- In this video you can enjoy astonishing winter cab ride - train drivers view on Slovenia's Bohinj Railway (Bohinjska proga) between Jesenice and Nova Gorica in 4K/60 frames per second.
The CNN travel channel recently published the article where the Bohinj Railway in Slovenia is among 10 of the most beautiful train journeys in the World. The Bohinj line takes in 28 tunnels and 65 bridges.
The Bohinj Railway, the shortest railway route from central Europe to the Adriatic Sea (from Prague to Trieste), was built by Austria-Hungary from 1900 to 1906 as a part of a new strategic railway. The Bohinj Tunnel was created for it in 1904. This is still the longest railway tunnel in Slovenia today (6327 m). An even more attractive special feature is the bridge across the River Soča near Solkan. The Solkan Bridge is the largest stone railway bridge in the world! Its main arch, with an 85-metre span, was built in 1906. It includes 4533 limestone blocks from nearby Nabrežina, close to Trieste. These blocks are interconnected with thin cement mortar layers. During World War I, this las, and also largest, stone giant among bridges was damaged; it was renovated in 1927.
As a part of the Path of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic - World War I Heritage, the Bohinj Railway is entered in the tentative UNESCO World Heritage List.
On that line operates a motorail service between Bohinjska Bistrica, Podbrdo and Most na Soči. It runs through the longest Slovenian rail tunnel, the Bohinj tunnel, connecting Upper Carniola in the North of Slovenia with the seaside Littoral in the South West. Motorail trains can carry cars, vans, pickups, and camper vans which don’t exceed 3m in height and 2.4m in width with max speed of 70 km/h.

This is the most beautiful region in Slovenia. Unique scenario!
@dragon11z I totally agree with you! This is my favourite line in Slovenia.
Beautiful nature! How I would love to walk here. Too bad I'm already so old.
@petrbures923It is very beautiful. You can enjoy the landscape through that images.
Beautiful Cab ride...Fantastic video! Loved watching it! Snow looks great...Thanks for sharing ...👍👍👍
@kartikeyawalks6066 You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Love this trip! Love Slovenia! The Raca River Valley is amazing! The video was crystal clear! Thank you so much! Keep well, keep doing it! Hugs and more hugs! #newfoundlandandlabrador #canada
@samuelprince3482 Thank you! I will do! Greeting to Canada!
@xavierthomas8311 you are welcome.
great train video
@EntertainmentWorldz
Glad you enjoyed it.
It's still nice to have a clear view without overhead wires. The snowy landscape is beautiful.🏔
It seems to me that car-carriers would be very active during the snowy season🚗🛤
Thank you very much!👍
You are right! With high snow the car carriers are very helpful for the local people.
Bled Jezero or Bled LAKE! Bohinj Lake are heart places! Places of Soul! Nova Gorica is the terminal of the Transalpine railway from Jesenice! I Know that valley! I WENT to Metaldays festival in Tolmin and it is not so far from Most na Soci, where the river Baca crosses the Idrija Valley with the Idrijca lies. Idrija and the Mercury Caves. Nova Gorica and Gorizia united in the Europa Square, an historical place where former station Gorizia Montesanto ( now Nova Gorica Station) lies and there 's Italy/Slovenia Border and the Nova Gorica/Ljubljana municipality border. It is a place of soul, too. Rich in the meaning of memory of Cold War, where the Iron Curtain separated two words: Italy and Yugoslavia. Thank u! BRAVO!
@wladislaw79 you know this places all this places. Nice. Yes, Tolmin is not so far away. I went to Metaldays festival a few years ago, on the Sepultura concert. It was a great experience. A great place to organise the festival. I heard that they will change the location.
Love the snow. The scene is captivating. Great work again RR.
@jamesfriery Thank you so much 😀
i used to use this route on my annual holidays in Slovenia, loved it. Havent been since 2019 due to COVID but this video made me realise i miss that place soooo much.t hank you for posting it :)
@edf6607 Glad you liked it! This is our best line in Slovenia and we use it to go for a camping trip near Lepena River. At least once a year.
@@RailRelaxation once i travelled this route on the old steam train that they run for tourists - that was a fun but smoky experience!!
Slovenija is such a beautiful country. And everything, not only the railways, is in best order and absolutely clean. This could really be be a part of Switzerland.
@nickweiserfolz it is vey beautiful. Actually, a lot of people say that Slovenia is a small Switzerland...
@nickweiserfolz i love Slovenia and it is indeed a beautiful country, but no, this coundn't be a part of Switzerland for mainly 2 reasons - the different architecture and better infrastructure in Switzerland.
@@Tom_OB yes, I agree.
Great ride with excellent video quality...good job !!!
@carljohnson3989 Thanks a lot!
@@RailRelaxation the SZ Class 610 from stadler is also in service by Arriva Nederland at the Noordelijke Nevenlijnen (where it is known as the Stadler WINK) where it is in service on the RS2 to Harlingen Haven,RS3 to Sneek/Stavoren and sometimes the RS/RE1 to Leeuwarden wich is then shared with the Stadler GTW
Nice trip through north western Slovenia ending up Nova Gorica and Nova Gorica area along with it's Italian sister city has some of best pizza joints anywhere on the planet.
@richardlong3745 thank you for the compliment and pizza info 😃

@rostilembe Welcome!
Love your videos but seeing I'm on the other side of the world I would like to see a photo of the train loco / drive car of the train.
Keep these videos coming for us that don't live in Europe.
@wayneeschbank2895 thank you very much for your comment. Well noted! I am so glad that those video can bring European railway lines closer to the viewers all around the world. Wishing you a wonderful day!
Line Jesenice Nova Gorica Sezana! Crossing Triglav Mountains and trespassing Sava Valley to Soca Valley! Beautiful! What lines are the next?
This line is very beautiful, the landscapes are amazing, the most beautiful railway line in Slovenia that was recently included in the list of the 10 most beautiful railways in the world (By CNN travel channel). The next lines that I will publish will be from Croatia and Italy.
Muito lindo demais 😻💝🥰🇧🇷

Hello
Voilà une belle ligne !! 😁
@+👁
@gargamel91 hello, thank you for your comment. I did like the Italian cab rides too, there is something about the blue see being close....For sure this line going through the Slovenian mountains can not be boring😁no way. It is just beautiful. I drive there every year at least a few times...have a nice day!
@@RailRelaxation we misunderstood each other.
it's the road train in Italy that I find a bit boring, not this one.😉
@gargamel91 👍. I am glad that you liked this one.
Bel video!
@nobelitaly1024 Grazie!
@paolopetronio8260 Wow, I am honoured to speak with the author of that book. You have to know every bit of the line and its history. I find that line the most beautiful line in Slovenia. The cuts in the tunnels are complicated, lots of viewers are complaining about long tunnels... I try to get somewhere in between to meet everyone's wishes..Thank you for your comment.
Potem Šoštanj-Slovenj Gradec.
Well, I enjoyed the video. I did not like the fast forwarding of the video inside the tunnels. I want to see the whole thing. Thanks
@thom3124 thank you for your comment. There are people that don't like the tunnels, so I try to take a middle path and leave the tunnels and cut the longest ones.
Beautiful video. Is this the "transalpina" railway?
Today in Genoa there was 20° and in north-west of Italy no snow this year
@cordialifetecchie Yes, it is "transalpina" railway. It was 20 degrees in Ljubljana, Slovenia today.
hi great trip,thank you..why does the diesel multiple unit keep stopping..anyone know?..ken from Aussie👍🤓
@fredericcornilleau9359 thank you for your compliment. I filmed and produced the video, but I did not drive he train.
Hallo mein Freund !!!
Why does the train stop mid-track sometimes?
@TheWarrior1256 Probably the driver received instructions, I do not know why.
@@RailRelaxationprobably because the tracks are awful
Assume that the train gets several times a forced braking by the software due to problems in drive/ brake control under these difficult slippery driving conditions on wet/ snowy track. May be also due to the programming of the train control software.
Non c'est un autorail Diesel
Please friend.
Travel for turkey,greece or germany,nobody upload this video for this country😢😢

Could you tell us a little about your train?
@4everskiing The train is a SŽ class 610 Stadler is a 171-passenger Stadler DMU.
@@RailRelaxation Thank you. Looks like an awesome design.
@4everskiing you are welcome.
Austrian train drivers if they have the correct locomotive to do Vbf Villach Süd Triest via Jesenice Assling route, they are going to say Wochiener Bahn. Since the Austro-Hungarian government needed to cross the alps
@EpicThe112 thanks.
