I really appreciate the straight forward approach you have to making wine. Last week I started up a 4 gallon batch of Mango wine. My wife wanted to watch a show and asked how long it would take. I told her 30 minutes, lol. Lo and behold, I went from start to sealed in 30 minutes (Cleanup took another 10 but she didn't care). I tasted it after one week and it's already amazing!
Appreciate your videos, Very much a beginner 😊 Is there any particular reason you put the bag in before you mix? Could i do this with the dried mint you buy from the grocery store? After watching a few other channels, yours seems to have more information, Much appreciated!
Thanks for supporting us. I just always put additives at bottom of bucket. Don't want to put onto the fruit in case of a Mishap. Fresh mint and fresh fruit is always going to be better than dried ingredients when you can get it. Good luck wine making is easier once get a few tips from this channel. 👍👍😀😀🍷🍷
Just found your channel. Real informative. I have never made wine before, but want to now. I looked at your other channel too, are you in PA? Im outside of Lebanon. Thanks Great channel!
Yes i am in Pennsylvania about 30 minutes from you. ... thanks for watching both channels. And please subscribe. If you need any help with your wine let me know. I want to see you be successful and it's really not hard once understand the basics. 👍👍😎😎🍷🍷
Nice 1 gallon recipe. I plan on making one similar. With mint leaves, regular black tea water from one tea bag, corn sugar, juice from one lemon and a little orange zest boiled with 1 teaspoon of bread yeast for the yeast nutrient , pectic enzyme, No bag to hold the mint just blend it fine in the tea/lemon juice(autosiphon), it will fall to to bottom of the jar/bucket. One thing I do not like is how much StarSan(contains phosphates) went into your fermentation. I rinse my fermentation vessel and bottles with distilled water afterwards.
Sounds like a good process. But tippy degassing the purpose of rinsing star San. No Need to rinse. It is made to be used as a wet solution bubbles and all. 👍👍
Well that sounds good. They're are millions of combination of fruits to make wine... TIP... NEVER FERMENT COCONUT IT CAN KILL YOU. I get lots of questions on that.
I love watch your videos but I got a question? Your gallon measure is American or UK? Because I live in UK and if I add 2 pounds of sugar will be different if the measure is not correct. Thank you so much for your videos
These recipes are in us gallon... however the recipe will work for UK gallon as well not a big difference so will work and no need for adjustment. The most important thing in my recipe is extra fruit to account for this. Great question👍👍👍
Hello there. How long can this wine be stored after all the fermentation done. Expiry date or anything like this? I know the more you store the wine the better it gets in taste. But i have seen some videos online that says best to be keep for only some time.
When’s your up date on the mint wine or have I missed it. Did u start another video after the first step on the mint video and didn’t show the ending. Thank You look forward for more upcoming videos and for u and your wife making more traveling videos
Thanks Mike. I just finished the mint wine video yesterday so I have to edit it should be out this week. More travel stuff coming too. Heading on a cruise in a few weeks. Thanks for watching our channels. Have a great week. 👍👍♥️♥️🥂🥂
It's possible to do it just with orange juice, with or without the pulp, but expect way more sediment...like 1/4 of your fermenter worth of it. Not this wine tho
Hi thanks for your Videos . I am just in the process of making my first wine. The first hydrometer reading was about 9 so I added more sugar to take it to 14. Can you tell me, was I correct to do that? Thanks Dave.
@@HowToDoneRight Awsome Thanks. First attempt is mulberry. 3rd day its just started to ferment🤞Just watched the Mead video, I may try that next, I have bee’s 🐝 so plenty of honey. Cheers Dave.
Getting ready to put out my completion video of the mead.. yes if i had an endless supply of honey that would be on my list. Even using honey to backsweeten would be awesome. Thanks for taking care of bees we need them.🐝🐝👍👍

@@HowToDoneRight Same here. All you need is about 2L of rose petals per 5L which is about 1/3 more than a US gallon. You know the rest. I actually stuffed two 900g (almost exactly 2lbs) mason jars full of red and pink rose petals and made a 5L batch 5 months ago. That wine is out of this world good! I have to make your banana orange blend btw!
@@HowToDoneRight Yeah, I have plenty of bushes in my backyard so am lucky in that regard, but try asking around with friends, family, neighbors before buying. You can easily get them for free. Next year tho. Or if you live in a warmer climate, you probably still have roses blooming. I'm in Scandinavia so...nope for me. I really should've gotten more and either frozen them or dried them.
I live on Ilha de Itamaracá, near the capital (Recife) of the State of Pernambuco. And I want to help family farmers make mango wine to earn extra income.
@@HowToDoneRight I am so excited to see it. I just did my first batch. I went with mangos. Found them for .88 cents per mango at Walmart. So about $12 for a 3 gallon batch.

@@HowToDoneRight So far so good. It's almost done fermenting and it already tastes amazing. I was so bummed for you when your batch got ruined!

Thank you so much. It just doesn't bubble like the S shaped ones that I have. Just my preference. I like bubbles lol

Does orange serve as a pH stabilizer for the wort? Would it be possible to do this without adding water?
Not sure what you mean about not adding water ?

Oh yeah. Check out my wine from juice video just have to watch out for sulfites in juice or willl not ferment.

What would I have to do for a higher ABV? Less water? Or is there another option?
More sugar and less water. Your yeast will only tolerate so much abv So have to read yeast package.

If you've never made a rose petal wine, do it. You won't regret it. Works amazing as a mead too!

@@HowToDoneRight second day of fermentation I am getting a sulfur smell. What can I do? Did I do something wrong?
That can be normal. Should go away as you rack it. After you rack it stir slightly to get some oxygen mixed in.
Wow, seriously?? This is nuts, Can you really make wine out of anything?
Yes.... I seen a guy make wine out of a taco bell burrito once... but this mint wine will be amazing.
