Just like the Arcane: Online Mystery Serial series, this game used to scare me to death. As a kid I often played Steppenwolf episodes individually on various flash game websites, and had no clue what to do. Usually I'd end up dying.

Summary: The new assignment looked like a stroke of luck to Meg Crimson, an ambitious, young freelance reporter. World Geographic entrusted her with a task of making a series of documentaries on legendary animals (cryptids). She will first travel to Congo, accompanied by her quirky cameraman Derek Murphy, searching for the elusive creature called Mokele Mbembe, and a mysterious paleobiologist now living in the wild under the name Steppenwolf. Together they'll face other mythical monsters (Yeti, Chupacabra) and even greater threat posed by... humans.
Steppenwolf: The X-Creatures Project is an adventure game with action sequences (the player guides the character using the keyboard). It was split into 6 chapters, 4 episodes each, released consecutively every few weeks. The story is advanced via animated & voiced cutscenes.

As a kid, I couldn't go through a single episode, but the story and the graphics kept me trying. This game is an incredible nostalgia.

The only thing i vividly remember from this game is being jumpscared by a white monster, and the ice caves episode - which was the only one in which managed to achieve some progress.

When I first discovered it, I thought the only episode that could be played was the very last one and I was stuck on the first screen until I actually looked up a walkthrough and found out there were more screens. Lol
After 21 years later, I still hope Sarbakan can make a sequel about this game to make Steppenwolf and Meg meet again.
I always wanted the same thing, but how and why would there be a sequel? The X-Creatures Project is out of commission and nobody's even close to being as business savvy as Donovan was to take over.
No potential sequel is there of the game. You will not find the game on the official site of WarnerBros or Sarbakan, and no traces left even on Wikipedia. I find a susceptible reason that WarnerBros might be ashamed of the graphics and gameplay to be "not that good" comparatively to their other games.

As a kid, this was amazing. The story and gameplay, alongside the horror elements made it so engaging.
This game was too advanced, both for the year 2001 and for being a flash game.
I can't believe that I sat down for 3 and a half hours watching this! It was so entertaining!! I played those games when I was 5-6 years old but I never really managed to actually complete them, thanks for this amazing video and bringing back some old memories 💞
Yea same for me man, was just way to young to get the clues. But you had an other one same concept but with other people in like stonehenge or something and everytime you clicked wrong black tentacles would come out the sky with scary music, shit my pants from that one but I forgot the name.

I like how Pedro gets his own file; he only appeared in one episode but without him, Meg woulda been stuck. In fact, all of episodes have that one character who saved the heroes. The Mokole Mbembe one had the sane tribesman, The Yeti had the monks, The Kraken had Olaf, The Chupacabra had Pedro and both Heruka chapters had Octavio Sanchez.

This was probably the most ambitious and epic flash webgame I ever played as a kid. It's comforting to return to it all these years later and give it another watch
For 2001 this flash game was ahead of its age and definitely some pc/console games. Way ahead of its time.
this game really deserves its own series with more developed characters and their backstories and nature, the plot is so potential and cool that the directors really need to reveal its beauty, genius and atmosphere

Man this really takes me back. I was playing this when I was 6 or 7. I am in my 20s now. Crazy seeing this game played so seamlessly as I was so confused as to what was going on. You have to give them credit for making something so high budget in Flash in the early 2000s, so old that the World Trade Center is in the background at 1:03:26

Really weird seeing the full story after playing a few episodes and not being very good with English. Story's pretty neat, bit on the simple side but it has neat elements in it. I do like how the animations get improved with later episodes (like how the transitions from climbing to getting on the ground or platforms is non-existent in early episodes, but that might just be a bug). Episode 5 of Chapter 6 was the first one I played because the thumbnail looked cool.
The first and the one that I played the most was when Steppen gets tied to the chair in the beginning of it, and I never really got that far after watching the whole thing 😂, yet this game was really entertaining when I was 5

this game has been unlocked from my memory archives and living in my head rent free for months now. I couldn’t remember the name of this game but all I remember was how Steppenwolf looked and I’m so glad I finally found it

I have been searching for this game again for years now. After lots of googling, a reddit post led me here. Can't believe I finally found it after all this time. I played this a lot as a kid. Can't believe I can finally get to see it when I'm older.

Bro i loved Steppenwolf when i was 8 years old but those puzzles rarely make any sense sometimes, this is probably why i never managed to beat more than one or two levels by my own, always needed to rely on UA-cam content to know what to do, interactive spots usually blend with the low res background, would never make it without any help.

@@eileen9014 I had this problem too. Just check Extended FAQ when you are in readme file in Flashpoint (readme file is on main page of Flashpoint). On Extended FAQ on Trubleshooting chapter you will find question souds like " I'm running some games like Steppenwolf etc.". Under of it is command line to paste into command promp (shortly known as cmd) but you have to open cmd as admin to be sure that this command line will work
