG portnoy sucks" cause thats not true, MP is VERY GOOD, but not the best, and before you strart to reply shit, look at my profile, im a big Dream Theater fan, have a nice day =)

    @Sunderlanding btw, DT are sorta the ones who gave the birth and meaning to Prog metal. U can define Prog metal any way ya like, but theres no final and one correct definition. Dream Theater make a lot of songs that are very long and that progress with in the song (like Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, which is a song that progress through many different subgenres of music).

    @kilipeti yeaah they invented djent and that shit and some weird time signatures, but i wouldnt put it as far as progressive as part of their genre, maaybe as a tiny word to describe them but thats about it

  • @StahliCell
    @StahliCell 14 років тому

    naah Cknox was more right... the definition progressive is not a tag u put on any band that does something new... FOR ME progressive is a genre itself which is very strange and i like.. but those are my tastes..

    @xMetalUpYourA55x to this day I still can't see why some people call Meshuggah progressive.
