My only complaint is that I wish this had been a longer podcast.
Me too.
Agreed.
I was excited to watch it when I saw the notification. Then I forgot all about it before I had the chance.
Glad I finally remembered they made this episode. Maynard is a great presence in every podcast I've ever seen him on.
These three together are fantastic.
Could you imagine if other superstars just decided to build a town/community like Maynard has done? Hats off sir
Cant tell you how much Tool I listened to on Deployments. Maynard got me through some rough times.
I run the largest Tool fan page and the largest 90s grunge page in the world with a little over a quarter million followers in total and I just shared this everywhere. Thank you for this awesome podcast and for serving this country. Spiral out 🤘🏻
Where can I find the Tool Fan Page?
Tool Shed?
So large that it cannot be mentioned? lol
@@te9591 I thought Tool Shed was run by the band. Didn't they used to have a forum where Maynard would troll?
@negativeionz not an expert, always thought tool shed was unofficial, Ninja.
What an amazing crossover I never thought I’d witness 😂
Shout out Maynard! 🤘
“And! We’ll show you how to pass Andy’s half-guard.” “That’s fucked up, Maynard.” 😂
Perfect ending.😂
Maynard is The Man!!!!
This is the best because it’s less like an interview and you get Maynard acting like himself.
Andy's interpersonal skills are Tier 1
I was lucky enough to spend some time with Maynard out in AZ through some mutual friends in the food world. Really nice guy, incredibly knowledgeable
I’ll never forget Maynard 2006 walking off to side stage ripping a bong and then blowing it out to the crowd 😂
Where?
You rub some of the coolest fucking elbows Andy. The content never fails to surprise, and you are like no operator I've ever met. Very down to earth. Thanks for covering some really cool unexpected shit.
What a great podcast. Three interesting individuals with great senses of humor just chatting about the things they find important.
And now I’m looking up Henry’s next BJJ camp out in Verde Valley 😂 Bucket list trip now for sure! I lived in Phoenix for a while years ago. Arizona is amazing!
- Police Officer in KY, GST level 2 Instructor, DT Instructor at my department.
Can’t help but listen to Maynard. Awesome you got him on!
It is so rare to be able to get him in such a chill conversation. He doesn't talk much to the media. This is an awesome setting.
I wish Maynard would be on podcasts way more
Prefect way to start the day. Can't wait to see them play in spokane again on the 15th!
Andy interviewed Maynard masterfully!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Maynard taking a fans back on stage without missing a note and the jackass kid felt special
Let’s go!
Agreed. Perfect ending. 😆
Go back in time more years than I care to remember; The DJ Alan 'Fluff' Freeman has either accidentally, or accidentally on purpose, played Hush, pre-watershed on Radio One. When the song is over, he unapologetically declares it to be "very intense". My brother and I discuss this deluge of foul language, seemingly sung through gritted teeth, and its likely ramifications. We conclude that we urgently need this band in our lives. If you had told us then that the lead singer would become an experienced winemaker and builder of communities, we would have laughed in your face. These journeys through life we all take. They seldom lead us where we think we are heading.
Holy shit.....you got Maynard on Cleared Hot...........Hell YES...!
I have lived in the Verde Valley my whole life and drive past old town everyday. Its crazy to see that you visited the area that I call home.
Maynard is a vet..stud on the right is a humble monster vet..lives large .smart .and humble
Why did I just find this episode? :( Love Maynard!
Cool surprise on this one. Love it.
Happy Friday!!
🍻 Good interview.
Wow, lots of valuable information in everything I hear this Mr. Keenan talk about. Business, it's just a puzzle. Cross training; it's my acumen. .
Robert Fripp inspires me this way. Maynard, a tip of my hat to your business acumen. As I said, I'm beginning to sense business as just another puzzle that I can have fun solving. Fripp Sifu again it's his sense of service to the lineage that hits little munchkin egos that just want to roar their mindless swoon as something snobbish.
TOOL ! Happy to know we share the same life stile XD
Thank you so much for doing this interview for the FBI, James Maynard Keenan, you are the best. I truly have a lot of problems from FBI harassment , and mine and my son's health is suffering severely. They poison our food. If you know anyone that can help us directly, (like law enforcement because I am not crazy) please reference them. This is crazy because you are an awesome musician and totally the man! There are a lot of metalheads and other pseudo-intellectuals that would be jealous of this special attention. This FBI harassment has been going on way to long and there should be some sort of legal limits set!!! WE FEEL HORRIBLE AND WE ARE SCARED. Please, help. I'm sure that you and the other celebrity musicians involved have more then enough influence to resolve this situation for me.
Sounds like you're in the midst of a schizophrenic episode. I would seek a psychiatrist.
Wow awesome andy!!!
This was nice. Wish it was longer!😅
this is cool, I love the long ones with mike glover going deep into war stories but 40 mins can be impactful too
I’m gonna say the word rad. This is rad. Met James in N.Y for a perfect circle wine taste in radio city. Love it. Much love to you guys & rock on 🇺🇸
I’m holding on to my 2007 Judith, bought it many moons ago. Should have bought more.
Huge Tool fan. Listening to this conversation I was curious what Jerome looks like. It sounds amazing hearing Maynard talk about it. Pop of 467. Jesus Christ. Everyone in that town must work for Maynard.
Legendary
Wha wha whaaaaat!!!
This is great. My wife and I visit MJK's tasting room in Jerome when we are visiting my mom in AZ. Great wine in a great little town. I have been fortunate to see both Tool and APC a few times. It is rare to get an intimate conversation with Maynard. Awesome show today. I wish it was a couple hours longer but I will take what I can get. APC will be playing again for Maynard's birthday tour next year.
Good on y'all
This was really cool
Good interview, we had a similar conversation yesterday when we had some tepid white belts sign up. It it wasn't for the white belts, we would lose the sport and the ability to train in the future. Their tepidity was from the fear of getting smashed and hurt.
🖤
BEST. MJK. EVER.
What's the story behind the Oklahoma Jiu-jitsu Mafia reference? I'm curious as an Oklahoma native.
Yeah, something called the “velvet slippers club” is definitely a place where I would expect Andy to be.
That's crazy that the Ginseng Drummer turned Maynard on to MMA
Andy Love the conversation between you guys..
I’m a fan of yours from Joe Rogan podcast..
Do you have any plans to do another podcast with Joe?
Henry’s shirt is awesome. Where can I get one of those?
Need Maynard in your normal long forum podcast.
Is it just me or do Andy and Maynard have the same sense of humor. They also sound and talk the same
Hey Mr. Stumpf, the word is “Cre-Yoanch,” lmao
F*ck yeaaah 💪
Boss engine
Are there any Henry Akin sparring videos? Ive never seen this guy roll. Im not saying hes illegitimate or anything, but its just so weird he never shows his level.
Just for context, the man on the left and the man on the right are both 5 foot 2 and 118 pounds.
no rolling? wtf?
love tool the wine is average at best but im from the napa area so the standard is set really high but went too Jerome had his wine and some others and just not impressed sorry
Best thing about podcasts for me is when you realize someone is way smarter or dumber than you could have imagined. Maynard being the latter.
