I was twelve years old when the floods happened. I still remember seeing all of this with my own eyes. I still can’t believe it’s been over 8years already
Important info: The scene you see at the beginning of the video shows a bridge with water running underneath. Normally you can comfortably walk or bike underneath it so you stay off surface streets.
I was in the area. Had lived there for over two decades. Have an amateur geologist in the family who told me to buy a house 'up on the hill,' rather than by the river. The house still stands. It was no picnic, believe me.
*sigh* Unfortunately I remember this like yesterday... Phone calls from the national guard, being trapped in my house, and so many more TERRIBLE things
Having some of the same issues over here in Boulder - just wanted to give a thumb's up on this; you did a great job of filming the conditions... steady, good angles, well-timed shots and you captured quite a few different parts of town - nice work.
Wow this brings back memories. My grandma lived in the apartments right when you come off the bridge on ken Pratt and Boston ave. She was evacuated and lost everything. Her life was never the same. Prices skyrocketed after and she never had a permanent home for the rest of her life. She passed in 2020.
only briefly covered in this good record, was the Attic Storage on the other side of the Pratt overpass. LPD Ofc Jeff Satur videoed from a helicopter this same area. My unit at the western end looked like the prow of a ship. Surprisingly, everything shelved above the floor was dry. Wow. What a horrible memory. The rain did not stop and it fell in buckets.
Hi Payton...My business is called Premier Action Video and we used parts of your video to create a magnificent documentary video for the Dickens Opera House in Longmont. We used your footage and gave you credit like you asked on the credits. This event was a benefit fund raiser for victims of the floods in Boulder County and everyone donated all of their time, money, resources and energy for free...including us. follow my youtube name to the link. Thank you for releasing it to the public !!!
This just shows that given enough rain flooding can occur almost anywhere. We need to be better prepared for this stuff. I hope for the best for those living in Boulder.
That’s interesting. It took them a year to rebuild it. I’ve seen amazing detailed 🧱 structures With domes spires Cupola With insides made of marble all the trimmings of the old world supposedly built in a year 😅😂 in a town that only has so many months out of a year before it’s frozen solid winter in spring. Make that make sense.
Wow that bridge might get destroyed if the level of the water keeps increasing. The speed of the flow is frightening. Hope you all stay safe in this area.
Thanks for the superb coverage on the floods~ I have a house In longmont and I live out of state and I'm very worried about it. It's right over by creekside park in southern longmont~ I heard that whole area is a lake.
My inlaws lost their home in West Longmont. Twinn peaks to be exact. I am glad that they got out. Longmont became so expensive thanks to the yuppies that we couldn't afford to live there so we lost our home.
Meanwhile, in the garden and Clare Waclaw provide for mutual love. Vaclav is willing to kidnap Clara to marry her , but she does not want to . Papkin takes action only when the bricklayers are chased . He delivers a monologue on his own honor . Arrives Wenceslaus , who presents himself as an official of Regent and gives himself freely in captivity.
It's almost as bad as we get it here in England, but it lasts for months where i live in gloucestershire i go canoeing when it hits us on the river seven.
MASTERKINGSROCK KING Depending on where you were at the time it could have been awesome or devastating I knew people who lost their houses I'm lucky enough to live on a huge hill, I live in Longmont and huge fields had pretty turned into a lakes.
What freaked me out was I saw the damage a mere 8 days of solid rain did -- NOW I understand what FORTY days of solid rain did to the earth back in the days of Noah!

I live in north Longmont, so luckily our area didn't really get hit, but there is no way in or out of Longmont.

Great footage... so sorry for all the families and people that were devastated.
I was out of town, and returned the evening of the 14th. Much less water but a lot of cleanup to do. My house was spared, but neighbors flooded bad.

This just shows that given enough rain flooding can occur almost anywhere. We need to be better prepared for this stuff. I hope for the best for those living in Boulder.
prayers to all in CO...we had to deal with flooding 2 years ago in NE, SD and IA along the Missouri River... devastating!
Our school is on Boston, between Sunset and Hover. Wow, this is on the corner! Luckily 3 of the buildings on our side have been spared.
To believe I had recently moved to colorado right around this time.
Good thing i stayed in Broomfield for 2 years before moving to Longmont
The Bridge at the beginning of the video was destroyed and it took them almost a entire year to rebuild it.

So many trails, roads, homes, businesses, and people's way of life gone. Heartbreaking.
It's could've been much worse. Calm down.
The moments before disaster are truly terrifying. Let's protect the environment to mitigate such disasters.
Wow that bridge might get destroyed if the level of the water keeps increasing. The speed of the flow is frightening. Hope you all stay safe in this area.
Holy moly... I lived there just a couple years ago. Some places are unrecognizable because you can't even tell where the street is... yikes.
Thanks for the superb coverage on the floods~ I have a house In longmont and I live out of state and I'm very worried about it. It's right over by creekside park in southern longmont~ I heard that whole area is a lake.
This was a walk in the park compared to what we got out a few miles out of Greeley, but it was all bad for Colorado.....God bless you alll!!!!

Meanwhile, in the garden and Clare Waclaw provide for mutual love. Vaclav is willing to kidnap Clara to marry her , but she does not want to .

I was a bus driver during this time living in Longmont very scary
After that storm my mom and i went driving, and we saw what looked like huge icebergs in a ditch, but it turned out to be hail o_0
Man, glad i wasnt there for that and i hope nobody was seriously hurt!
So sad to see people's hopes and dreams washed away.
Also at 8:59 a closer view of Josh's house. It must be under 4ft of water!
Great video, but, such devastation.
OMG the Cheese factory place flooded (near the end of video)
This is really insane, hope it doesn't get worse!!!
It's almost as bad as we get it here in England, but it lasts for months where i live in gloucestershire i go canoeing when it hits us on the river seven.
Scary that I had been through most of those areas earlier that day and ahd crossed some of those bridges
Yeah... Newville that's a mountain area too!

Sorta funny how the water short circuits railroad tracks. I hope Colorado will have a successful recovery.
Sure is good video but so sad. Hope you guys are in the clear. Take care!
I live in Colorado but when the flood happened I was at Arizona and I didn't get to see the flood so I rather watch videos from the flood
MASTERKINGSROCK KING Depending on where you were at the time it could have been awesome or devastating I knew people who lost their houses I'm lucky enough to live on a huge hill, I live in Longmont and huge fields had pretty turned into a lakes.
No snow affecting us. All snow still in mountains... for now.
Guess they will have to revise the Floodplain maps.
If this was the Philippines, people would be surfing the streets.
This is why I rent.
Oh shit this this is fucking sad..I hope the best for all people who live there.
My Neice and Nephew live there..Crazy happenings
Not always easy to manage environment. And remember; never block the road to water.
And also at 9:15 Josh's house just behind the camper.
Thought and encouragement to my colleagues at Mentor Graphics
Don't tell me this aint bad it's terrible people are dead this flood is terrbile
