Chairmans Reserve Spiced Rum Review. | What to mix with Spiced Rum Drinks
I’m on a mission to see what is the Best Spiced Rum and make up some great Spiced Rum Drinks Recipes. Every month there are new Spiced Rum Brands trying to be the Best Spiced Rum on the market. So each week, I bring you a new Spiced Rum Review and find out which Spiced Rum Mixers work well. Does it work as a Spiced Rum and Coke? And Find some great Spiced Rum Cocktails.
Chairmans Reserve Spiced Rum, is one of my favourite spiced rums which comes from the St Lucia Distillers. Launched roughly around 2010, it’s not exactly a new kid on the block, but it’s still not a massive player. And this is a proper authentic spiced rum too. It uses the St Lucia Chairman’s Reserve Rum as the base, then its finished by steeped the Rum with Bois Bande…a Caribbean Aphrodisiac… then Local Spices such as Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg Vanilla, Allspice, Lemon & Orange.
How to Drink the Rum?
Well, as always that is down to you, but my Preferred serves are Coca-Cola, Fever Tree Spiced Orange Ginger Ale and Rubicon Passion Fruit Soda!! Yup, it’s lovely!

I've just started getting into rum. The only spiced rums I've tried are Kraken and Captain Morgan... i got a bottle of this and it blew me away. Its light years ahead of those two
My mom made an outstanding 16th century recipe for egg nog this Christmas. It uses brandy, rye whisky, sherry and rum. Lots of it. When she makes it again I’ll definitely try it with this rum

It’s still pretty much the go to “proper” Spiced Rum. It will always be a firm Favvy. You can tell instantly the difference between CR and the other Brands propping up.

Stunning rum, had it in St Lucia back in '18 on holiday - my 'go to' after the barman showed me!
Yeah, it's amazing. Love the St Lucian Rums. Even Bounty which is their cheaper, entry level Rums are superb.

Love that!! It’s totally different to “normal” spiced Rums. Simply cos it’s unsweetened PROPER rum!! But it’s gorgeous.
@@StevetheBarmanUK Steve the barman strikes again!!! Just tried this.... Wow joint for me with cut to the spice , I need to re visit cut to the spice alongside this but for me this goes straight into my top 2!!! Like you said miles better than red leg
they are my favourite brand only rum by them I not had to date is 1931 but on my list the master selection is great same with admiral Rodney line ups
The 1931s are great. There is one constantly available (ish) but the rest were limited edition. My favourite was the red label one, followed by the purple. 2 of my members were lucky enough to grab the whole range at auction pre Christmas.
got a bottle of this delivered yesterday. OMG the spices and smell are on another level to the others i've had, red leg, mount gay eclipse, pink pigeon etc. trying to get into sipping rum too, think this is going to be tried to drink neat. I did have a small sip neat but then added coke zero. I dont like the alcohol kick when sipping neat, this didn't have much of that. i tried Jack Daniels(dont like whiskey BTW) after finishing this. it was so plain and ordinary 1 dimensional, and horrible lol.
Cheers Anthony. Thats what i mean about stuff like this, there is a gulf in quality! Thats not saying the others a Bad, it's just that stuff like this is REALLY Good.

Yeah, I do love Chairmans Reserve Rums...and actually St Lucian Rums in general. BUt this Spiced Rum is deffo up there in my top 5 for neat sipping spiced Rums.

+KEN PARRY Hey Ken! Thank you for the comment. I’d class Chairmans White Rum as a “Rum” more than a Spiced/Flavoured Rum, so not really my focus on the channel I’m afraid. Sorry. I can confirm though it’s good...but my personal preference for a White Rum, would be Plantation 3 Stars. Hope that helps.

@@StevetheBarmanUK I do it but gently :) Strong alcohol does not need to be oxidized as wine does and its compunds do not need violent swirls to get the scent :) PS I like your rum-enthusiasm. You are in your element, one can see :)
As a native of where this rum is made i can tell you, it's one of the worst spiced rums .... Bois bandé* (bwa buhday) translation: stiff wood or the back of the cinnamon tree
